Characters in interactive media are different from characters in books or movies, so it's hard to compare the two. Interactive media, in my experience, tend to show a little more depth in their characters than movies. Leia, icon that she is, was really little more than a damsel in distress in the movies. Amidala is just plain boring. Mara Jade is hard to get a fix on because she's been written by so many different authors.

I love a "tough girl" character -- not necessarily in the sense that she's a badass, but in the sense that she gives the outward impression of being cool and emotionless because it's her way of dealing with pain -- and the Handmaiden fits the bill perfectly. She starts out so cold and disciplined that when you finally do get her to show some emotion, it's far more rewarding than from a needy Stockholm Syndrome-case like Visas, or even a somewhat more emotionally balanced but impetuous character like Bastila. I don't meant to minimize the interesting qualities of Visas or Bastilla -- there are few, if any, bad characters in the KotOR series -- but I just didn't find them as interesting to interact with as the Handmaiden. In a lot of ways, I see her as a kind of female Carth, and I've always been in the camp that thought Carth was an excellent character.

Mira's kind of the same type, and if you make it all the way through her dialogue tree you'll be rewarded with what might be the best voice-acting in the game. Her transition from aloofness to vulnerability is brilliantly done, and while I'm sure that plenty here won't agree, I think not making her available as a romantic interest for the Exile was an excellent choice that strengthens her character.

Kreia is a good character, but she suffers more than anyone else from the flaws of the game. With a coherent story that had actually made it clear to the casual gamer what she was trying to accomplish, she could've been a great character.

All that to say that Mira is my favorite of the listed female characters, with the Handmaiden a close second.

Bastila technically isn't a femme fatale, she is an open book from the start and she predictably turns to the dark side pretty easily under Malak's forceful conversion methods. To be a femme fatale you need to be cunning, vicious, merciless and above all else, unpredictable.

Well, in the technical sense none of them qualify. I think the thread starter just wanted a snappy title for the thread. ;)

As far as I know, Durga is a Hindu goddess. For more info, see here:

However, It could also be that the poster was meaning to point to a specific woman/girl named Durga when he posted.

BTW, I voted for Mira, as she's a really nice character. I was disappointed though that Atris was not in the poll

Visas Marr, Darth Traya and Tavion definitely classify as femme fatale's though.

Hmh, that Dragonlance guy. Isn't it Brightblade? Well, last time when I read DL it was few years ago so I can be wrong too. Still, I could swear that it was Brightblade

Mission feels more like a character with some slight streak of rebelliousness in her, though not quite resonant with a fatale personality.

Deep from within...

Some see salvation as an act of God, a few look within for it.
