Here's some advice on Morrowind: Alchemy!

 

Just don't abuse it (as in drinking 1000 +1000 int potions) or you'll break your character

Get something that improves your fire resistance and you'll avoid most attack spells. (attack spells npcs use tend to be either Fire or Ice based)

 

If I recall Nords are completely immune to cold.

They are immune to cold. Like you said I need to find something that resist fire. I just got killed by a mage using fire based spells.

Also: once you can make permanent magic items.. make a +2 fatigue item (constant) and you can run forever without wearing down
