Walsingham Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I like to sing, and am told I've got a good voice. I know of plenty of songs about losing the one you love, or being in love. I want a good singing song for when your loved one leaves for a couple of days. You know, when you won't see them for a week, and as they walk away you can feel this big empty gap in your arms. Failing that, let's write one. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.

Dark Moth Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Oh gosh, I'm not a very good writer. I don't know... But have you ever listened to "Broken" by Seether w/ Amy Lee? I know it doesn't come from the likely source you'd expect, but I found it surprisingly touching.
Baley Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Okay, I've written one: Vivisection Dejection sitting on a bench The Park is empty now Your head is shrieking Separated from it's body. Vivisection, sweet Vivisection. Vivisection, sweet Vivisection. I said hello to you My penis hastily rising You said no to me Your head was so purty I needed to touch it You screamed My blade went silent Puke around me Puke inside me I touched you You were so pretty So pretty. Vivisection, sweet Vivisection. Vivisection, sweet Vivisection. Where have you gone? Must I search inside of you? I will, I will, soon The night, it's here, for us. Vivisection, sweet Vivisection. Vivisection, sweet Vivisection.
Blarghagh Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 That is so not fair. I love to sing but I have a terrible voice. *walks away dejectedly* Oh yeah, EElS' "It's A Mother****er" is a great love song if you don't mind the profanity. Also, the clich

Dark Moth Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Seether w/ Amy Lee - Broken I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away I keep your photograph and I know it serves me well I wanna hold you high and steal your pain 'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome And I don't feel like I am strong enough 'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome And I don't feel right when you're gone away You've gone away, you don't feel me here, anymore The worst is over now and we can breathe again I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away There's so much left to learn, and no one left to fight I wanna hold you high and steal your pain [x2] 'Cause I'm broken when I'm open And I don't feel like I am strong enough 'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome And I don't feel right when you're gone away 'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome And I don't feel right when you're gone away You've gone away You don't feel me here anymore
ShadowPaladin V1.0 Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 (edited) 1000 Words Final Fantasy X-2 Concert Version I know that you're hiding things Using gentle words to shelter me Your words were like a dream But dreams could never fool me, not that easily. I acted so distant then Didn't say goodbye before you left But I was listening You'll fight your battles far from me, far too easily. "Save your tears, 'cause I'll come back" I could hear that you whispered as you walked through that door But still I swore To hide the pain I when turned back the pages Shouting might have been the answer What if I'd cried my eyes out and begged you not to depart? But now I'm not afraid to say what's in my heart! 'Cause a thousand words Call out through the ages They'll fly to you Even though I can't see I know they're reaching you Suspended on silver wings Oh, a thousand words, 1000 embraces Will cradle you, making all of Your weary days seem far away They'll hold you foreverrrrrrrrr! Oh, a thousand words (a thousand words) Have never been spoken (oh yeah) They'll fly to you They'll carry you home (carry you home) And back into my arms Suspended on silver wings (on silver wings!) And a thousand words (oh!) Call out through the ages (call through the ages!) They'll cradle you (oh yeah!) Turning all of the lonely years to only days (only days!) They'll hold you foreverrrrrrrrr! Ohhhhhhhh, a thousand words. (its the shorter of the two versions. It's from the FFX-2 lyrics faq over at gamefaqs). The () are Lennes parts for the duet. Meshugger Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 (edited) Errr, i don't know where to start here, but i'll give a few suggestions. 1. A relationship is very personal to for me, so the very idea of starting a thread about suggestions how sing a lovesong sounds odd to me IMO. 2. I'm sure you're just a bit confused here, women don't really care what you sing/write to them, it's how you do it that matters. 3. Thus, i'm pretty sure that you are sane and don't sing a song like Slayer - "Sex.Murder.Art." to her. No reason ask on a public board about it, just sing what's on your mind when she leaves. It's not that she's going to say: "I really like your voice, but the lyrics suck. P*ss off!" And if she do, you better reconsider your relationship with her. Atreides Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Get on American Idol so we can see how good you are. Spreading beauty with my katana.
Walsingham Posted February 27, 2006 Author Posted February 27, 2006 I not talking about singing to her! This is so I can let out the blues when she's gone. Relationships are, of course, personal, and talking about them on a forum is slightly silly. But forcing yourself to be a little silly helps with preventing taking it too seriously. Which is obviously a good thing. In general, though I really enjoy singing. Sing when I'm happy. Sing when I'm sad. I also play blues harmonica. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.

If you're a blues-man, then there shouldn't be a problem finding a song about missing your loved one Edited February 27, 2006 by Meshugger "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy
LoneWolf16 Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Perfect song. 3 Doors Down - Here Without You A hundred days have made me older Since the last time that I saw your pretty face A thousand lies have made me colder And I don't think I can look at this the same But all the miles that separate Disappear now when I'm dreaming of your face I'm here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I'm here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight it's only you and me The miles just keep rollin' As the people leave their way to say hello I've heard this life is overrated But I hope that it gets better as we go I'm here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I'm here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight girl its only you and me Everything I know, and anywhere I go It gets hard but it wont take away my love And when the last one falls When it's all said and done It gets hard but it wont take away my love I'm here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I'm here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight girl its only you and me I had thought that some of nature's journeymen had made men and not made them well, for they imitated humanity so abominably. - Book of Counted Sorrows 'Cause I won't know the man that kills me and I don't know these men I kill but we all wind up on the same side 'cause ain't none of us doin' god's will. - Everlast

blue Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 (edited) If you're a blues-man, then there shouldn't be a problem finding a song about missing your loved one <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's right. Go to the source. My preference is John Lee but it won't be the same without his guitar work & vocal whimsy: http://blueslyrics.tripod.com/lyrics/john_...er/my_dream.htm Better to try something neo-bluesy. Waits nicely provides a self-indulgent mix of comical sorrow: http://www.officialtomwaits.com/music/m_ey...hit_Creek_Again "Look's Like I'm Up **** Creek Again" by Tom Waits Well the sun came in my window Wednesday morning And your love was like the golden rays again Now I'm lying here on a Thursday, and you're lovin someone new And it looks like I'm up **** creek again And I can't help thinking of your lovin ways And I cried a quart of tears since you've been gone And I can't face the morning by myself love And it looks like I'm up **** creek again Since you've been gone, I cry all the time And I cannot stand leavin you behind So I'll pull myself together, And I'll dry away my tears But the morning light has brought back memories And I can't face the morning by myself love And it looks like I'm up **** creek again So I'm out a walkin on this dusty highway Cause you've given me no reason for to stay And I'll walk until I've found someone who loves me not in vain And it looks like I'm up **** creek again And it looks like I'm up **** creek again Edited February 27, 2006 by blue
