Pope Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Finally got to see Crash. Liked it. Reminded me of Magnolia.
LadyCrimson Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Walk the Line, the Johnny Cash biopic. 6.5/10 Pretty good if you like these kinds of movies, although they could've played a bit more music...it's also the first movie where I actually liked Reese Witherspoon. I don't hate her or anything, she's just never seemed anything but average before. Joaquin Phoenix was decent as Cash, but imo he did over-act it a little bit. “Things are as they are. Looking out into the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.” – Alan Watts
Kor Qel Droma Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I really liked Walk The Line. The scene where he and his band are playing for the record producer gave me goosebumps, specifically where he was singing ' folsom Prison Blues' and the break comes up and he gives his guitar player a look like ' come up with something, anything, please!!!' then he comes up with that riff. Priceless. Hustle and Flow was the last movie I watched. Not bad at all. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
blue Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 it's also the first movie where I actually liked Reese Witherspoon. I don't hate her or anything, she's just never seemed anything but average before. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you haven't seen it, check out Election. Reese plays a neurotic overachiever. Good film, great character.
metadigital Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Just watched Blade Trinity. I'm confused. Jessica Biel was worth watching, but the plot was very strange. Almost like half of it was cut out. OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT

metadigital Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 It's not brilliant like Brazil, but it's interesting in a the-Napoleonic-French-were-worse-than-Nazis-in-their-own-way kind of way. OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT

metadigital Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 There is no way that the drugged ravings of Hunter S Thompson comes close to being better than Brazil (complete with Robert DeNiro!). Baley Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. Fap Fap Fap
kirottu Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 There were no "Fap Fap Fap" moments in that movie, Baley. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

SteveThaiBinh Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 So, has anyone watched The Man Who Sued God?I've been holding off seeing it for over a year now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was OK, with the odd good laugh, but if you could get hold of any of Billy Connolly's stand-up routines it'd be a hundred times funnier. I watched Ghost in the Shell a few nights ago. Interesting, and a little disconcerting, I thought. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Chupacabra Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 It was a decent anime. I think the ending could have been better.
metadigital Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 It is about twenty years old, now. Both gold though :D
Baley Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 It's the only good Python film. I'm gonna watch Fear And Loathing, again.
kirottu Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Pink Panther. Quite good actually. Then again I have always liked Steve Martin. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

In fact the film is just a bunch of great vignettes put together around an interesting theme. It's the only good Python film.
