SteveThaiBinh Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 ...honestly was thinkin' hard on it, but I's always felt that Ravel was left, well, undone...jus' wasna fleshed out enuff...might not be a popular opinion, but methinks TTO was the portrayed better... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not undone, I thought - the odd hint about her history and motivations to add depth, but not so much as to draw the focus from the impact of her two encounters with the PC. Maybe we need another thread to talk about favourite non-joining NPCs? "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Gabrielle Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Sulik the great from Fallout 2. What isn't there not to like? He doesn't wear a shirt, exposing those muscles of his. He carries a mean sledge hammer which he can use to knock people clear across the screen. And he's fearless. Plus his lines rule! What can we and I do for you?
Slowtrain Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I can't think of any that were particularly good or bad in any game I've played. I always had a soft spot for Lenny the Ghoul in FO2. It always cracked me up when his float would say: I am the Master and you are the learner while he shot someone in the face at 10 hexes...and missed. lol. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.

This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
Gabrielle Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Anderson was alright. I liked the voice talents of Micheal Dorn, Tony Jay, David Warner and Kath Soucie

Insanity is another form of genius right? That Aerie is something else as an NOC and one you can romance. I like Viconia, I have a soft spot for drow but Aerie is sweet, while Viconia is forbidden fruit. Hurlshort Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I had totally forgotten Star Control 2. There were some great characters in that game. I remember the ugly race that constantly spewed insults at you in particular.

~Di Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Haven't read this thread yet, but my favorites as far as well-drawn and fascinating characters, in no real order: Ravel (PS:T) Morte(PS:T) Jolee Bindo (KoTOR) HK 47 (KoTOR) ... just for the fun factor, actually, since he wasn't terribly complex! Kreia (KoTOR2) Sly (Anachronox) Irenicus (BG2) ...best damned villain evar, lol

Magnum Opus Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 1. Ravel (Torment). Easy first choice. And for the rest... not necessarily in order: 2. The Master (FO1). Found him/her/them quite disturbing at the time. And the second time, now that I think about it... 3. The Guardian (Ultima 7, SI, 9). Good villain. 4. Nordom (Torment) 5. Korax the Ghoul (BG1: You look veeeery tasty today... ). A little addled, but fun. 6. Sulik (FO2). Like every other joinable in that series, incompetent to the point of being detrimental in combat, but a character with a fun hook nonetheless. Go grampy bone!! 7. Rakeesh (QfG series)... with a nod to Ad Avis. 8. Dupre (Ultima). Most of the characters in that series were defined in imagination almost as much as by the game until the last installation, but SI... *nods* 9. Morte (Torment) 10. The Luremaster (IWD - TotL).

I usually rip them from the PST folder and use them in a better game like Baldur's Gate. Either use them as a custom sound for your character or use them for a non-joinable npc. I do the same thing with Annah as well.
