Gabrielle Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Mages so you can cast fire spells and watch things burn. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fire Dance for the win :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Totally.
Diamond Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I have just found out that NWN2 is not goin to have Timestop spell. :'( The life has no meaning now.
Jorian Drake Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I have just found out that NWN2 is not goin to have Timestop spell. :'( The life has no meaning now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Timestop is my favorite spell too...it simply has to be in every D&D game... :'(

SteveThaiBinh Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 (edited) I have just found out that NWN2 is not goin to have Timestop spell. :'( The life has no meaning now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's too bad. Timestop is terrific - when your opponents have it and use it to good effect. It's a bit boring if the PC has it, though. Judge Hades Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Its a broken spell in NWN. Just because one person castes it 3 in game miles down the road it stops time there to.
Volourn Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 "Its a broken spell in NWN. Just because one person castes it 3 in game miles down the road it stops time there to." I think BIO forgot to test it in MP; because that's fine SP; but in MP it's just friggin' annoying. Of course, there are multiple fixes/changes to the spell so that's no excuse for Obsidian not having it in NWN2. I wonder why they left it out... It's one of the coolest level 9 spells out there. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Volourn Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Meteor Swarm is boring inc omparison. All it basiclaly does is repelace fireball at a high level, and doens't hurt the caster. Timestop is cool because there are very few if any spells similar to it. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Blank Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Timestop is cool because there are very few if any spells similar to it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It certainly sounds cool. I can imagine a few solutions, i don't know anything about programming, but it seems like they are simple enough. 1. have the timestop in a smaller vicinity. say, 20 in-game meters. 2. when an object collides with that area, it is affected by the timestop. you run next to the battle when the guy uses timestop, that is your fault. you shoot something at the guys who are just sitting there, your projectile is affected by the spell. 3. have a counter-spell? you say its a level 9 spell, maybe have the counter at 10 or 11? 4. have it cost more to the player using it? just ideas. shoot me down now.
Weiser_Cain Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Hahaha it'll be in by the time I buy the game Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (

I thought your ideas are alright. Meh, I don't care much for timestop(I'm more of a low level player), but it's definetly addable. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Atreides Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Ray of Enfeeblement + Polymorph Other: Sheep + Summon Dire Wolf <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds cool. I'd like to see party AI coordinate spells like that. Priest lowers saves, 1st mage further lowers saves then 2nd mage polymorphs. All of them chant together and the spells go off right after each other. The player won't have much time to react, much less know what's going on. Spreading beauty with my katana.
jaguars4ever Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 (edited) Well the deal breaker for me is no epic levels but a few of the features I hope for is...A proper template system An expert mode that has the class limit off etc Long hair that goes beyond my sholders Planar travel <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While it pains me to agree with you, Planar travel would indeed be awesome. Heck, through in some Spell Jamming for good measure. Edited January 30, 2006 by jaguars4ever
jaguars4ever Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Spelljammer was an interesting concept <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was especially cool to see it get a nod in BG2. How I wish there was a way to convince that Spelljamming drow to "lend" you his Astral ship.
Moose Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 They need to leave timestop out so they can put it in the first expansion pack: "A bunch of spells to screw up the game". There are none that are right, only strong of opinion. There are none that are wrong, only ignorant of facts
Weiser_Cain Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 That's why I'm, waimting for the second expansion "Ok we've milked this cow long enough here's what you wanted from the start just buy the damn thing". Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
CoM_Solaufein Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Spelljammer was an interesting concept <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. If I wanted space ships I would go for a Star Wars or Star Trek setting.
