Diogo Ribeiro Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 And just ordered a Gamecube. I'm also looking into getting a GB Player unit so I can play Gameboy Advance titles on the Cube, and am already browsing for games. Top priorities for now are Metroid Prime and Wind Waker. For some reason I feel dirty. But I suspect it won't matter in some months from now.
karka Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I'd wait for the Revolution. You can play all GC titles on it.
Diogo Ribeiro Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 Yes, I have heard of that. But the reasons I chose to go for a Gamecube now are basically: 1) I haven't heard anything about a possible ability to play GBA titles via an add-on; 2) The price will likely be too high for me once it comes out; 3) I'd rather not wait until then to play some Gamecube titles which might be harder to get then; 4) Even if I do get a Revolution, I can always then sell the Cube (although I only see myself doing this if the GBA functionality is still there).
Haitoku Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Nothing wrong with owning a console. GC has some good stuff anyways, it's too bad it didn't get enough titles to keep me interested.
Arkan Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Get Killer 7...damn fun game. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
EUIX Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Heathen filfth! Away with ye! "For ourselves, we shall not trouble you with specious pretences- either of how we have a right to our empire because we overthrew the Mede, or are now attacking you because of wrong that you have done us- and make a long speech which would not be believed; and in return we hope that you, instead of thinking to influence us by saying that you did not join the Lacedaemonians, although their colonists, or that you have done us no wrong, will aim at what is feasible, holding in view the real sentiments of us both; since you know as well as we do that right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must."
Diogo Ribeiro Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 (edited) Thanks for the suggestion Speaking of which does anyone have any other suggestions for the Cube? Up until now it's: Metroid Prime Wind Waker Killer 7 I'm also thinking of getting the Ocarina of Time GC version, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Fire Emblem somewhere down along the road. Speaking of which, anyone played Animal Crossing? That seems like a fun title. Edited January 3, 2006 by Role-Player
Joseph Bulock Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Cube - Mario Strikers - MGS: Twin Snakes - Eternal Darkness - Animal Crossing GBA -Super Dodge ball My blood! He punched out all my blood! - Meet the Sandvich
Llyranor Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Tales of Symphonia!!! (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Darque Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Oh... suggestions... Well, I also endorse Killer 7. Plus... ALL of the RESIDENT EVIL GAMES :D Eternal Darkness is also an excellent survival horror game
Diogo Ribeiro Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 Thanks for the suggestions, appreciate it By the way, isn't Twin Snakes the remake of the original Metal Gear Solid? Just curious. Resident Evil 4 also seems to be fine, Darque
Child of Flame Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Yeah, Eternal Darkness is a must have title.

Calax Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Twin snakes is a mix... it's got the remake of MGS1 with all the goodies of MGS2 plus it's got MGS2 added in. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Judge Hades Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 A gamecube isn't so bad. It has the RE series and that alone makes it worth the buy. I had one for a while just for that purpose. Now, if you gotten a X Box 360 then I would have been worried.
Meshugger Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Baten Kaitos, the art and soundtrack is amazing. "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy
mkreku Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I can't stress the importance of you getting Resident Evil 4 enough. It's a must have. Just check out which game Gamespot chose for 2005 Game Of The Year.. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Diogo Ribeiro Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 Very true mkreku, RE4 does seem like a winner. While I'm generally not much of a fan of the series' take on horror, I will definetely get it.
Joseph Bulock Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 The best thing about MGS Twin Snakes is that the new cinematics were directed by Ryuhei Kitamura, the same guy who made Versus and Azumi. For those who don't know his work, it's crazy, over the top action. My blood! He punched out all my blood! - Meet the Sandvich
Calax Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 it also has more of the kojima trademark psycosis. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Archmonarch Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Good luck with that. Ive heard the return policies are a bitch. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
