If I get Oblivion it'll be for PC, so does it get released the same time as the XBox360 version?

No way I'm dishing out $400 to $500 for a XBox360 on release. <_<

I guess I'm just used to publishers like Lucasarts screwing me over with false promises of simultaneous release that I'm in shock everytime I see someone actually publish the PC version before the console. :)"

I'm not saying that it has less content.

But you cannot make a statemnt like "Oblivion has more content." without playing the damn game.

The only source right now is Bethesda and they're in the process of hyping TES 4.

I know. What I meant was that Bethesda can say that there is more content and be telling the truth, but that the extra content wont make the game any less bland than morrowind was because of the extra size. Sorry if that wasnt clear.

I have to agree with Volourn.  Bioware is pretty much dead now.  Deals like this kills development studios.

Which makes it quite possible to have more content and not be lying, but at the same time have a world that appears more empty than Morrowind did. We just moved to a bigger house in case anyone is wondering about the room anologies.

Yeah, cool and all, but.. We all know what's going to happen:

You'll get a chance to play it, come to the board within 5 minutes, saying stuff like "it blows, I uninstalled it within 5 minutes, it has nothing against Ps:T" and so on and so forth.

Why even bother?

I played 70% of Gothic2, 80% of Fable and around 80% of Divine Divinity so you cant accuse me of not giving bad games a chance

...except for Morrowind, that became unplayable after just an hour. I just couldnt take it.

Gothic 2 is not a bad game. Sure it can be monotonous at times, story isn't anything special,..., but it is still a very good game, and worth playing.

I would like to know which RPGs are good by your opinion?

I actually thought Morrowind was great at first. I got a good 50+ hours in, which I enjoyed, but then the monotony set in and I realized that everything was the same. combat, NPC

Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story.

I pre-ordered Morrowind from the US when it was released. It is still the most expensive game I ever bought. Ever since I played Daggerfall I had been longing for the follow-up, and in the previews everything looked fantastic, albeit a little brown. Then I got the game, and the start was awesome, as you created your character in-game and I also loved how I was a prisoner on a boat (kind of like Gothic). Then I started playing the game and for a few hours I kept playing with the feeling of "when is it going to fulfill its promises". I think it took me 30 hours to realize that what I was getting was all the game had to offer. It would never fulfill the promises it made and the monotonous gameplay was there to stay.

I've been a bitter enemy of Morrowind ever since. But I do love Daggerfall.

The Fallouts

Planescape: Tormet

KoTOR 1 & 2

Baldurs Gate 2 +ToB

Vampire Bloodlines

Arcanum

..and I also liked NWN, the OC had its flaws but it was still better than anything the jerries could do.

I'd like to see a TES game where there is no "main questline", but rather the story of the game kind of accumulates non-linearly as you wander around and do things like gain rank in factions, network with new NPCs, explore, read books, etc. The latter is really what those games do properly - especially because it lets you pick which gameplay elements you like to do without abandoning a sense of narrative in the game.

If you like to stay in one city and talk to every last guy and explore every nook and cranny that should get you into the meat of the game's story; If you like to walk into uncharted territory and fight weird things in interesting remote locations you can do that too, and so on. They could design it so as to have a network of clues that you can learn from many sources and when you reach some percentage of completion of the network you get a thread that leads to the endgame. On replay or in post-ending play you could get to the clues by other means or fill out different parts of the network to understand different facets of the story.

I really found the main questlines pretty jarring in Morrowind and Daggerfall, since they were so divorced from the stuff that TES does well.

I don't want to be a thief, but Morrowind is one of the few games I actually wish I had pirated instead.

I had a good time with Morrowind for about 2 days. Doing your own thing is appealing but soon grows old if there is no purpose to it. Worst of all I found that when I wanted to get back to the story my character was so powerful it just became dull and pointless.
