Shadowstrider Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 The big question is, how much does an avatar represent the real you, or how you would like to be seen online? Some folks use an avatar to describe their interests. Other folks use an avatar to describe themselves. Still others use avatars to represent the whim of the moment. Folks come to think of the avatar when they think of the person, and the person when they think of or see the avatar. A lot of times, however, the picture in the avatar doesn't represent how folks think of the person. Oerwind would be an excpetion, since he's so thoroughly focused on... dammit... you know, the robot cartoon. Anyhow, he's an exception that proves the rule. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mine is a miniature head-shot of an artist's rendering of the character Shadowstrider. The full version is here.
Cantousent Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Nice, SS. I like the character. Kind of makes you kind of look like an assassin, though. Sammael Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I only change avatars when I find one that better represents my personna. So far, the WAR pit fiend works. There are no doors in Jefferson that are "special game locked" doors. There are no characters in that game that you can kill that will result in the game ending prematurely.
Atreides Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 Wow, I didn't expect 9 pages overnight. Anyway I don't have my original avatar anymore - it was from a cover of Sandman. My current one's cropped from the following picture. Source is on the pic. It turns out better on the larger MSN avatar size. Spreading beauty with my katana.

Archmonarch Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Yep yep, that's the one. It looked like a mushroom-boy to me. Eureka!! Found a pic, but not the pic: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Blasphemy! This is Black Mage, chaotic minion of destruction! All know and fear him! P.S. Hes from the webcomic 8-Bit Theater And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
EnderAndrew Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 That is THE black mage from Final Fantasy.
Archmonarch Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 He was rather lacking in personality there compared to his alternate incarnation. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
Musopticon? Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Yeah, I had a brief period of love for all things destructive. Black mage is the avatar of pointy sharp things, so he was a great avatar choice. Editto: Now it's back to Steam Driver again. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
Calax Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 YAY I LIKE STEAM DRIVER! (he's my favorite from the 6/7 that I've seen you wear.) Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
