Ekkest Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 As much as I love KOTOR:2, I have to vote for Deus Ex.
metadigital Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Wer? was? Wo? Warum? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> God. It's a saying that calls upon "higher forces" to help in times of stress, like when something shocking has surprised the utterer. Heaven. Because he asked. Lancer Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Deus Ex beats the crap out of most games. Lancer
CoM_Solaufein Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Kotor 2 is the only option worth voting on. Baley Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 All of those games are worth voting(well, the PC ones at least). Deus Ex is simply the best game overall.
Shryke Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 definitely Deus Ex (especially with things like the Zodiac mod) when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!
Baley Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 OVERVIEW ZODIAC is a set of six single player missions for Deus Ex. As Paul Denton, the augmented brother of the infamous JC Denton, you will: * Discover why the President is risking a nuclear confrontation. * Break into CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia to uncover some of the world's best kept secrets. * Solve the mystery of dozens of missing UNATCO troops. * Use all-new weapons and meet new characters. * Travel to new locations including: CIA Headquarters Buenos Aires Page Biotech Holloman Air Force Base And more!
Shryke Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 yeah, what Baley said when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!
Tel Aviv Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 It is a game with many fine strokes of genius-...ness. Being reprimanded by Paul for killing on Liberty Island To which I responded with a 'Gott im Himmel?' But the others have their charms also. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm guessing your german considering that i didn't understand "Gott Im Himmel?" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually no, ich bin english. And all the choices have there distinctive perks. For some (nomad soul) it's a nostalgic treat, for others it's the sheer size and overall wonderfulnessness (Deus Ex). As for Jade Empire and TSL they’re both very current enjoyable games, enthralling RPGs despite their many awkward... quirks. I was going to throw some more names into the mix also, perhaps Shenmue I or II, Arcanum, Baldur's Gate II + TOB.
Tel Aviv Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 Yeah,I remember it,the intro made me laugh... Deus Ex,btw... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, it's a pretty odd game, with plenty of sex appeal on offer. Oh, those French and their burning loins! When will they learn? Looking forward to Fahrenheit though.
Baley Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Fahrenheit looks pretty damn good. Demo-wise it's kick ass.

As for this poll, screw these options. 2. Get Beyond Good & Evil. (Dirt cheap by now, but a very modern looking game considering it's only a year old. ) 3. Once you finish Beyond Good & Evil, get either Bloodlines (minorly flawed, but very cheap, and an excellent roleplaying experience), Psychonauts (another excellent game that, similar to Beyond Good & Evil, lacked mass market appeal, cheaper than full price, but somewhat expensive still), or Oddworld: Stranger's Wraith (the last Oddworld game ever, but it's totally awesome...probably still fairly expensive).
Musopticon? Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 If you can get your hands on it I'd really suggest buying Ground Control 2. It's not an rpg, but the bugger has one of the best space opera-plotlines I've ever seen. I know one mag editor made a comparison with Freespace, that my friend is a one-of-a-kind honor. The game is also very tactical, fairly realistic, has variety and, most importantly, is damn fun. Too bad the multiplayer element is a bit lacking. Otherwise GC 2 would have gone to share the stars with such games as Medieval: Total War, Starcraft and Dawn of War. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. 213374U Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Thanks. I went to Planet Deus Ex, but it wasn't there! The installer for the full version is apparently f*cked up. It fails to create the main .exe for the mod. You'll have to download part 2 full and then the part 3 upgrade. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Meshugger Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Deus Ex for me. "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy
Volourn Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 "Jade Empire can be beat in two days." So can KOTOR2. JE is 20-30 hours. KOTOR2 is 25-45 hours. Anyone who disagrees with my two time tables are just plain wrong. Anyways, I personally vote for JE. KOTOR2 is just like its predeessor. A good game; but not a classic. JE is a classic, and is BIO's best game outside of BG2 with ease, and is a top 5 RPG. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
