Pantera-Suicide Note Part 1

Cheap cocaine, a dry inhale, the pills that kill and take the pain away

Diet of life, shelter without, the face that cannot see inside yours and mine

When I'm hiding, when I need it,

it lets me breathe,

for our handle on this life, I don't believe

this time

Would you look at me now?

Can you tell I'm a man?

With these scars on my wrists

To prove I'll try again

Try to die again, try to live through this night

Try to die again.....

Forever fooling, free and using, sliding down the slide that breaks a will

Mothers angel, getting smarter, how smart are you to regress unfulfilled?

It's a damn shame, but who's to blame?

When I'm hiding, when I need it,

it lets me breathe,

for our handle on this life, I don't believe

this time

Would you look at me now?

Can you tell I'm a man?

With these scars on my wrists

To prove I'll try again

Try to die again, try to live through this night

Try to die again.....

master of my domain

Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo.

Pantera-Suicide Note Part 2

Out of my mind,

gun up to the mouth

No pretension, execution, live and learn , rape and turn

Fret not family,

nor pre-judged army

This is for me,

and me only, cowards only

Try it

Don't you try to die, like me

It's livid and it's lies and makes graves

Graves descending down

It's not worth the time to try, to replenish a rotting life

I'll end the problem, facing nothing, **** you off, **** you all

Tortured history, addict of misery, this exposes me

for weakness is a magnet - watch me do it

Don't you try to die, like me

It's livid and it's lies and makes graves

Graves descending down

Why would you help anyone who doesn't want it,

doesn't need it, doesn't want your **** advice

when a mind's made up to go ahead and die?

What's done is done and gone, so why cry?

Don't you try to die, like me

It's livid and it's lies and makes graves

Graves descending down

master of my domain

Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo.

Ministry-Jesus Built My Hotrod

Soon I discovered that this rock thing was true

Jerry lee lewis was the devil

Jesus was an architect previous to his career as a prophet

All of a sudden, I found myself in love with the world

So there was only one thing that I could do

Was ding a ding dang my dang a long ling long

Ding dang a dong bong bing bong

Ticky ticky thought of a gun

Everytime I try to do it all now baby

Am I on the run

Why why why why why baby

Warren Zevon - Studebaker

I left my home in Monterey

Just another low prospects man

I'd rather work in the foundry

Than put fishes in a can

I'm 35, and I haven't traveled far

And I've spent all my money on this misbegotten car

I'm up against it all

Like a leaf against the wind

And my Studebaker keeps on breaking down again

My Studebaker keeps breaking down again

I thought I'd go to Fresno

Just to see my friend

But my damn Studebaker keeps on breaking down again

I was speeding south on 99

When the manifold started smokin'

I ran her off the shoulder

And now the axel's broken

It made a sound that cracked my heart in half

And with only a half a half pint of vodka left

I'm up against it all

Like a leaf against the wind

And my Studebaker keeps on breaking down again

My Studebaker keeps breaking down again

I thought I'd go to Fresno

Just to see my friend

But this damn Studebaker keeps on breaking down again

Milk

I woke up, can't wait to eat

Got my cereal, boy was I beat

Opened the fridge, and to my dismay

There was no milk, my mother will pay

I want some milk, my coffee grows cold

I want some milk, I should've been told

I wish I had some god damn milk

My Cheerios just ain't the same

I wish I had some god damn milk

Too bad the milkman never came

I can't go out to the store

I'll just wait till my mother buys more

I'll just have wheat thins and beer

If I get sick, the toilet is near

I don't expect anyone to know these lyrics except for Drabs:

the Plastic Hearts/ and I wait

Summers gone somehow and now I don't have all the answers

your worried eyes will make you look sincere

its troubled times intertwined and now I'm bleeding for the reasons

somehow its just never clear

So Maybe I'll be better off without you

Tell me 'cos I'm dying here without you

Do you understand that I'd struggle through barbed wire

just to get to you

to find you somewhere in between

I crawl back to you

to find you somewheres in between

There's a lesson learned in time and for that I should be thankful

forgiveness in the form of your note

so your laughin loud your laughin like I owe you something

I guess you didn't get the joke

So Maybe I'll be better off without you

Tell me 'cos I'm dying here without you

Do you understand that I'd struggle through barbed wire

just to get to you

to find you somewhere in between

I crawl back to you

to find you somewheres in between

I'm a party-shatter, but that was rather on the lame side. I don't mean that lyrics should be all rugged rock poetry or something written on a napkin while sipping absinthe and listening to Debussy, but...barbed wire? Dying without you? Come on. Get some spine.

It's not just the lyrics its the way he sings them. It's kind of an old school countryish song. Sorry it doesn't compete with all the metal songs posted in this thread. I guess you're entitled to your opinion, even if its wrong

Depeche Mode - Monument (Broken Frame)

When the site was found

We laid the foundations down

It didn't take long before

They came back tumbling down

Don't build at night

You need a little light

How else you going to see

What it's going to be like

So we picked up our tools

And we worked in the morning light

With the last stone placed

Wasn't it a wonderful sight

But it fell back down

And scattered all around

Anything passes

When you need glasses

My monument - It fell down

My monument - It fell down

Work all of my days for this kind of praise

It fell down

Work all of my days - it fell down

Nerf Herder - Vivian

Electronic drums and synthesizers

Angular haircuts and black eyeliner

We'll start a new wave band

And then I'll make you mine

You'll play the keyboards

And everything will be alright

We'll show the soc's

We'll show the jocks

We'll show the heshers

We can't be stopped

Come on Vivian

Put your glasses on

Yeah you've gone away to med school

And I've gone out of my mind

Flock of Seagulls really busted out

Haysi Fantayzee made all of the kids shout

We've got a microphone and its made out of plastic

We've got a show tonight, it's gonna be classic

We'll take on the world and MTV

We'll rock the Math club Christmas party

Come on Vivian

Put your glasses on

Yeah you've gone away to med school

And I've gone out of my mind

Put 'em on...

Theory of a Deadman - "Last Song"

The light that's in your eyes, like everyone wants it to be

Well can't you see that it must be this way

Who knows who's wrong or right, just as long as you're here tonight

Just like my mother, always taking my likings away

When nobody's watching us

I missed the last song

I blame myself for just standing there too long

I missed the last song

I blame myself for just standing there

I miss the love, I miss the holidays

I miss my best friend, cheap cigars, stupid kids and movie stars

And just like my father, always taking my likings away

When nobody's watching us

I missed the last song

I blame myself for just standing there too long

I missed the last song

I blame myself for just standing there too long

Why does it feel like this world is just not for us

Why does it feel like this world's all they've got for us

Why does it feel like nobody's watching us

I missed her sweet smell, I miss it everyday

I miss my best friend, cheap cigars, stupid kids and movie stars

And I missed the last song and I miss you

And this time this one's for us

I missed the last song

I blame myself for just standing there too long

I missed the last song

I blame myself for just standing there too long

I missed the last song

I missed the last song

I missed the last song

I missed the last song

I don't know if anyone else knows Absynthe Minded, since it's a Belgian band, but their latest song is world class! Be sure to check it out.

Absynthe Minded - My Heroics, Part One

Enough said, the make-shift is a comfortable chair

Sit back and I'll tell you we're living in fear

And I don't know why you talk so rough

And why should I be not sure of

Myself and my intentions, they are crystal clear

I wanna pay my duty to your daddy dear

And hold on to your decency

I'll make you whole and we'll be free

Isn't it always so?

The story is unfold, at least

You got a different role

And now you gotta quit the scene

I favour your flavour I'm confronting you

You stroke a bad patch with the man who has you

And baby won't you consider me

I'll make you whole and we'll be free

And we're driving along On a saturday night

Cool stuff... I especially like the "I favor your flavor" part.

I love Belgian beer, so I suppose I might like like a Belgian band. Might have to check it out.

Plus, Absynthe Minded is a great band name.

Richard Marx

Hazard

My mother came to hazard when I was just seven

Even then the folks in town said with prejudiced eyes

That boy's not right

Three years ago when I came to know Mary

First time that someone looked beyond the rumors and the lies

And saw the man inside

We used to walk down by the river

She loved to watch the sun go down

We used to walk along the river

And dream our way out of this town

No one understood what I felt for Mary

No one cared until the night she went out walking alone

And never came home

Man with a badge came knocking next morning

Here was I surrounded by a thousand fingers suddenly

Pointed right at me

I swear I left her by the river

I swear I left her safe and sound

I need to make it to the river

And leave this old Nebraska town

I think about my life gone by

And how it's done me wrong

There's no escape for me this time

All of my rescues are gone, long gone

I swear I left her by the river

I swear I left her safe and sound

I need to make it to the river

And leave this old Nebraska town

If I tell you I'm good

You would probably think I'm boasting

If I tell you I'm no good

You know I'm lying

Pearl Jam - I Am Mine

The selfish, they're all standing in line

Faithing and hoping to buy themselves time

Me, I figure as each breath goes by

I only own my mind

The North is to South what the clock is to time

There's east and there's west and there's everywhere

life

I know I was born and I know that I'll die

The in between is mine

I am mine

And the feeling, it gets left behind

All the innocence lost at one time

Significant, behind the eyes

There's no need to hide

We're safe tonight

The ocean is full 'cause everyone's crying

The full moon is looking for friends at hightide

The sorrow grows bigger when the sorrow's denied

I only know my mind

I am mine

And the meaning, it gets left behind

All the innocents lost at one time

Significant, behind the eyes

There's no need to hide

We're safe tonight

And the feelings that get left behind

All the innocents broken with lies

Significance, between the lines

(We may need to hide)

And the meanings that get left behind

All the innocents lost at one time

We're all different behind the eyes

There's no need to hide

I had thought that some of nature's journeymen had made men and not made them well, for they imitated humanity so abominably. - Book of Counted Sorrows

Everything Goes To Hell

(Tom Waits/Kathleen Brennan 2000)

Why be sweet, why be careful, why be kind?

A man has only one thing on his mind

Why ask politely, why go lightly, why say please?

They only want to get you on your knees

There's a few things that I never could believe

A woman when she weeps

A merchant when he swears

A thief who says he'll pay

A lawyer when he cares

A snake when he is sleeping

A drunkard when he prays

I don't believe you go to heaven when you're good

And everything goes to hell, anyway

Laissez-faire mi amour, ce la vie

Shall I return to shore or swim back out to sea?

The world don't care what a sailor does in town

It's all hanging in the windows by the pound

I don't believe you go to heaven when you're good

Everything goes to hell, anyway

I only want to hear you purr and to hear you moan

You have another man who brings the money home

I don't want dishes in the sink

Don't ask me what I feel or what I think

There's a few things that I never could believe

A woman when she weeps

A merchant when he swears

A thief who says he'll pay

A lawyer when he cares

A snake when he is sleeping

A drunkard when he prays

I don't believe you go to heaven when you're good

Everything goes to hell, anyway

Everything goes to hell, anyway

Oh, everything goes to hell, anyway

I think it's about time to resurrect Ye Olde Lyrics Thread (again).

The Replacements - Answering Machine

Try to breathe some life into a letter

Losing hope, never gonna be together

My courage is at its peak

You know what I mean?

How do say you're okay

To an answering machine?

How do you say good night to

An answering machine?

Big time's got its losers

Small town's got its vices

A handful of friends

One needs a match, one needs some ice

Call-waiting phone in another time zone

How do you say 'I miss you'

To an answering machine?

How do say good night to

An answering machine?

I get enough of that

Try to free a slave of ignorance

Try and teach a whore about romance

How do you say 'I miss you'

To an answering machine?

How do you say good night to

An answering machine?

How do you say 'I'm lonely'

To an answering machine?

The message is very plain

Oh, I hate your answering machine

I hate your answering machine

I hate your answering machine...

Theatre of Tragedy

Mire

Harken! - the clouds mustered in dark -

So painfully easing.

Hush! - hearest ye the yew doting;

Its years of yore in a mire,

Each like a corpse within its grave;

Wrought for us a yearn of lief;

Tis not a lore of bale nor loathe;

Harmony and aesthesia are its blisses;

Ne'er ere hath it exist'd so sonorously -

Jostl'd away the pale drape

That us had been o'erhung -

Tempt'd thy shutters to open

And thus quench'd the hearth;

Thou giv'st to misery all thou hast: the cold -

With weal embrac'd the sprounting landscape

Like a star of heaven in the broad daylight -

This joy subdueth until it again waneth,

Save the drooping winter of stalwart.

Brand New - "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows"

We saw the western coast

I saw the hospital

Nursed the shoreline like a wound

Reports of lover's tryst

Were neither clear nor descript

We kept it safe and slow

The quiet things that no one ever knows

[Chorus: x2]

So keep the blood in your head

And keep your feet on the ground

If today's the day it gets tired

Today's the day we drop out

Gave up my body and bed

All for an empty hotel

Wasting words on lower cases and capitals

I contemplate the day we wed

Your friends are boring me to death

Your veil is ruined in the rain

By then it's you I can do without

There's nothing new to talk about

And though our kids are blessed

Their parents let them shoulder all the blame

[Chorus: x2]

So keep the blood in your head

And keep your feet on the ground

If today's the day it gets tired

Today's the day we drop out

Gave up my body and bed

All for an empty hotel

Wasting words on lower cases and capitals

[bridge: x2]

I lie for only you

And I lie well...

Hallelu...

[Chorus: x2 (words from bridge continued in the background)]

So keep the blood in your head

And keep your feet on the ground

Today's the day it gets tired

Today's the day we drop out

Gave up my body and bed

All for an empty hotel

Wasting words on lower cases and capitals

I had thought that some of nature's journeymen had made men and not made them well, for they imitated humanity so abominably. - Book of Counted Sorrows
