2) Ranged weapons, unfortunely in KOTOR were next to useless. Everyone whos played KOTOR and been forced to use Carth knows how he misses half the time, and when he does hit does next to no damage. Dexterity should have added damage like strength did, and ranged weapons should be better than they were.

B) (Correction) : It is false If carth is prvided with good goggles and calo Nords Blasters he rOcKs . B)

What do you mean the dark side couldn’t do any damage?

Death field is one of my favourite powers. And you can’t forget insanity; the only really crap DS powers were ‘kill’ and ‘plague’.

Well thank you Captain Not Read All Prior Posts, the fact that I meant that the Dark Side did no damage at the end of the game, due to the huge amount of immunity and resisting, obviously doesn't mean anything to you.

Sorry; I was too busy owning the starforge people with these DS powers you say were resisted too much :p

well, a major flaw in kotor was the lack of camera control - not even a zoom in/out option

Camera control was cool what is that with zoom option . ;)

You just wanted to zoom on Joelles breast dint you?

I was saying that if camera control was not to be implemented zoom would be nice too - zoom out it's clear how would have done all more interesting but also in some fights i would have liked to get in-close to see them, or to get close to a character to see how it fits in the new armor - though Jolee did make a fine woman for a man :lol:

The biggest flaw was that many of the options in the game was feigned roleplaying, with no real impact except a ls/ds point or two here and there.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

Hmmm...I didn't find that to be much of a problem... Then again I haven't done much hardcore crpgs... I know that as an ff player (or ex-ff player as I only play the old stuff now) I found the game to be very big on roleplaying. Also, even if it didn't impact the game much, the decisions were done well enough to make me care about what happened. I felt bad when I did DS stuff, I felt good doing LS stuff.

My gripe would probably be either the commonly stated difficulty factor or the less common view (that I always spout) about them not having enough sidequest stuff. I've stated before (frequently) I'd like harder (well...maybe) and more extensive sidequests that you actually benefit from completing, like getting rare equipment or maybe alot of exp or both. It seemed alot of KOTOR sidequests were there for flavor more than actually affecting anything. I would also like (this goes along with the sidequests) an uber-hard optional boss. My whole sidequest view is probably influenced by Final Fantasy.

Those are my only big gripes I can think of now that this crew hasn't addressed. Other things, like the underpowered Consulars, weak ranged, random miscelanious stuff, and how everything comes down to violence no matter what, they seem to have fixed or at least tried to fix.

There are all new powers and feats. The Consulars may be considerably different. The crew has addressed ranged weapons. And they've worked to make skills more useful.

Exactly. Those are the problems I was saying that I think the crew has under control and has fixed (or is working on fixing). Read my post again. I list the problems that we haven't seen much indication of being fixed (or we just haven't been given much information about) or the ones that are alot harder to nail down than just adding a couple of feats.

I am one of the people who feel that ranged weapons werent bad at all.  I have played through the game a few times only using ranged weapons and it was actually pretty easy and I liked it alot.

Thank you that is all.

Are you saying that you didn't use a lightsaber at all? I mean comon your not trying to pull one over on me, are you? You took out everyone in the game with a some dinky pistol or clumsy rifle, right?

The most highly damaging ranged weapon I say in the entire game, if I remember correctly, was a disruptor rifle, got off a dead mercenary by Calo Nord on Water-Fish-Planet. It did, I think, 7-16 damage. My current character does 16-40 damage not to mention hitting twice since it's a double lightsaber.

I frankly don't believe you when say "only using ranged weapons." At least make your lie a little more believable next time and say something like "the Jehanie Super Zapping Insti-Kill Cannon was AWESOME"

Ok yah where did you get this information, and is there a link. It's probably because this topic, cause you know credit I dont deserve is always nice.

I've set it before, and I'll say it again. Give Carth two Barangwin assault blades, have the moody fellow flurry, and he pwns.

Actually, ranged combat works very well in the arena on Taris. Run, run, run, turn, fire, run, run, run!

So far as force wave goes, I much prefered being a scoundrel/rogue with a double bladed lightsabre, master speed, flurry, and stasis field. La-de-da. Five hits with sneak attack damage.

Then you get to Malak, and you, having terrible, terrible hitpoints, get massacred. *sulks*

I noticed this as well, everyone kept saying your light side, dark side choices would have impact, and frankly they didn't till the very end of the game, which by the way forced you to kill off all your best characters if you were dark side.

well, that is correct it has been said before that the ls/ds had not depth but about the charaacters i have to disagree - the best character is canderous - i have never seen him fall in battle and i played all the game with him when i went ds - he was the last man standing even in the fight against those trandoshans on the yavin station which in my opinion was the hardest fight in the game ( i played at hardest dificulty )

i disagree about candy i think he was the 2nd or 3rd best my fav was jolee. in my game im workin on now im makin him a walking force using tank makin him really strong and givin him armor and all that good ****

the force is what gives a jedi his power. its an energy field created by all living things. it surrounds us and penetrates us. it binds the galaxy together

well, if you give him armour, doesn't that restrict some of his force powers ? that's not very smart

ya it does thats why i give him powers like force choke so that he can still use them

I believe I had Cassus Fetts heavy pistol in one hand, and Mandalorean heavy pistol in the other hand. I mastered all the weapons and had master rapid shot. I got in about 45+ damage each turn. And I never once pulled out a lightsaber or sword.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.

The most damaging ranged weapon [that isn't bought on the Yavin station] is the sith assassin pistol you get from Saul's corpse. It can do 9-21 points of damage if you have the specialization feat for pistol. ;)

Ps: Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. ;)

bowcasters own especially zaalbars ..i like em cos they have green blasts which makes a change from the repetetive red blasts of just about EVERY blaster in the game ( except mandalorian blasters...or ordo's light repeating blaster)

Humm thats an odd reason to like a ranged weapon, but unconformity is always good so I'll accept it. In actual Star Wars lore the Bowcaster just propels huge lead exposives and Chewbacca's Bowcaster was upgraded to encase the shells with plasma, so only Chewbacca's Bowcaster would have any laser effects. Also interestingly the green color of the blasters are produced by the a standard imperial plasma gas.

man, chuundar's bowcaster was better than zaalbar's and the best heavy weapon in the game was ...can't remember the name, haven't played in a while - it's bought from the "tow headed freak" near your landing site on tattoine, where you can buy the poison for the gizka

Did anyone really think that skills weren't useful in KOTOR, cause I thought stuff like skills, charisma, and Force Persuade was pretty useful. But I have no way to support that seeing how I never used them. I just remember being caught in situations where skills, charisma, and Force Persuation would have benefited me. So did anyone really think that skills weren't useful in KOTOR?
