I dont think some random second hand yahoo report courced from "Sci Fi wire" is representative of "the media". Its just someone trying to make a lame joke.

Still, during Jacko's recent trial the media out him to still be a huge superstar.

 

Last time I checked, his last two or three albums completely bombed and I don't know anyone who honestly cares one way or the other about him, yet the press continue to write about him.

The albums didn't bomb (well maybe invincible) they just didnt sell phenomenally like Thriller.

While he is past his prime he still has a huge fanbase around the world and the respect of peers.
