It makes all those slip-of-the-tongues (the flirt lines) more interesting and when she *finally* gives in the at the end it's more fulfilling too see how she's changed. Besides as someone said she's the only romance you get to kiss. I don't understand all this Carth and Bastila love. I seriously thought those were extremely irritating characters from the very beginning, and so far I've only seen a very few people explaining why they're so incredible. But hey, maybe you have to be a guy to admire Bastila (or whatever)? Carth, on the other hand, is the one whom I might be more understanding about, but hey, isn't that because he's like the only guy in Kotor1 party that's not old (jolee " ) and that you are able to interact with in a flirty way (for example, I doubt canderous even has the word romance in his vocabulary)?
