Diogo Ribeiro Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Just don't count the Fantastic Four in that group. I just got home and that entire movie screams "RENTER!!!". I thought the Hulk started off slow but this flick takes the cake... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But how good is the movie?
Darth Flatus Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Saw the Kong trailer last night and now i am on the positive side of indifference towards the film
Kor Qel Droma Posted July 9, 2005 Author Posted July 9, 2005 I don't want to bash the FF movie too much, because I'm kind of a bitter person. I'd much rather let people make their own opinions. The Human Torch was pretty cool, the Thing just doesn't look like the Thing without that crown that passes for his eyebrows, and Jessica Alba can't act. Aside from that, it seemed they made the mood kinda light, a lot of one liners. Everyone in the theatre (which was nearly full, but it was one of the smaller rooms) had a good laugh. But it started off really slow, IMO. I really can't see myself rushing out to watch it again. And the King Kong trailer at the beginning was nice, but for some reason Kong doesn't seem quite so big. I was kinda hoping for a teaser for X3, but what can you do... Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Darth Flatus Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 They havent even started filming anything for X3 in fact i'm not sure they even have a final draft of the script!!! X3 will be a rush job.... hmm reminds me of something else "

mkreku Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Weird. I was under the impression that most everyone agreed that, while the LotR-films were technical and financial successes, they aren't exactly the pinnacle of movie directing? They all seem rather.. blunt. Peter Jackson has a flair for effects, settings and effective story-telling, but creating believable characters isn't exactly one of his strong points. Did anyone but me see the (excellent) movie Heavenly Creatures? Even though I liked the film, it makes it quite obvious that Peter Jackson has some limitations in his directing skills (even though he's developed a lot since then). EnderAndrew Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 I love Heavenly Creatures. Personally I've been a big fan of his entire body of work.
Blarghagh Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Am I the only one who adores his early work such as Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles? That stuff was hilarious.
