I mean, even a non NPC like Yuthura Ban had more depth than say Mira or Bao Dur or Handmaiden. And thats what I miss in Kotor II.

I have to disagree with that. If anything, the NPCs in KOTOR II were much more indepth than the ones in KOTOR I. IMO, that's the one area that TSL improved upon vastly.

I'm curious if you were able to get Mira, Bao-dur or Handmaiden's full story? Because the only way you'd think Yuthura Ban had more depth was if you failed to get full influence with them.

I have always got full influence with these characters and turned them into Jedi.

A lot of posts on the subject so I am confident my two cents has probably been covered by other members but anyhow I wish to add my two cents.

Kotor 2 was good gameplay wise but its story really did fall way below par. So many floors to list the characters background to me felt rushed and poorly meshed together just didnt have that quality flow of kotor 1 and Influence became annoying having to constantly earn light side points to get much of the story. The male and Female exile versions were different with desciple and handmaiden. desciple had story knowledge and handmaiden was a seductress offering no story at all. Kreia was a nut if anyone understood Kotor 1's story of Revan trying to be strategic the following could be draw why would revan destroy malachor V when its in tact use would be more adventageous long term wise?, why hk couldnt mimik kreia to unlock the navicomputer yes i know she locked it she admitted it on peragus if u missed it? why would Kreia weaken the republic when it was Revans aim to keep it strong possibly to be prepared for the true sith.

For Kotor 3 I would like to see decent robes, green robes not that cool looking didnt find any hooded ones for my main character, decent masks and different colours instead of the same white coloured yellow visor ones all the time. Lightsabres were good in kotor 2. Decent characters with good and strong stories and each character should flow well with the overall party and communicate with each other not just when on the ship like kotor 2. Influence bored me as characters interupted my dark side quest. didnt like random items i usually got a lot of rubbish. Dont make all characters jedi they lose their unique quality as characters that way. lastly a good Story.

Suggestions well make more use of ancient sith tablets, writings and talismens and gems to learn new more powerful powers or enhance abilities as opposed to stimulants could be good for the improved story. I find it odd that holocrons existed by the ancient sith when kotor 1 had tablets and objects like ancient egypt but who knows although if they have holocrons why have they not invaded the whole galaxy. Id like to explore more of this archeological aspect. Revan was a master linguist so perhaps he could understand it and thus able to learn secrets of the ancient sith.

ps

I hope kotor 3 adds the game of Dejarik hope i spelt it right sounds like a game of either chess or battleships or a mix love to see that as chess is my cup of tea compared to pazaak.

As far as Dejarak I guess it could be in KOTOR III, but did the game actually exist around the KOTOR timeline. lol, who the hell would know that right? :D But I guess it would be different and add another side-game, so I'm all for it.

At least it's not Pazzak " . Life is boring when all you have to fill up your time when your broke is play Pazzak....

Pazaak would probably be more interesting if there was a mutliplayer version (I do not mean playing with another human player).

What I mean is having a variation that is somewhat like Texas Hold 'Em in that there are several players at the table at one time, each with full voice over. that would help create a more casino-like feel.

How would that work, though? In a casino, all the players play a single dealer.

Even more obscure blackjack-type games, like Seven-and-a-Half, rely on a set dealer (who keeps the deal until beaten or twice through the deck), and the dealer has an advantage.

Poker might work, but then again, I wonder how much of a betting game can be included without affecting the rating ...

well, Pazaak is a betting game already, even though there are opportunities to play it without betting.

as far as multiplayer goes, I think Blackjack is a good example...yes, the rules would have to be altered somewhat for this kind of play but it could work.

I enjoy casino video games with voice over....I think that would make a big difference to the experience.

My Gameplay suggestions :

No random Items (Finding stims, parts and medpacs over and over is boring).

Have more interesting and rare items that are diffucult to get and have special abilites and a bit of history about them.

Have different animations for each of the different lightsaber forms

Less loading times. or at least design the levels around having few loading times (lol, Telos is sooo bad for that).

I want to upgrade the Ebon Hawk (or whatever ship ive got) and have more space battles (these are actually good now that the lasers hit the other ships).

Fully Customizable "PC" .. like Skin Colour, Hair, beard, eyes etc....

I dont want to fight constant wave after wave of animals and beasts like in KotOR II, It feels lazy and careless design doing this.

I dont want to visit planets that ive already been to in KoToR I and II.

A really dramatic ending would be good. E.g In KotOR I , It has the epic space battle, the fight inside space station and the 1 on 1 lightsaber dual. I want that in KotOR III :(

I want to play this Dejarik game

I just don't understand why they'd put so much more effort into a part of the game that isn't very important. If you wanna play a casino game, play a casino game. I play pazaak on the occasional playthrough, but to me pazaak could go and I wouldn't miss it one bit.

I don't think they spent too much time on it, and it made some players fairly happy. Optional portions of the game are optional. If you don't care for Pazaak, you're not forced to play it.

I don't think they spent so much time on it either, but if we start talking VO and expanded rules, I'm suddenly not so sure anymore. Besides, the VO for a pazaak game would probably get really old really fast, so I say nay!

I wouldn't mind seeing Pazaak tourneys, especially if you couldn't save between hands. But I don't think Pazaak should be a huge feature in the game.

Sounds like we are agreed, then.

Great list! I really like all of those planets!

All the planets I want to see are there, except for Khar Delba/Khar Shian.

Not sure about Ossus, though - it doesn't seem to make much sense so shortly after it became a casualty of Exar Kun during the Sith War...

I was a little disappointed with Telos and Dantooine. We settled a government contract dispute, but we didn't really face the real after-effects of a war ravaged society.

Hmm, well I don't need a VO to play it. I would like to see the rules standardised, though; I see that more as a deal-breaker than a VO! Right now I can create any card I want, and duplicate a dozen of 'em, stick it in my side deck and play.

So, I want a Star * card; which adds 1-10 to my total. And I want a side-deck full of them.

The way the AI gets around this is to create "random" card draws, regardless of what has been drawn from the "pack". Who knows what a deck of pazaak cards contains: we've never seen one. How many of each denomination of card is there? Do we cut a specific subsection or random sample out? Etcetra.

You'd have to codify these things first, otherwise everybody would be researching new and exciting wildcards for their side deck, like a "SuperStar" ** card that adds 1-19 to the total!

Getting some sort of passing time effect wouldnt hurt. Dont know how long KOTOR II is from start to finish (in game time) but it dosnt feel like weeks are passing.

I have to agree with Volourn.  Bioware is pretty much dead now.  Deals like this kills development studios.
