Rambutaan Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Sorry to post another question about patches but I did a search and only found threads where you had people condeming OE about how long they take to make a patch or people defending them. I remember one of the developers mentioning there was going to be a follow-up patch to 1.0b that came out recently that would fix the quality of the sound files for KOTOR 2. I was just wondering if this patch has been INCORPORATED into the 1.0b patch already or if it's going to be part of another patch (e.g. 1.0c) - just wondering since I don't intend to play KOTOR 2 until this patch is released... Thank you kindly, Mark G
BattleCookiee Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 All they said can be found here: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...ic=33276&st=105 and here: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=33288 Expect it SOON
11XHooah Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 It's going to be a separate patch because they could not fit it into the 1.0b patch. Supposively, this next patch will be coming out in "a few days", but we all know how that will turn out. War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. --John Stewart Mill-- "Victory was for those willing to fight and die. Intellectuals could theorize until they sucked their thumbs right off their hands, but in the real world, power still flowed from the barrel of a gun.....you could send in your bleeding-heart do-gooders, you could hold hands and pray and sing hootenanny songs and invoke the great gods CNN and BBC, but the only way to finally open the roads to the big-eyed babies was to show up with more guns." --Black Hawk Down-- MySpace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendid=44500195

Let's just hope that LA doesn't hold it up again Great work by the way Obsidian. War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. Illbleed Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 W00t I really thought this patch is a OE fairy tale that never will be realized. Let's see what's coming .....

This is gonna take forever I think... Considering the size of the patch, LA is gonna spend a lot of time "testing" it.
Marka Ragnos Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 it shouldn't cause any bugs because all it's doing is replacing files. I guess they would just have to watch all the videos and listen to all the music, which shouldn't take too long but they'll probably for no reason bug test the hell out of this patch.
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 We're done with that btw... just has to go through the bureaucracy/QA and all that fun stuff... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So, we will see it by the time NWN 2 is released? Harvey
Maverick4101 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Not to sound like a Lucasarts Fanboy, but they are QA'ing the Episode 3 game and probably helping some with Star Wars Galaxies expansion, not to mention all the hand held crap coming out. Bad time right now to get LA's undivided attention.

Thanks for the clarification - thanks to all that replied too . Looking forward to this new patch.
Darth Flatus Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Wishful thinking but could they scrap the score of TSL and instead add the score for episode 3? There is some dark and poignant sh*t going on there. Pleeeeeeeeez?
Darth Flatus Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 That sounds like a good DIY idea but i would rathe rthe professionals do it since they would know where to put the cues and to how to cut it together etc.
Rosbjerg Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I've always wondered about the name of patches .. the first was 2.00424 and the second was 2.10427 .. Fortune favors the bald.

It is odd that Lucasarts seems to be giving the patch QA a finer comb then some would claim the game has received. " But hey, since NWN2 has internal testing it should be less subject to politiking, in theory at least

BattleCookiee Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 You would expect testing a few file replacements to go rather quickly. It is odd that Lucasarts seems to be giving the patch QA a finer comb then some would claim the game has received. " And yet very obvious bugs aren't noticed (Telos Academy Anyone???) Just like the very obvious things like: TSF Escaped Criminals Fuel For Telos Redemption ...in the full game (to take 3/38490452984709843) They don't seem to have tested KotOR II before its release, it is never too late to make good... Except when the patch get 4x the amount of time and causes new bugs above the 98% of unfixed ones... Except when they try to Test something that can't break anything anyway...

Nur Ab Sal Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Is it 2006 already? Nope. So why you're asking so early. HERMOCRATES: Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned. SOCRATES: This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.
juice99 Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Is it 2006 already? Nope. So why you're asking so early. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> becouse someone said it is done already 2 weeks ago, and just has to go through some bureaucracy/QA. What it has to do with year date, which you can check anywhere ? Well nothing. And this is the place to ask about patch, the same way as calendar is the place to see actual date i thought i miss it on some news page or something. ( wasnt checking for more than 2 weeks )
Mark Havel Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Unfortunately, it seems that "a few days" means "a few months" for LucasArts...
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Its not just Lucas Arts its also Obsidian. They are both to blame, remember that. Harvey
