Plano Skywalker
Not sure anymore what i want in kotor 3. I know two stand out that i would to see a two part story exile/revan stories. i know would closure to the story of revan. personally i would like play as revan again and fight the good fight and get the girl in the end. this saga should have ending or tragic ending depending what path you walk. and i realize i might critize for refering revan as man but in my games that what he is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think it would be easier to deal with in 2 different games. In other words, we really need to wrap up both Revan and Exile's story. I like the idea of having Exile as your mentor in the LS version and having Revan as your mentor in the DS version. If you have the LS shrinkwrap, Revan is alluded to and wrapped up in conversation. If you have the DS shrinkwrap, Exile is alluded to and wrapped up in conversation. Retnuh
*I have been asked to repost these ideas in this forum.* A few ideas I would like to see incorporated into K3, or even a K2 remake (cross fingers). Force Powers - I never did like the idea of losing a force power when I went up a level. Example, losing force push to force whirlwind. I would like to be able to use all the force powers I have acquired. I would think that if your force meter is close to zero, you should be able to use force powers that do not cost as much. Actually, I would be happy if force whirlwind was forgotten altogether. In my opinion it is the lamest power. Force push and force wave are just fine. I would like the ability to use both though. Maybe make force push a little more powerful. Some stuations call for a push and some need a wave. - When fighting dark jedi/jedi (depending on if you are good or bad) allow them to actually USE their force powers. Sion did not use any against me and Kreia used very few (besides force drain). They do control the force don
Midnight
What I'd like to see implemented in KOTOR 3: INFLUENCE SYSTEM & CLASS UPGRADING I'd like to see the influence system improved, both by adding in more spots to influence party members, and actually implement(if possible) multiple influence gains/losses per influence spot. Say, if you were to kill some merchant, 1 party member would voice their displeasure in your actions & you lose influence with them, while the other party member would embrace your actions and you'd gain influence with them. I'd also enjoy seeing an altering to the final influence-to-Jedi system. What I mean by that is, keep the "NPC can become a Jedi" part of the system, but also add in new upgrade classes for characters, just in case players want become something else. And you would get to choose which direction their class change would go to. But make sure to make the NPC upgrades logically flow with their established characters. What I'm visioning would go something like: 1)Soldier- would upgrade into either a Ranger/Stormtrooper(ranged based) or a Blademaster(melee based), with bonus feats alligned for either choice. As a Jedi, if you chose to upgrade them into, they'd become either a Guardian or a Sentinel. 2)Scout- would upgrade into either a Bounty Hunter(ranged based) or a melee based class of appropriate name. As a Jedi, they'd be the ONLY NPC class that could become either a Sentinel, Consular or a Guardian. 3)Scoundrel- would upgrade into a Mercenary(ranged based) or a melee based class of appropriate name. As a Jedi, they'd become a Consular or a Sentinel. 4)Tech Specialist- would upgrade into a Sabouteur(melee based) or a Commando(ranged based) with bonus feats alligned both for either choice, and with new stealth based ones, since they could actually achieve their goals without anyone knowing. As a Jedi, they'd be the only NPC class that was locked into a single choice as a Sentinel. 5)Combat Droid- would upgrade into Assassin Droid(with extra weapon feats available, such as Weapon Specializations) & a new Targeting feat(say Targeting: Accuracy, Targeting: Crippling & Targeting: Pinpoint) 6)Expert Droid- would upgrade into Battle Droid(pretty much a Combat Droid, but with a new feat or stat(say, a +2 to CON & DEX) or 2 added in. This would give players alot more flexibility in deciding what their NPC's would become, as well as have the benefit of upping replayability(some selections are obviously more Dark Side that others, and you'd want to see the ultimate paths for each character under each choice, hopefully). CHARACTER EQUIP SCREEN I like the format as it stands, but I'd like to see a small change to what is already implemented, with a new equipment slot: Back. With this new slot, I'd like to see these items included for equipping: 1)Backpacks: you could create a few different backpacks for the different classes, having -1 that boosts Demolition, Awareness & DEX(usable for your Ranger/Stormtrooper & Commando builds -1 that was a jetpack for a bounty hunter or a non-Guardian Jedi build(would basically grant a Force Jump to your character...it would require a feat learned to equip this) -random stat/feat improving power packs for your droid characters 2)Capes: granted these would moreso be just for cosmetic purposes, but they'd be cool to have. If they needed to be balanced for functionality, they could do so by adding a -1 to your character's DEX. Otherwise, they'd serve in the same way that clothing does now(i.e. just cosmetic looks only, with no stat boosting). UPGRADING EXISTING EQUIPMENT/NEW IDEAS I wouldn't mind seeing helmets added in for headgear, both face covering & face exposed. And they could be tuned in the same way that existing headgear is now. I'd also like to see a small change in robes. The graphical upgrade from the Jedi tunics into actual Jedi robes for KOTOR 2 was wonderful, but some players wished that they could raise & lower the robe hoods. What I'm suggesting is that you don't implement that cosmetic ability(except for possibly in a cut scene), but that you modify the existing robes looks. I'd do this with a 3-robe design: 1)Padawan robes-would return to the KOTOR 1 tunic appearance(stats could be kept as they currently are now) 2)Jedi Knight/Master/Dark Jedi/Baron Do Sage robes- these would retain the current KOTOR 2 appearance & stats 3)Sylvar's/Jolee's/Aleema Keto's/any other named robes- these special robes would all add a +1/+2 to WIS(in addition to whatever other stats they improved), and would all be redesigned to have the hoods up upon the character's heads POSSIBLE RETURNING & PLAYABLE CHARACTERS What I'd like to see as a returning playables list: -HK-47 -T3-M4(face it, these 2 are the R2 & 3PO of this series) -Mira(playable only if you're LS) -Bralor(make is where Mandalore instructed him to accompany you to find Revan & Exile, or have it where he wants to study/find Reven & Exile after the "lessons" he's learned after the Mandalorian Wars & the loss in the Battle Circle) -Mission Vao(we never learned her fate after KOTOR 1, and she wants to find Revan; playable only if you're LS) -Zaalbar(playable only if you're LS) -Hanharr(playable only if you're DS) What I'd like to see as a returning non-playable, yet still interacting with you list: -Admiral Carth Onasi -Visas Marr(if there's a choice as to if the Exile was LS or DS, she would appear only if you choose LS, a DS Exile could have sacrificed her as a default choice ) -Mandalore -Bastila Shen -Bao-Dur -Disciple -Handmaiden(the last 4 being on the reformed Jedi Council on Coruscant) THINGS JUST TO ADD A MORE "STAR WARS" FLAVOR While both games have been great about putting you into the SW world, I wouldn't mind seeing: 1)a starfighter-to-starfighter dogfight(it's a staple of the Star Wars universe, and yet we've not gotten in with either previous game) 2)keep the dual party assult found in KOTOR 2 3)a truly massive ground battle(maybe added into #2), where we see ground vehicles/weaponry firing at background ground troops, as well as snubfighters/airspeeders in dogfights in the background skies(something ala the Battle of Hoth or the Battle of Naboo) POSSIBLE PLANETS TO VISIT I would like to see, or return to the following worlds, if possible: -Coruscant(especially the Jedi Temple) -Tatooine(this time either Mos Eisley & Toshi Station, Beggar's Canyon or Mos Espa) -Yavin 4 -Onderon -Dxun -Taris(it could be in a "restoring" mode, just as Telos was in KOTOR 2) -Ord Mantell (with the possible Mira "foretold" death occuring) And make it possible that we might be able to visit a world or 2 that doesn't necessarily tie into the main storyline, but would still have available quests & battles. Possibly some of the above worlds might fit into this.

playloud
My ideas for KOTOR3... Most important thing is the STORY. I have been happy with the first two KOTOR games (almost finished with STL), and I hope the story in KOTOR3 will be at least as good as it was for the first two. A Strong relationship (good or bad) is important. I didn't get the same connections with Kreia/Exile, as I did with Revan/Bastila. Even though the relationships were different in nature, Kreia seemed more like an old hag that was tagging along, occasionally giving you some insight. You were "bonded" to her, but it seemed that was the only reason you kept her around. Bastila on the other hand, had far more character. I like some of the improvements made to KOTOR2, such as (in no particular order)... 1. Improved customization of weapons/armor 2. Scaleable UI 3. Footlockers that tell you if they are empty 4. Better looking robes 5. Able to switch weapon sets on the fly (I don't use this, but a nice feature) 6. Influence (probably my favorite addition) 7. Prestige classes 8. Ability to use other skills (awareness) in conversations. 9. Lightsaber forms - not unbalancing, but it does make a difference. There are some things that I think were not so good, such as lack of polish. In KOTOR1, once I had downloaded a new driver for my ATI, the game ran flawlessly. In KOTOR2, I don't crash, but there are always little hiccups in the transitions. I haven't reached the end of the game just yet, so I can't comment on the ending. It has been suggested by some (not necessarily in this thread) that you should start out KOTOR3 as the Exile, exactly where you left off (that way you get to own everybody right from the start, think of the fun!). I think this would be a mistake, as leveling up your character and learning more about your character is most of the fun. I would not mind a continuation of KOTOR2, but I think you would have to be a new character. Perhaps After playing a short amount of time (first planet), you could run into either Revan, or The Exile, who see your potential, and train you. For obvious reasons, they would not be able to come with you on your journey (you don't want to be the newb of the group), but you would have to complete some huge mission for him/her, while he/she does his/her thing elsewhere. Another idea, is you could be somebody who was supposed to become a Padawan, but due to the Jedi Civil War you were unable to train with a Jedi. Therefore, you are FS, but have no training/saber. This allows you to level up like the previous games. I am usually of the opinion that less is more. While I like in general the new feats/powers that have been added, I don't want the game to get carried away adding more, just for the sake of adding more. Unarmed combat became viable with KOTOR2, and with the exception of the Echani, I don't think it should be that way. Making special character that can fight well unarmed is ok, but for everybody to have the ability seems unrealistic (even for Star Wars). I really liked the idea of your personal lightsaber crystal, that grows in power as you do. That gave me an idea for a Robe. Perhaps along the way, you can create your own special Robe that will grow in stats as you progress (you could also customize the colors). The ability to raise and lower your hood would be welcome also. I think this would be a great addition to the game. In a retreat from "less is more", I think we should be able to take more party members out (5 counting yourself seems like a good number). Being limited to 3 (yourself + 2) makes it so most of your party members are forgotten. I tend to pick the same people over and over. Once you have a total of 3 Jedi in your group, you never part with them unless you are forced to. I realize this makes replay ability more difficult, but perhaps we could just have a larger pool to choose from. I want to be forced to have people in my group that aren't Jedi. If I have another 2 Jedi in my group, it would be great to still have somebody (HK-47 or similar) with a couple of blasters, and perhaps an echani who is unarmed.) Of course, the NPCs would have to be tougher to for it, but that is easy to do. Perhaps this could be activated. For example, at a certain point in the game, when you get to a more linear story line (see the next paragraph), you could get the skill "Leadership", which allows you to bring a 4th party member, and then Leadership 2 (maxed out) that allows you to bring a fifth. NPCs (especially boss NPCs) need to be harder. I just defeated the person you fight before you head to the last place (vague for spoiler reasons), and I defeated this NPC in ONE ROUND! I am playing on the "hard" setting, and with Master Speed/Flurry, Form VII, and a good saber, I beat this person in one round (I think I got a couple of crits in there). This is probably my biggest gripe with the game. Now, I understand that you can't have really hard NPCs and still allow players the freedom to visit planets in any order. You can't have a super hard NPC on Dantooine, and have the player there at level 10, unable to defeat it. For this, there should be a fairly linear story line for a decent portion of the end game (as you will be very powerful by then), so they can put in worthy foes without fear of making them unbeatable. As it is, I really don't care about looting stims and such, as I never have a need for them. The linear end game (say the last half would also make it easier to incorporate a group of 5, instead of 3. If the game knows you will have 5 people in your group, it can be designed to have a challenge worthy of such a group. Regarding the engine. I would welcome a new graphics engine, but I would not be too disappointed if KOTOR3 used the same old engine. I have the PC version, and my PC has no problems playing the game, and it looks great. Better graphics would be welcome, but I would hope my current system (p4 2.4c, Gig, R9800Pro 256MB, WD Raptor 74GB) could handle it. Lightsaber combat. Maybe it's just me, but I like carrying a traditional single saber into combat. As all but one saber wielding person in the movies has carried this configuration, I have to assume they were doing it for a reason (don't tell me Yoda wasn't skilled enough to do it). I think a single blade saber should have more benefits than it does (with Jedi Weapon Master, you can get duals at nearly the same penalties, but still roughly double dmg). I would like to see more benefit to compensate for less damage. Final thought, please stop making the best headgear in the game a mask. I like to see my face, as the masks just look stupid. The sunglasses face gear is ok, but the kind that totally cover your face (think of the Sith mask from KOTOR1) make you look stupid if you are walking into a Cantina. Well, that is all I can think of right now, please feel free to comment on any of my suggestions. Edit: I just thought of something else. There really HAS to be more variety in the NPC faces. When I can see roughly 20 different people with an identical face, that is just plain wrong. You don't even need to change the graphics engine for that (I don't think). The storyline is so unresolved right now that I want them to put all their creativeness into that and then, in a new RPG (whether they call it KOTOR or not), we can have the eye candy, stereo sound, really good AI, etc. However, I am wondering if they are not already working on a new KOTOR engine for the next version of the Xbox. Remember, while this is not an Xbox-exclusive title, it has always been associated as the Xbox RPG and having this as a major title for the next Xbox would make alot of sense. I suspect that *someone* is developing the new Xbox engine for it even as we speak.

As for the graphics engine I think they should licence the Unreal Engine 3.0 (this has been mentioned before, not only by me), Bioware supposedly has the licence to use the Engine, so why not Obsidian or whatever Developer is making KOTOR3. As for not playing as Revan, I think that may be a mistake plus maybe Obsidian was hinting that Revan would be making a come back as it would be pointless including Revan in KOTOR2 without some reason, other than appealing to those of KOTOR1 lol. Plus like so many others I feel that Revan's relationships were so much more realistic and appealing which I feel would give KOTOR3 the epic concluding saga feeling, et al Leia and Han or in LOTR Aragorn and Aowen (maybe). Better graphics would be welcome, but I would hope my current system (p4 2.4c, Gig, R9800Pro 256MB, WD Raptor 74GB) could handle it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have some gripes with running around doing errands for Revan/Exile, to me that would feel like Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, which isn't a bad thing but I didn't enjoy running so many errands. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's a good point about "Jedi Academy". I would like the story to involve Revan/Exile, but I don't want to play them, and I don't want them in my group. I would like a story other than "Amnesia", but I still want to start as a newb and work my way up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if this is the last installment of the current story. i rather play as Revan then a new pc. but if not Revan i agree with you a new pc with a past. the ameniesia is getting old quick. playloud
It allows them to write 2 games (LS and DS) with only 40 hours of content. Unless we end up with 2 shrinkwraps, I suspect we will see something like that in KOTOR III...alas! mastah vandah
Revan's destiny is unresolved. Check. The Exile's destiny is unresolved. Check. Kotor 2's ending is a cliff hanger. Check. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind the third game is in development. As far as the plot goes, after playing both games finishing light and dark side, this is what i conclude: In my opinion, the third game will feature a brand new main character. The idea of bringing Revan back and/or the exile as playable characters simply wouldn't make sense for the simple reason that both these characters are super powerful by the time the third game takes place. It would be a bummer to simply say " oh well, Revan was stripped away from the force while visiting the outer rim." This kind of thing would just kill the story and also that has already happened to the exile, that is what that character is for. Bringing either of these two characters to level 1 again would make us feel that everything we accomplished on the first or second games was for nothing because now we have to develop either or both all over again. As far as the new main character goes, in my opinion, that will be a recruited human which is most likely to come under the training of the Lost Jedi(the Ebon Hawk crew members) that Darth Traya referred to at the end of the Sith Lords. Regardless of what the exile chooses to do at the end of the second game, the Lost Jedi will grow in their affinity to use the force over the next few years before Kotor 3 starts, thus explaining why they would be considered Jedi Master, thus being credible enough to train the new character. The fact that in Kotor 2, when we visit the enclave for the last time, it is rebuilt, suggests that it is a viable place for the Lost Jedi to go to and make use of it. Now, bear with me, after visiting the Jedi Enclave at least 3 times in kotor and kotor 2, it would make more sense if the academy was located somewhere else. Maybe Coruscant. I'll tell you why that would make sense. In my opinion, if the Kotor series(which is a brand new star wars liscence) will continue up to game 6(let's just say), the developer would already have a new villain to work with which is the Sith Empire, being fully introduced in the third game. What world better than the Republic's capital to be a place for the Jedi to gather and form strategies? Well, the situation of the glaxy looks really bad by the end of Kotor 2. Let's say the Lost Jedi got to Coruscant and that's where their new base is. There has to be a reason as to why the Lost Jedi would send the main character to the outer rim after the exile and Revan. Maybe the fact that the Lost Jedi were once under the leadership of the exile, who was once under the leadership of Revan would be a good reason. First of all, there are many romances involved in the story, so it is safe to say that the ebon hawk crews would want their main characters to return because depending on how you finished the first game, there was love involved in the plot somewhere. Thus, the main character would go to the outer rim looking for Revan and/or the exile. My next point would be: what could the developer do to Revan and the exile that would make them useful for the third game? Well, first thing that by being a gamer and understanding the plot, I can say that I seriously doubt they will kill Revan or the exile. One possibility would be that Revan fell again to the dark side and the exile didn't yet. Maybe the exile could be the NPC that joins your party while you are exploring the planets in the outer rim. Meanwhile, needless to say, The Sith Empire will play a pivotal role and you would be kicking their butts all the time, but they would be harder to kill. Maybe Revan and the Exile can help the main character fight the final battle against the Leader of the Sith Empire, thus causing a shake up in the ranks of the Sith which could maybe explain why it took so long until they came again at full power against the unsuspecting Jedi so many years later. Unless we are able to determine who Revan is and what he/she looks like, I think it will make sense if he falls to the dark side again, because he can use the black robe and all that stuff from the first game and it would be fine. Now the exile puzzles me. One thing is for certain, in Kotor 3, the exile won't end the force, because otherwise the trilogies wouldn't make sense. Now as soon as I think of something ill post it.....thanks for reading.
GhostofAnakin
EXTEND THE GAME TIME. I'm sick of this 30 hour bull****, make the game longer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The game time is about 40 hours, not 30 unless you either a)rush through everything or b)have played it enough to know exactly where you have to go. Game time is only relevant on your first play through. After that, too many factors come in to skewer an accurate count of time. And I doubt you finished in 30 hours on your first play thru. mastah vandah
I understand exactly what you mean, as a matter of fact I agree with you..and really, the romance itself is the least i care about in all of the kotor series, but i was just exploring the possibilities of returning characters and their motivation which might drive the plot for the next game. I tell ya, because Revan is Revan is what makes me play over and over, he was a villain, conqueror than savior or conqueror, sith lord you name it the guy's done it, it's imperative that he's back on the third game. He's extremely complex...as far as carth and atton go, they are as useless as they could possibly get..and the others, except for hk47, should jump off a cliff. RoadReaction
I know these kind of topics have been pounded into the ground but here goes nothing. 1.) I believe the "Villian" of Kotor 3, should be a "True" Sith lord. And he would reign on Ziost. I gave him the name Kar Narbalesh which would mean nothing in basic but in anceint sith "The Dark Lord Narbalesh" basically he'd be black and red giving off a true image of evil however this tattoo like skin must be emphasized that it is natural and not actually a tattoo ( unlike maul's ). He would be well built in a dark robe. Red eyes and the usual non-sense. But he Has mastered the Dark side of the force completely and holds all it's secrets. Basically he is utterly evil, and he is the one who destroyed the Rakata Empire and Korriban was all a decoy to use the sith as slaves to merely gain access to the star forge and for him and his dark lords to ruthlessly slaughter the rakata. This would adequetly explain the destruction of the rakat empire and how the sith gained access to the star forge. Since the anceinets of the rakat race are dead and all that are left are young rakata that dont know its importance. And all of it just seemed to concinenat to me, And maybe he's using the false sith to merely crush the republic and all its allies and soon after slaughter every non-sith. And by every non-sith i mean every human, twilek, gran, Rodian, Zabarak, wookie, Seklath, you name it. Basically Kar Narbalesh will be of the sith race and wanting to destory everything non-sith. Or anyone not loyal to him, or worthy for that matter. Planets required: Ziost (Dark Side Charachter) Couscant (lightside charachter) New weapon types: Long Saber: Ziosian saber: Anceinet sith used these one handed weapons they are longer than a normal saber but require the other hand for balance and use of the force. the "dooku" saber: This saber was just cool. These are just some ideas, I believe this would satisdy most, Those stupid lame dark jedi are just getting gay. I mean an Old prune doesnt scare anyone kreia made me laugh. and Sion was such a wuss. Nithilus was the only enemy that seemed remotely cool. There is nothing there for you Jedi, only weakness surrounds the Jedi Order, just Give in
