Star Wars universe is today too big and has its own life. One man cannot control it

and his word is insignificant. GL maybe had starting idea but he realized it with help

of hundreds various specialists. While I respect him for inventing Star Wars I can see also that he has his own favourite heroes and wants to show them as uber-lame. I have my own favourites too and I don't see them less powerful or worse than Vader or Luke. During expansion of Star Wars many people had as strong influence as Lucas and forced their own visions and ideas often as brilliant as his.

The day when powerful characters will be reduced to few figures from the movies will be the day the Stars Wars die. The entire beauty of Star Wars today is that you can choose your own era and heroes who are equal to other heroes from different times. So what Knight3 is trying to say sounds just lame cause he presents limited version of Star Wars reduced to George's dogmas and movies that aren't that good to worship them and nothing more. I personally tend to believe that such religious approach (as knight3 has) to Lucas' holy word is stupid

ass-sucking. Movies aren't more important to me than books and comics. And acc. to them Exar Kun, Naga Sadow and Marka Ragnos were most powerful Sith Lords in galactic history and they surely overshadow Vader. I'm sorry but in the movies Vader is slow and un-impressing he doesn't have any special powers and lightning speed (don't start tale how special effects were weak in 80s Vader even doesn't know simplest sith spells)... and his achievements are lame. He killed some weak depravated Jedi that cannot be compared to Ancient Jedi and lost with his own master and later with Luke who had little training. I don't care what movies are saying, Vader is just unimpressing and if you treat books/comics as a relevant source than it turns out that Exar and Sadow are the greatest. It took one near-jedi to defeat Vader while it took thousands fully-trained Jedi from their prime to finish Exar and Sadow, not to mention that real Sith draws his power from nature while Vader was some mechanical thing and couldn't even heal his body, while

ancient sith lords with their alchemy could do such thing.

These are facts. If you don't treat EU as a source and worship movies only and GL

as a prophet than Vader is the greatest. But tell me Knight 3 why you are here? This whole poll recognizes EU sith lords and therefore EU as a relevant thing. So

movie-only enthusiast have no place here. Get lost newbie.

HERMOCRATES:

Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks

of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned.

SOCRATES:

This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.

Ouch, harsh words but true in some means vader wasent the prophet i think it was Luke why Vaders future were clouded because it depended on Luke to be born.

But Vader also was a puppet he never did anything of his own free will aside from running after his mother, which in my book werent counting  .

Second his powers was very little, even his own son surpassed him by far, only powers we see Vader actually using through movie package is basics, grip/kill and Dark Rage/Force Rage i heard rumors he shortly use lightning in ep3 but really!

Luke had exact same powers and they were just as big if not bigger.

You seemed to go a bit offf topic here, we're talking about Sith and not Vader Vs Jedi. >_<

Stateing a example on how weak his powers were compared to others, and the ideal sith should be about power and a conqueror, not a puppet like Vader thats a su*ker for love and affection >_<"

Well in that sense Malak reminded me of Vader, both of them were partly machine and both of them tried to kill their masters in a sneaky way.

Well Vader (not Anakin) didn't seem to be much better. After all he lost to Luke, who had only little trainning.

But then again luke did fall to the darkside later and was supposdely a "bigger" toruble to the galaxy (considering the jedi were still recovering from the last big thing)! :D

The whole story of Luke falling to the Dark Side doesn't seem convicing.

I think Lucas himself has said that Luke never falls.

I mean with little trainning he resisted both the emperor and the Vader, afterwards with much more trainning and expirience why would he turn?

Obi-Wan is becoming obsessed, and he knows it. But the danger of flirting with the dark side is a risk he's willing take to save the person about whom he cares most in the galaxy.

Who is that person? Anakin?

Anyway in that other comic about Luke falling to the Dark Side.

They shouldn't have created clones of the emperor in the first place

or since they did they should have Luke kick his ass really hard..

I think that they should have left the emporer where he was b4 in his grave, not make a 100 clones of him that no one had heard of thats BS. and wouldn't he make clones of vader too or is he too ****!

Its likely anakin, remember obi-wan sworn to train him a jedi by his master dying wish, and this coursed him to be more a father to him than a master, Anakin even says that about him, probaly also what causes the sparks between them at times, because Obi-wan on one part has high espectations for him while anakin his own feelings to fight with, many which he believes greater powers could help him succumb this creates a dangerous combination while at one point is driven and another retrained, but yet exspected alot from.

I've all the books by Timothy Zahn, which I quite enjoyed especialy Mara Jade.

And then I've read the whole of the New Jedi Order.

Some of them were really good, but I wanted a greater participation in the events for Luke.
