MASTER Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 what I saw of the video is that the hole section was attacking him. What he should of done is shot them the finger and then they would have came on the court and he would have never been in the stands.
mista_me Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 what I saw of the video is that the hole section was attacking him. What he should of done is shot them the finger and then they would have came on the court and he would have never been in the stands. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He should of just ignored them and brushed them off, not saying that i could of course Where is the bell, wait for the bell, k i need the bell, wait the bell! Ding bonda dong! Ding bonda dong! Ding bonda dong! Ding bonda dong! Kazic wants you.... to join the pinkside!
MASTER Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 No, that fight was neecisary and shotting the finger is not illegal, but comeing out of the stands on to the court to fight is. So he would have not been in trouble just the dumbass funs would be.
Rosbjerg Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I agree that this needs to be moved but I think people are bneing a little over dramatic here. In similar cases overseas in Europe people have been killed. One little mindless brawl where no one is seriously hurt except for bruise egos is no reason to call it "a sad day" or that "sportsmanship is dead." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's because Europeans are freaking crazy, if you are so serious about a sport that you kill a rival fan you're a ****ing idiot....it's just a goddamned game....not even politics (in my opinion) should resort to war and killing....but when sports sinks to that level that means sportsmanship is dead and people are idiots.... and anyone care to explain why the hell Europe is so obsessed with Futbol? soccer... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> not everyone over here loves football/soccer that much .. but yes you are a freaking psycho if you kill someone over anything, especially sports! It's mostly England, Italy, France and Spain thats alittle obsessive about their teams, and in my experiance the Italiens are the worst when it comes to violence rioting (and England comes in second place).. no offence to either country but they have their bad apples! I'm very happy that danish football fans aren't that overzealous when it comes to "defending" their team honour .. And when it comes to obsessing about a sport I don't think anyone from US should be pointing any fingers! you might not be so violent, but I have never seen anything as obsessive as your general attitude towards American Football! I saw a documentary about a town (Tigers or something, a college team) where the coach or a representative would bring a little toy Tiger to any new born boy .. and people were buried in Tigers coffins .. now thats obsessive!! but hey, as longs as it's harmless like that, I don't mind! Fortune favors the bald.
mista_me Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I think that they get a little too into the game! Where is the bell, wait for the bell, k i need the bell, wait the bell! Ding bonda dong! Ding bonda dong! Ding bonda dong! Ding bonda dong! Kazic wants you.... to join the pinkside!
Rosbjerg Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 were this game I have forgotten <{POST_SNAPBACK}> huh? Fortune favors the bald.
Rosbjerg Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I just don't understand the sentence.. "were this game I have forgotten" .. sorry .. Fortune favors the bald.
Rosbjerg Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 where was the game I have forgoten <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ah .. it was the Indiana Pacers vs. Detroit Pistons .. but where it was I don't know! (not from US) Fortune favors the bald.
Laozi Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Detroit, it use to be the murder capital of the U.S., but alas, now its the nations capital D.C. People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
MASTER Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 then why are we arguing that right sums it up.
mastaGAW Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I don't like how the city is getting a worse reputation from this. Many of you probaly have never even been to Detroit the media just exaggerates everything. The Palace isn't even in Detroit its in Auburn Hills an affluent suburb about an hour away. I doubt those drunk white guys who provoked Artest by throwing beer at him had a thug mentality. Those people fighting has nothing to do with the ghetto and all this other bullsh*t some of you are bringing up. If you pay attention to the NBA you should probaly already know Artest is a hothead. Ben Wallace probaly got mad because if you look at Artest's actions in the past Big Ben probaly thought he hit him in the back of the head on purpise and was getting annoyed being this isn't the first time he has flagrantly fouled a Piston player hard. He's been in the league 7 years and hasn't went off on anybody until Friday. I hate how the national media and other places judge this area and make it seem so bad. Detroit has the same problem as any other old big city in a heavily populated urban area with a million people or more. If you look at anytime there may have been a riot or people acting crazy as a group in the the Detroit Metropolitan Area its been far from the city and the so-called "gangstas and thugs" that populate it. You would be made too if some dumb fan threw some beer on you. I myself might have reacted a different way but I'd still be pissed. The Pistons weren't even involved when the fans intervened they were sitting on the bench. Personally I believe Stephen Jackson should be suspended longer than Ron Artest he hit more people with less reason. This thing was blown out of proportion. On a last note it was kinda funny when Germaine O'Neal got a chair thrown at him.
taks Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 In similar cases overseas in Europe people have been killed. One little mindless brawl where no one is seriously hurt except for bruise egos is no reason to call it "a sad day" or that "sportsmanship is dead." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hardly justification for such childish behavior from adults, hades... should we go around spouting "it's OK, they do this all the time in europe!" with everything? i hope not. taks comrade taks... just because.
Judge Hades Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 No, I am just saying that it is worse over in Europe. Is it acceptable behavior? No. Is it a tragedy or a "sad day" or an example of "sportsmanship is dead?" No.
taks Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 yeah, but you used europe as an example to justify behavior here. not a very good practice to use bad behavior as justification for other bad behavior. in professional sports, i think sportsmanship actually is dead. hell, the country was shocked when the cardinals went out to shake hands with the astros after the NLCS... something i was taught to do after ANY competition (pro hockey, btw, still requires such displays). taks comrade taks... just because.
Judge Hades Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Thing is I am not saying that their behavior is justified. I am just saying its not as bad as a typical Euro soccer match. No one was killed so I don't see the tragedy.
MASTER Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 I did wip out my 45 and blow the bastards head off
mastaGAW Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 The guy shouldn't have thrown the beer on him the problem is Artest hit the wrong guy first. The guy that really did it is the prosecutors former neighbor. Now the guy that threw the beer is sueing the Piston even though none of them were Pistons were even involved when the fans started jumping the Pacers.
random evil guy Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 I agree that this needs to be moved but I think people are bneing a little over dramatic here. In similar cases overseas in Europe people have been killed. One little mindless brawl where no one is seriously hurt except for bruise egos is no reason to call it "a sad day" or that "sportsmanship is dead." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's because Europeans are freaking crazy, if you are so serious about a sport that you kill a rival fan you're a ****ing idiot....it's just a goddamned game....not even politics (in my opinion) should resort to war and killing....but when sports sinks to that level that means sportsmanship is dead and people are idiots.... and anyone care to explain why the hell Europe is so obsessed with Futbol? soccer... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> like someone said; the whole world, except the us, is obsessed with football. i just don't know what's wrong with you americans. are you a bit too lazy? fat? football means running a lot and i guess you prefer standing in one place hitting balls with a wooden stick... aka baseball... aka a hobby, not a sport...
chemchok Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Detroit, it use to be the murder capital of the U.S., but alas, now its the nations capital D.C. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, that wonderful appellation goes to Camden NJ at the moment.
Ellester Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 This brawl is just proof that there are a bunch of thug millionaires in the NBA. You can take a kid out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the kid. " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually that isn Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story. - Steven Erikson
Judge Hades Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 And the fan did his damnest to provoke him to which doesn't help matters. The fan got what he deserved. I think the punishment is too harsh, and I agree with Ellester. Make sit out half of the remain games and during that time he gets counseling. That is how I would have handled it.
mastaGAW Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Like I said earlier he was always a hothead I just can't believe the guy who threw beer at him is trying to sue the Pistons now. What did they do its his fault. He shouldn't be able to sue anybody. The guy that started it all I believe has a a criminal history with drinks and it doesn't help that he's the prosecutor's neighbor.
