Mira and Grenades and Rockets

Recommended Posts

I think Mr. Avellone got a little jealous of Akari, gagged him, and let us know all the tid-bits himself so he could take all the credit! Shame on you. o:):p

Actaully, Akari already told us about the "point" (avoid mines) ability that mira has. How it works is that she won't set of mines, but if she is the head of the party, then no one sets off mines. The grenade launcher is new tho.

Tho I do appreciate MCA stopping round. Thanks

I know, but he's still trying to muscle in on his crown as darth infogiver. :-"

Interesting info. Hopefully those rockets do a lot of damage. But why would we want to shoot grenades from Mira's launcher when we can just throw them? Do they get better range or what? Oh, and does Mira's launcher take a "glove" spot in her equipment screen or does it hog her alternative weapons slot ?

Also, looks like those mines have grown more deadly, as in KOTOR1 running over them and setting them off wasn't a big deal. Wonder how we can master that sequence if Mira isn't in the party at the time, though.

Beginning to like this Mira woman...Though she will have a spot in my party about 15% of the game... One  spot will always be for a Jedi or Sith...The last spot will probably go to Mandalore

What no HK-47 on your party??

I think Hades could really benefit from those [sarcasm] tags. :-

I would think the sarcasm would be obvious without the need of tags. ;)

Serious though, what is the freaking point of putting non-Jedis as NPCs if we can't be one ourselves. Just plain stupid.

Don't start again....

Diversity among party members? In NWN, we can't play as Dragons or as kobald, so should those characters not exist to interact with?

I know you're on a crusade, but that was one of the less intelligent things you've said.

Different setting, there Ghoastie.  We are talking about Star Wars, not DnD.

What does the different settings have to do with your statement? You're complaining that since we can't play as a character (in this case, non-Jedi) then it's stupid to have that character as an NPC.

Hades, too often you make an argument, but then completely ignore facts that make your argument look weak by saying they don't apply.

Well, I am talking about classes here and you are bringing up races. Two different issues here in my book. At least the last time I checked in NWN you can play as a bard/Red Dragon Disciple.

Two different issues, but same general idea. That being "it being stupid to have NPCs of classes/races/subraces/etc. that you, as the PC, cannot choose". It's just semantics to differentiate, since it's basically the same thing.

Point being, it makes no sense to say it's "stupid" to have NPCs of a certain class just because you can't play that class. It's about diversity. It's just as valid as saying it was stupid to confront a Hutt, since you can't be a Hutt. Or it was stupid that you had a Wookiee in your party when you couldn't choose to be a Wookiee yourself. So then that becomes a "race" issue, and we go back to what I said about NWN and most D&D style games' "limitations".
