mastaGAW Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I wonder is there any way that develeopers can include the ability for use to listen to our own music already on the hard drive during KOTOR2? XBOX includes this feature I wonder why don't develeopers take advantage of it? Is it hard to implent or time consuming?
EnderAndrew Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I'm a big fan of this feature in general, and I wouldn't be totally opposed if the feature was included, but Star Wars really needs a Star Wars soundtrack in my opinion.
ShinIchiro Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 SW game. SW music. It's for the best. Really, what would the atmosphere be if your rap/rock/whatever was playing at the same time.
Guest Michael Chu Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I think it'd be pretty awesome if OutKast's "Hey Ya" came blaring out if you entered a cantina. B)
EnderAndrew Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Catinas seem to be the break from the Williams music. Frankly, I love the scores from the movies. I don't understand why LucasArts have people rescore the games. Use as much as John Williams music as you can I say!
Guest Michael Chu Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 For the same reason that Mr. Williams composes all those great tracks ("The Droid Invasion", "Duel of the Fates" and the love theme from Attack of the Clones come to mind) for the prequel trilogy.
mastaGAW Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 Yeah it would be sweet if Cantinas had this feature or perhaps the Ebon Hawk.
EnderAndrew Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 For the same reason that Mr. Williams composes all those great tracks ("The Droid Invasion", "Duel of the Fates" and the love theme from Attack of the Clones come to mind) for the prequel trilogy. I get having a score that caters directly to the specific story, but can anyone really touch Williams work? I say reuse as much as you can, and rescore a few scenes.
alanschu Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Duel of Fates is fantastic....as is the Imperial March
EnderAndrew Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Williams' music has been known to literally give me goosebumps. I am a sad, sad panda.
alanschu Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Ditto here. I remember getting them watching Anakin go after his mother on Tatooine when he was on the speeder when the Duel of Fates started up
will_990 Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I just wonder, if it will be possible in future times to record the music in 5.1...btw how long will the average length of one music score be? I found that music in Kotor1 was a little too short (about 1
Synaesthesia Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Listening to Tiesto whilst swoop-bike racing would be ****ing grouse.
Powerslave Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 IMHO in KotOR it really SUCKED when you entered certain areas of the game like bars/clubs etc and an annoying techno beat sound/music started playing. COMPLETELY out of the game's atmosphere.
OLD SKOOL WHEELMAN Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 As much as I would love to hear some AC/DC, preferably "Highway to Hell", going down the dark path, I have to agree that since it's a Star Wars game, it needs Star Wars music...
icebox15 Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 As much as I would love to hear some AC/DC, preferably "Highway to Hell", going down the dark path, I have to agree that since it's a Star Wars game, it needs Star Wars music... When you go to face the final boss they play Highway to Hell. They should have a rock concert in KOTOR II
OLD SKOOL WHEELMAN Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 That could work too...but we need some Queen...
Indalecio Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 That could work too...but we need some Queen... Its not Queen, but how about "Stairway To Heaven" whenever you're doing something particularly Lightside?
Drakron Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 And having" YMCA" showing up during the gay romance dialogue.
Dead Skin Mask Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 I think it'd be pretty awesome if OutKast's "Hey Ya" came blaring out if you entered a cantina. B) I would prefer Sex and Violence by the Exploited or maybe I Love Living In The City by FEAR for the cantina. Just an idea. Cheers!
icebox15 Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 How about the Bith in the cantinas get some string insrtuments.
Powerslave Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 If there was ANY hip-hop in it, I would assassinate the guys responsible for the music  As already stated it has to be SW music, anyway, so making such assumptions probably does not lead anywhere...
mastaGAW Posted July 9, 2004 Author Posted July 9, 2004 What assumptions are you talking about and what is your problem with hip hop?
OLD SKOOL WHEELMAN Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 That could work too...but we need some Queen... Its not Queen, but how about "Stairway To Heaven" whenever you're doing something particularly Lightside? No hip hop, sorry...unless it's Rapper's Delight, that would be the exception..."Stairway to Heaven" would be fine..."We Will Rock You" will have to be in there, as well as "We are the Champions"...except we need some ska...
