DVDs aren't even the latest technology; we already have HD DVDs in the works. I've had a DVD player in my PC for a few years now and it was cheap when I got it.

Definitely DVD.

I want my DVD!

DVD! DVD! DVD! DVD! DVD! DVD! DVD! DVD! DVD! DVD! DVD!

yea, we want dvd!!!!!!!!!

If KotOR2 comes out on DVD I would buy it just to support the format.

I would really like to see both CDs and DVDs in the same package. Just like some old games that were shipped with both the big\small floppy disks in the same box. I doubt it would happen though, publishers seem to like pinching pennies.

I voted "don't care"...which means I didn't vote. As long as they get that game out with no delays then I will be happy. Feb. 2005?

i heard something for december 2004 but maybe its just a rumor

I heard a release date rumor of June 17, 2004. :)

Usually when it comes to realease dates the rumors are often off ( take a look at HL2/DOOM3 ). Even the official release dates seem to miss quite often.

DVD, saves storage space. That and CDs are just not cool anymore. Xbox and PS2 games come on DVD why do we have to be lame on the PC...did KotOR take multiple discs for the xbox? ( I don't know..so I ask)

The reason why CDs are still used is because so many people still have them. With pcs you arn't forced into one hardware configuration, which is both a blessing and a curse. The publisher also wants to reach the most people it possibly can with the game (increased sales) and people with CD and/or DVD drives can play the CD version. While I'd like for them to release a DVD version for the pc, they'll only do it if they think there's money in it for them.

None of the obsolete bastards who still have a 16x CD-ROM in their PC are gonna change up though until SOMEONE decides to release all the games in DVD format. Someone has to take the leap sooner or later.

Buy a hundred copies of MGS2 and go bitch on their board.

Exactly...

DVD would be nice, but I don't really care.

TripleRRR

Using a gamepad to control an FPS is like trying to fight evil through maple syrup.

I'm going to bitch on this forum anyway, I might as well make sure it will be around by buying Obsidian games.

I don't see any reason why they shouldn't have a DVD version available, even a limited release! I'd preorder mine to secure it straight away and protect it from the filthy unwashed masses :)

IIRC popular demand for the DVD(initially only in the "Special Ed") version of UT2K4 caused them to make some more. Far Cry DVD I think has outsold the CD version where I usually shop down here in New Zealand anyway..

lets hope that there will be released a cd-version and a dvd-version

It came on one DVD.

Give people the game on cd's but reduce texture quality etc. To keep the number down then i bet they'd invest in dvd drive

Yeah that sounds like a good idea, lets piss a bunch of people off just to sell more DVD versions of the game, why are people so dumb. Answer this, why in the world does Obsidian care if people invest in DVD Drives.

DVD all the way!

People should be forced to upgrade. If not we'd still be installing games from floppies. I heard the same excuses for CD.

anyway, in Europe many games are being released on DVD now.

we want dvd!!!!!!!!!!

Well i guess the votes agree with you too.

Good points for every 1. DvD should be the winner here. Some one needs to contact a Dev., and get him in here to ask his opinion. :-)

All the distribution/packaging is probably up to LucasArts. So if you all want it out on DVD it's probably best to contact them about it.
