None of this would be necessary if all of the traitors would have been send to jail after Jan 6.

While this is true, I think we can trace all of this back to 1865. Replacing Trump isn't enough, the post Trump years will need a new Reconstruction and the relegation of the gang of pdffiles to the dustbin of history.

current usa politician class will not do the necessary reconstruction and reeducation for the south

if it didn't happen during 1860 the chance are significantly lower now

there is no institutional and bureaucratic way out of this

Yes, I've long since resigned myself to the fact that institutions will need to be rebuilt following the smoking crater named Redacted. Foreign policy and World standing may never recover.

how do usa political class become so bad at manufacture consent compare to 20 year ago

it is not just the addition of internet and new media

their propaganda ability have obviously atrophied

That's just the natural order of things. Moles have bad eyesight, Moa had no wings despite being birds. We don't have gills.

If you don't need it, you lose it; that's just evolution. If your leaders will never be held to account then they stop justifying stuff properly. Because they simply don't need to.

Absolutely disastrous local body elections for Labour and Keir Starmer in the UK. Just as bad really for the Conservatives too, though they had a lot less to lose.

Better ban a few more protest groups and rallies, I'm sure that will fix the problem. Pretty good results for everyone with a cause like the seperatists or greens though- or a 'cause', like Reform.

Lots of Labour people saying that when push comes to shove voters won't go for Farage and he isn't really likeable or electable and when push comes to shove they'll come back to Labour. Usually, sure, but not if there's the one two punch of you offering an unliked and uncharismatic leader pushing the millstone of status quo up hill like an artificially cheery and seemingly unaware* Sisyphus. Literally the only thing Starmer seems to passionately believe in is giving Israel carte blanche and suppressing anyone who complains. An utterly terrible look for someone whose prior claim to fame was being a human rights' lawyer. At least he's not the 'unelectable' Bernie Sanders Jeremy Corbyn, I guess. Whose Labour got half a million more votes in 2019 than Starmer's did at the last election. Though you'd never know from the media coverage.

Very much "no, it's the kids voters who are wrong" on display from both Labour.

labour are as pathetic as tory

how is the leadership still not replaced

how much do they want to lose

so usa are trying to ban all climate related legal action against fossil fuel company

pretty sure it will pass

it will be fascinating to watch

TRT World - Polls vs prediction: The Kentucky primary tes...

In Kentucky’s crucial primary, Trump is backing challenger Ed Gallrein, a Navy SEAL, to defeat firebrand Republican incumbent Rep. Thomas Massie in Tuesday's consequential GOP contest.

An interesting primary election in Kentucky tomorrow, its really just a bellwether election around Trumps influence within GOP voters

Massie has become one of Trumps biggest " critics" especially around the war in Iran. His Trump endorsed challenger, Gallrein, is heavily funded by AIPAC because Massie is seen as anti-Israel

Its very close the polling data

But we will know who won by Wednesday.

Yes, this all looks fundamentally correct

Governments that own US bonds cant sell them until maturity but they can sell them on secondary markets which some countries have been doing which he mentions

Just something interesting, governments like Japan and China only own 20% of the total $39 trillion US debt

The rest of the US debt is called domestic debt and is owned by domestic holders and investors in the US. The Federal Reserve for example is the largest single debt holder of this domestic debt with $4.6 trillion

Here is a good link that summarize this debt breakdown

The Federal Government Has Borrowed Trillions. Who Owns A...

Most federal debt is owed to domestic holders, but foreign ownership is much higher now than it was about 50 years ago.

For me its not foreign governments selling US bonds that could really crash the US economy because it wont have enough impact even if all countries did it at the same time. It would hurt the US but not crash it

But if the overall US economy fails to grow and US companies are suddenly no longer profitable that will hurt the US much more because now domestic debt holders will mass sell bonds on secondary markets and because thats 80% of who owns the US debt that will have much worse economic consequence

So if you see a real lack of belief and confidence because of real negative economic data that will become the real crisis

But then the US survived the 2008 financial crisis despite being the creator of that global crisis so you can never predict when it comes to the future of the US economically

I still think it always goes back to the fundamentals of the success of the thousands of US listed companies as the most effective way to understand investor confidence in the US and the sustainability of the US economically?

Trump has suspended a plan- or a concept of a plan- to bomb Iran again after his Gulf allies objected.

Which might not really be news given it's Trump but is kind of interesting given the sustained push to paint those same Gulf allies as being all in (politically, and over the last week or so, militarily) for the initial attack that has been going on. I was always skeptical of MbS being anywhere near as gung ho as he was painted as given his country's sustained inability to even deal with the Houthi's drone and missile threat. And the UAE's leaders must be aware that their 'Sparta of the Gulf' reputation is a joke when the orders issued by the rich Dubai/ Abu Dhabi elite have to be carried out by those in the poorer Emirates. Which already resulted in their expeditionary force fleeing Yemen after nearly 100 Fujairans copped a scud there and threatened mutiny at dying for Dubai's imperial ambitions.

(The off the records seem to be implying that there's a ban on airspace and baseage for attacks, at least until diplomacy is exhausted, and has been since the ill advised attempt to force the Hormuz blockade)

So... after weaponizing the DoJ to go after his enemies, Redacted is creating a $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization" fund. Guess who will be the recipient of those funds? Heh. They're not even trying to hide the corruption any more.

Trump creates $1.8B "anti-weaponization" fund after dropping IRS suit

This is one of the dumbest and most myopic ideas Trump\DOJ has ever come up with

The fund will be used for " victims of political prosecution from the Biden presidency "

So whats the bet people involved in the 6 January Capitol attacks who broke the law, were jailed and then pardoned will now claim they were " unfairly prosecuted " and want to claim from this fund

Didn't some GOP hack say that's why it's better than Biden's supposed criminal deals - the corruption is out in the open

To top it off:

US government will permanently drop tax claims against Trump as part of IRS lawsuit deal

Such a deal. How do we get one of those? Yeah, sue the government for $10 billion.

Anyway, seems just a tad illegal.

Massie lost in Kentucky and Cassidy lost in Louisiana in both primaries

These were both considered GOP representatives who opposed Trump in different ways

These clear Trump primary victories confirm Trump still has real influence and support amongst GOP voters. This is not about his support in the midterms because then its about how all Americans will vote

Here is good link that summarizes Trumps recent wins around candidates he supports
