I guess that depends on how Thousand Year Blood War turns out and if he has the time and desire for Bleach 2: Helldust Crusaders. Personally I can see it happen either way, Bleach does have a definite ending point and the whole Hell business can be seen as a what if deal. If he does do it then there's gonna be an anime, and I hope it isn't flooded with filler arcs. 5 hours ago, Sarex said: Your mind cannot adjust to this breakneck speed of releases. Yeah, it's certainly different than a chapter every year or so. I've also been really busy and haven't had time to check. I guess Guts is going to somehow remove the brand or absorb it or whatever. I personally haven't read it, but I have read some summaries and it seems pretty cool world lore wise. It fills a lot of holes in the original story too. Spoiler All the dead captains and vasto lorde are in hell now as their reitsu is too big to be reabsorbed in to the mortal world, or something like that. There is also a bonus manga chapter following Ichigo's son that teases this. Edited June 30 by Sarex "because they filled mommy with enough mythic power to become a demi-god" - KP
Gorth Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Watched first episode of second season of Dandadan. Creepier than ever. Okarun and Momo almost ends up as worm food. Literally Also... looking forward to this, even if still half a year away (I had to watch the thumbnail three times before realizing the pun of the bum, literally showing the area beyond "the end") “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. rjshae Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I'm really enjoying Psycho-Pass; it's been close to the best anime series I've watched (comparable to Attack on Titan). The genre is adult noir with none of the usual goofiness you see in many anime. I could definitely picture it as a live-action series, although it could be expensive to produce. The cyberpunk setting feels similar to Akira, Blade Runner, and Ghost in the Shell. "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
Bartimaeus Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 (edited) The Boy and the Heron (2023). Uh... Hmm. The initial setup and pacing of the film really stink: it doesn't feel like the film starts until literally the 45 minute mark, and after that, the characters, writing, and direction are all still just...kind of aggravating. I'm very much reminded of a very slow and messy Spirited Away, which was already incredibly inexplicable and messy in of itself...but this is much more meandering and with way less appealing music and characters. Deep and meaningful themes unfortunately don't mean squat if I wasn't able to enjoy the journey meant to relate and explore them. I hope Miyazaki at least found meaning in making it. To be frank, I expected to dislike this movie at the outset, ever since I read the most basic details revealed about it, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised...but somehow, I liked it even less than Ponyo. Man, I wish Isao Takahata were still alive. Edited July 9 by Bartimaeus Quote Against stupidity we have no defense. Neither protests nor force can touch it. Reasoning is of no use. Facts that contradict personal prejudices can simply be disbelieved - indeed, the fool can counter by criticizing them, and if they are undeniable, they can just be pushed aside as trivial exceptions. So the fool, as distinct from the scoundrel, is completely self-satisfied. In fact, they can easily become dangerous, as it does not take much to make them aggressive. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.

Gorth Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Dandadan episode 3... as wacky as ever. Momo and Okarun is stranded in a subterranean cave together with a century's worth of buildings. Looks very much like a giant sink hole. Trapped with the giant Mongolian Deathworm trying to force them into suicide and The Evil eye, still possessing Jiji's body. Okarun manages to catapult Momo (with a helping psychic hand from Mom) up to the surface. She lights the house above the cavern up and calls the fire department. Remembering something she learnt as a kid, worms don't like wet terrain. True enough, the worm surfaces and wrecks half the neighbourhood before dying from exposure to sunlight. At the bottom, Okarun tries to save Turbo-Granny from sticky orange good, just to end up stuck himself. Along the way, the dying worm regurgitates the "family" that has spent the last few centuries sacrificing victims to it. They promptly blame Momo for what is about to happen and... the volcano next to the town starts erupting, lava running everywhere... Makes sense, right? You sort of have to see it edit: before anyone points out that i missed something, disclaimer, I probably missed at least half of what happened in the tl;dr; above “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
