Yeah, a couple of months back, I changed my avatar to Kyubey, not only did I have to manually edit the base image because the editing and uploading process didn't work as it should, I also needed to switch browsers to make it work, only to then notice that I can't stand looking at a new avatar (much less Kyubey, of all things) and switched back, only to notice that it was impossible to make good old Blue Hair look like he did before.

Two things:

1. The forum software inexplicably loves to color-shift my avatars, and I have no idea why. It's not as noticeable with this one, but it was super noticeable with the previous one (to me, since I was very familiar with the previous image I had).
2. For some reason, the forum software would not accept this one in .png no matter what I did, so I actually had to save it in a .gif instead to avert some kind of inexplicable and unexplained error (and no, it wasn't due to the size, the limit of which is like 100 KB and mine was ~82 KB).

So in conclusion...circle avatars and the whole avatar upload process is crap on here and the forum eating posts and really the whole post-submitting form is crap on here. I am trying to think of what got better on here since the forum upgrade...the easiness of embedding images and videos, I suppose? Of course, there have been many times where I *didn't* want to embed something and found it very difficult NOT to...so, really, all in all, it's been a bad deal. Curse the Obsidian forums!

Blood-C, Episode 2:

Saya really is an older version of Sakura. She's blissfully unaware of what's going on around her, brings food to the boy she apparently likes, who really reminds me of Emo McEdgelordface from X, and who curiously enough always shows up directly after their teacher arrives. Alwas in the nick of time there, and always playfully chided about getting into trouble soon. Of course, two episodes isn't enough to fully form a pattern, but given Nanase Ohkawa's fondness for teacher and student romances, might there be something going on?

It also doesn't help that the boy with the crush on Saya and her friend from the café both sound and look a good deal like Sakura's father (and Yukito - at least for looks, not the voice, you can't really copy Megumi Ogata).

She also fights a tentacle monster plant thing in this episode, which looks an awful lot like a hentai'ed up version of a Leever from Zelda.

A few weird scenes with a focus on the twin's behinds and Saya's legs where I don't really know if they were meant to demonstrate something or just there for a few bits of fanservice. Hard to tell with this one. So far, not the worst thing I've watched recently, although I've got to admit that the whole storyline isn't too interesting (yet?).

It is a bit on the slow side up to around the hallfway mark. Just a word of warning (or managing expectations or whatever). If anything, I think they rushed the ending in the last episode, it could have been done more with to wrap things up in a manner that felt less like Oops, we got 20 minutes, lets hurry and dump a tonne of info kind of way.

Edit: Tl;dr; the pacing is terrible

Edit2: Started on Elfen Lied. Off to a gory start. Not bad so far.

I don't mind, for all I care the entire show could be Saykura happily hopping up and down town singing to herself and being embarrassed by people hearing her. :)

Halfway through Blood-C, Episode 3.

Speculation:

Spoiler

Childlike Saykura and vicious killer and supreme athlete Saykura are separate entities. Maybe not physically separate, but at least mentally. One is a child, the other an adult, possibly her mother, and it's maybe related to the light she keeps trying to grab, or it is some blood-related transformation sequence that we haven't seen yet.

The twins remind me an awful lot of Yui and Ritsu, except even more extremely synchronized.

Still expecting this to fall completely apart halfway through the show.

edit:

Speculation, part two:

Spoiler

The bakery's owner disappeared after being visited by Saykura. Guess he was the werewolf or the hentai Leever, or otherwise was taken by whatever malevolent force is behind the attacks. Although, yeah, sorta going with transformation, voluntary or otherwise, for now. Not much to go off yet, at any rate.

I probably spoiled it a bit by revealing that things aren't what they seem, but if you persist, I'll keep my mouth shut and leave you to connect the dots from the clues as the story progresses. Finished third episode of Elfen Lied. A bit heavy on the stereo types at times (looking at you macho killing machine soldier), but definitely a faster paced story than Blood-C from the outset (but less blood and gore).

I'm always trying to pre-guess twists when I'm aware of them, which is a bit more problematic than simply not knowing and figuring it out passively. :yes:Sometimes I semi-jokingly manage, like with Vampire Princess Miyu. Still can't believe the anime pulled that off. Heh. Most twists aren't very surprising though.

Why are you watching Elfen Lied by the way, the price of admission for this thread is watching Sailor Moon. :p

Looks like I should watch entire episodes before posting about them.

Spoiler

Bakery guy is currently getting the tentacle porn treatment. Red eyes switch to psychopath killer mode seems to confirm that part too. Eh, okay. Saykura was awfully quick in figuring out that the entire train is the monster. Heh.

edit:

Spoiler

Also, while it looks like Saykura is the heroine in this, I'm not entirely sure. Something is off about the entire setup, I woldn't be surprised if her father wasn't in league with something or someone else. Mhm.

Or if she really is his daughter at all. Could be just an Elder Bairn or whatever they're called with a memory imprint. *shrug*

I had a bad dream last night. Yes, it is relevant to anime...and especially this anime thread.

Spoiler

Not even kidding, the dream was about Bruno getting a sudden interest in anime, specifically of ecchi or otherwise embarrassing variety, and starting to habitually post in much the same fashion as he does about video game romances in this thread about it. I literally thought to myself in the dream that welp, guess I would no longer be posting in here anymore. I usually enjoy the rare nightmare I have, but this wasn't really a nightmare - more of just a...very weird and strangely unpleasant intrusive thoughts kind of dream. Let this never come to pass. ...Now that I think about it, my ignore list was inexplicably not in effect/present during this dream, so I guess at least I would have that if it ever actually did.

Sakura, episode 58. A cold open? How very unlike Sakura!

Spoiler

...Did they really just run all the way home while Yukito and Kero were in their giant transformed states? ...Ah, there was a narrative reason for that, as I found out a minute later. Very well.

You know, Sakura would be a lot more inconspicuous if she wasn't wearing Tomoyo's insane outfits. Man, Kero is not at all like a cat, a cat would naturally squeeze through the window easy.

Toya: "What was that voice just now?"
Sakura: "*GUTTURAL SAKURA EXCLAMATION SOUND*"

Yep, that should do it, Sakura! Oh my gosh, she is the worst bluffer...buuut it worked. She needs to like...convert Kero and Yukito to Sakura versions of themselves.

"Oh, I don't need to, because...I'm cute!" Yeah, lady, you keep thinking that. Kero laughing in his full form is terrible and sounds more like crying.

It's about time Sakura and Yui had some kind of serious conversation.

Yukito: "Why am I at your house, Sakura?"
Sakura: "*GUTTRAL SAKURA EMBARRASSMENT SOUND*"

Yep, that should do it, Sakura! Is Eriol like...just testing Sakura? Making sure she's as strong as she can be, putting her through his own series of tests like Yui did? Can't really figure out his game.

Honestly, I'd peg Bruno more as a Naruto fanboy or tentacle aficionado but ecchi makes sense too.

I had a dream where the regular posters here turned into a mashup of an adventuring party and an anime gang, except Amentep who was a narrator. We fought a ghoul named Skooper and escaped from a tomb. I should stop trying to fight insomnia with videogames and anime.

Spoiler

Yes, he is testing her, or rather, he's doing everything he can to put her into situations where she needs to improve her magic power. Must be some reason for it... :)

Well, and that bluff, yeah. Toya can be an annoying bigger brother, but he's semi-aware that Sakura is often off doing something and doesn't want to talk about it, I mean, he told Mirror as much. The episode was fun, but Kerberos!Kero is so... decidedly less fun than Kero!Kero.

I guess, you know, time for some expectation spoilers for the next two episodes - don't blame me if you cick and have expectations then!

Spoiler

Next episode has a bit of insight into what's going on and some Tomoyo singing, and episode 60 has something you've been waiting for. Except... well, you'll see.

I'm pretty sure Bruno would watch Kill La Kill and like it for all the fanservice, and tell us all about his Ryuko x Mako fantasies. Although, I don't know, Satsuki's fascist regime should be right up his alley.

I think Bruno would end up more towards bad shonen or harem.

But if he did watch Kill la Kill, he'd probably say Ryuko was the real villain and then support the crazy mom and her space threads.

Luckily this is all hypothetical.

there are in fact multiple universes and the misery goes on for most of them.😭

Also:

- Mayushii accepted that Kagari, an older woman, saw her as her mother even without knowing about time travel. That is really nice of her.

- In the Valentine special Kagari gives the chocolates to her mother but she apparently still had amnesia when they were cooking. So either there is a continuity mistake or she intended to give the chocolates to a special person and changed her mind later after recovering her memories...
