That was quite possibly the best half of football muh Boys have played all season.

Quiz Time! How will the Cowboys blow a 20 point halftime lead?

A) Interceptions

B) Fumbles

C) Prevent Defense

D) Mike McCarthy

E) Mystery Potluck Option

Edit: Absolutely bush league ***hole move by the zebras. CeeDee Lamb makes a fantastic catch on the sideline to set up a 60 yard FG to end the half. The zebras have all the time in the world to look at it and stop play to review it, muh Boys even take a timeout to give them more time. Brett Maher hits the 60 yarder except it turns out the zebras blew the play dead to review the previous play at the last instant before the snap, effectively icing the kicker and taking 3 points off the board. Thankfully, Brett Maher is such a GIGACHAD that he just hit the 60 yarder again.

Edit 2: Tony Mother****ing Pollard!

Edit 3: Okay, muh Boys are up 34:woot:, even they can't blow a lead this big in a quarter and a half. I'd take the starters out of the game at this point, let the 2nd stringers get the snaps for the rest of the game.

Muh Boys are 7-3 and I'm feeling good about our playoff chances. The way I see it, 10-7 will get you into the playoffs in the NFC, so muh Boys need to go 3-4 or better the rest of the way. 9-8 could conceivably get you in, but I'd be feeling really nervous if my team picked up their 8th loss. Our schedule the rest of the way:

Giants on Turkey Day

Colts

Texans

@Jaguars

Eagles

@Titans

@Commanders

This terrible Packers team doing the same old same old to the Cowboys and then the Cowboys immediately crapping all over the entire city of Minneapolis the next week does bring a tear to my eye: it's so beautiful. The vast majority of NFL teams are always much closer to each other than one would usually think, even when you look at ridiculous lopsided affairs like that 40-3 game - I don't know if they'd win, but I do feel pretty certain that if the Vikings and Cowboys played again next week, it'd be a lot closer than that.

At least this year Rodgers went Kali Ma Shakti De on us in the regular season rather than the playoffs.

I guess I can't completely count the Packers out of making the playoffs yet. It would be just like Rodgers to somehow sneak into the playoffs and turn into MVP Rodgers one last time to rip our hearts out in the playoffs yet again.

The Packers can lose maybe one more game for the rest of the season and still make it, and that's not certain, particularly given we already lost to the Commanders who are currently sitting two (effectively three) games above us...with the Giants and Cowboys being even higher for the other two wildcard spots (whoa, the entire NFC East may well make the playoffs...though I think the 49ers will challenge the Commanders for the last one, particularly with them still yet to play each other).

Luckily, with the margin being somewhere between zero and maybe one games to lose for the rest of the season, the Packers still have to play @Eagles, Bears, Rams, @Dolphins, Vikings (who we've already lost to), and Lions (who we've already lost to). Should be easy! :yes:

Y2023 is a "void year" in Rodgers contract. I wonder if hell stay with GB? A whiney Rodgers is still better than Love, imo.

Haven't seen much out of Love to suggest that he could ever be the guy (even though he hasn't had much public opportunity), and the fact that the coaching/front office did the opposite of what they did with Favre pretty much cements that he's a bust to me: you wouldn't keep paying Rodgers 50 million a year at the very tail-end of his career if you really felt like you already had the guy in waiting. But regarding the void year...to my knowledge, the extension he signed this past off-season got rid of the void year stuff, so his contract is real until he retires (well, assuming he retires by 2026).

I think the NFC wildcard teams will be Boys, Giants, C-Hox/Niners (whichever one doesn't win the division).

So, of course muh Boys follow up their best game of the season with the worst half of football they've played all year. 3 turnovers, 2 interceptions and a turnover on downs, and several horrendous penalties that extended Giants drives and wiped away an interception. We're a very talented team that won't stop shooting itself in the foot playing a modestly talented team that doesn't make mistakes. Honestly, we're lucky to only be down 6 at half.

Why can't we ever have a halfway decent coach that will instill discipline in the players?

A slightly better second half. Well, probably: I didn't actually watch any of the game, Thanksgiving stuff.

Our superior talent took over in the 2nd half once we cleaned up the turnovers (still too many penalties). Also, who says white men can't jump?

We're at 8-3 and sitting pretty. We have 3 games in a row against teams that have no business beating us. We'll probably have a stupid loss in there somewhere, that's what undisciplined teams do, but we only need 2 wins to get in.

Hey, you never know, Packers might have already been the stupid loss.

Come on now, you know better than that. Muh Boys are good for AT LEAST 2 stupid losses a season. Our week 1 loss to Tampa doesn't count since it was week 1. Week 1 is chaos, nothing makes sense since teams are still sort of in preseason form.

I've been asking this question for half a decade, why don't muh Boys run the option more? I'm not saying run it all the time, I'm saying like 3 times a game, rather than the 3 times a season that we run it now. It's very effective nearly every time we run it. Dak is so well suited to run the option. He doesn't run a lot, when he scrambles he's almost always looking to throw it, rather than take off running. However, when he does run, he's quite effective, so you have to honor him potentially keeping the ball on the option. Plus, he's a big guy and can give the runner (probably Pollard) a halfway decent block just by putting his body in the defender's way.

@BartimaeusIf you're the Packers you start Jordan Love the rest of the season, right? I mean, I guess I can't mathematically eliminate the Packers yet, but let's be real, y'all ain't making the playoffs.

Side-note: The NFC East is a collective 32-13 😲

The NFC South doesn't have a single team with a winning record.🤭

Between Rodgers' broken thumb, potentially broken ribs, and the season being 99% mathematically lost at this point, I'd say so. Start Jordan Love, see that he probably sucks, lose most or all of the rest of our games, get a nice draft pick, try again next year. If Jordan Love sucks, we finally know for sure that he doesn't matter and it's the Aaron Rodgers' show for the next couple of seasons...if he shockingly doesn't, then...well, that's a good even if difficult problem to have.

I gotta say, as a Jets fan I hate when teams tank. My Jets earn their ****ty records the old fashion way: trying to win and being absolute dog water. 😤

If you were tanking you'd still be starting Zach Wilson.:shifty:

CeeDee Lamb is an alien:alien:

Edit: Dak needs to clean up his throws. He threw 2 interceptions in the first half, 1 of them just happened to get dropped.

Edit 2: Did I mention that CeeDee Lamb is an alien?

Edit 3: That was uncomfortably close for 3 quarters, then muh Boys blew the game wide open. At 9-3 we're 1 win away from the playoffs.

Edit 4: Muh Boys scored 33 points in the 4th quarter.

tenor.gif

Was this the single greatest 1 quarter beatdown ever? That was so absurd a curb stomping that I actually felt bad for the Colts at the end.

That 4th quarter was like watching the Midnight Express against a jobber tag team. A minute into the match the Express already has one of the jobbers beat, but instead of pinning him they drag his lifeless, limp body to his corner and force his partner to tag in just so that they could beat the $#!+ out of him too. Then they would toss him to the outside and distract the ref so that Jim Cornette could get some licks in with the tennis racket. :lol:

Yeah. Muh Boys are fine at wide receiver. CeeDee Lamb is an alien, Michael Gallup is a solid #2, and Noah Brown isn't exactly chopped liver either. Would I like to see a fully healthy OBJ on the Cowboys? Of course, but at what cost?

Muh Boys continuing their recent trend of playing like dog$#!+ and shooting themselves in the foot, repeatedly, in the first half. 2 turnovers, a fumble on a punt and a pick thrown by Dak. This is the 3rd straight game with multiple turnovers in the first half. We're lucky to only be down by 3.

Edit: Trevon Diggs is an alien 👽

Edit 2: I said we'd have a stupid loss somewhere in this stretch of easy games and it doesn't get more stupid than losing to the Texans.:facepalm:

Edit 3: We won! HOLY **** WE WON! HOW!? Muh Boys had no business winning that game. By all rights we should be 9-4. Then that EPIC goal line stand and the beautiful 98 yard game winning drive. Dak was really shaky all game until that last drive, then he suddenly turned into the greatest QB on planet Earth. Laser precision on that last drive. We have 10 wins and I'm operating on the assumption that 10 wins gets you in to the playoffs in the NFC. It's all gravy from here until the playoffs.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go have a heart attack.
