Hello,

The price to upgrade to our level unique weapons is too high, even with Science 100...
Science weapons are also too expensive to upgrade to lv 30, there is not enough money in the game to upgrade all unique weapons + Science weapons to lv 30.
It require adjustment...

PS : i am at Science 100

other than science weapon

tinker are a mostly pointless mechanic

many way to reform this system

use part to upgrade item make more sense than bits

Good idea, because even the lv1 weapons give you the same amount of parts than a lv30.
5 companions to equip with lv 30 weapons and armor cost a lot.. and it is not a question of difficulty.

when most of the mechanic is built around bits and the argument is that the price is too high then, yes, it is about what you consider too difficult

more difficult and less handholding all tied to a games actual in-game mechanics is welcomed in this age of dumbed down accessibility and cinematics

It is not a matter of difficulty, it is the matter of having weapon corresponding to your level. This can't be done with special weapons, because they are mostly very very low level. So i don't understand why we have unique weapons if they are far less powerful than standard weapon, unless you want to spend 10000 bits to upgrade one weapon.

i just took my level 10 with 40 science and tinckered Fixer and a regular revolver

each tinckering cost was only a bit more for Fixer but the end resulting damage/dps was significantly greater for Fixer

did the same with Maxwell and regular impact hammer and, again, tincker prices were only a bit more at each comparable level

there must be other variables involved

Yeah higher lvl weapons should give more parts

Wait until you reach lv 30, and you will want to upgrade a lv 10 science weapon / unique to your level, then you will see...
Unique weapon and science weapons are useless unless you upgrade them, and because when you found them you are 10 lv higher than the weapon, it cost a lot...

Example : Assault rifle "Thunder" it is lv 15, but when you reach it you already are Lv 22-23, so the weapon is useless unless you upgrade it to your level, and it is very very expansive. (4414 bits to upgrade it to lv 21 - i will not upgrade it more because it is too much)
In a word, there is not enough money in the game to upgrade all the unique weapons to lv30.

I have managed to upgrade to lvl 35 all science weapons and my plasmanrifle (the last one costed me a fortune).

Once your each science 100 paying 200 for an upgrade isn't much as long as you sell extra weapons, armor and mods.

Science weapons are the exception, and only for science weapons, unique weapons are not capped like science weapons. We have only 5 science weapons in the game. and a lot of unique weapons which could be nice once upgraded, but it is impossible, not enough money.

are you saying that at higher levels the formula i described above does not hold true?

in other words, at higher levels:

the discrepancy between tinckering identical level uniques and their normal alternate becomes greater?

because if thats true, then, obsidian purposefully chose to implement a mechanic that only exasperates the flawed and subpar (tho, no weaker than other rpgs and sandbox games) system

the cost of upgrade is exponential, in other word it double each time you upgrade... 1st time you upgrade = x50, 2nd time = x100, 3rd time = x200, etc...

yes, thats what my experimentation has concluded, as well...at low levels

however, that applies to the regular version, as well

the unique costs, per upgrade were only slightly and exponentially greater than the normal version

unless, that cost continues to become greater at higher levels and, therefore, unequal with the normal counterpart at high levels, i dont understand the debate

lol, of course, ill know myself soon as i reach those higher levels shortly
