Well, ever since they joined Microsoft, gamepass certainly opened a lot of doors for them. They don't have to create streamlined ARPGs with the intent of selling millions of copies. Since their main objective is to diversify gamepass' library in order to attract more people into the platform, they can create niche, isometric RPGs without the fear of going bankrupt. So it's entirely possible that another isometric CRPG is currently being developed over at the studio. I'm highly confident that Obsidian is planning on releasing a third installment to the Pillars franchise.

So this makes two unannounced projects being worked at Obsidian?

Sad that it's something I won't get to play since it is first person.

They have multiple unannounced projects.

Brandon Adler is a project director

Adam Brennecke is a project director

Matthew Perez is a project director

Josh Sawyer is a project director

Not to mention Sawyer's project code name is Missouri, and Outer Worlds is Indiana. That's a lot of states between those two.

I figured as much, but that's a LOT of projects: Mississippi, Illinois, Alabama, Maine, Missouri.

Well, hopefully at least a couple of them are games I would want to play, which is to say single-player, party-based, RTwP, and not first-person.

What's the source on those projects? Not disbelieving you, just hard to see where the information comes from.

LinkedIn lists Brennecke, Adler and Perez as Game/Project Directors with starting dates within 1 year. Some of the projects started last year, some during this year. Josh tweeted about his project in the same way he has tweeted about his previous projects which confirmed Missouri as the project name.
