Jinresh
Is there some method I'm overlooking for getting gear from companions on the official solo setting? Or is that gear just not an option on solo setting. Prior to the official setting I would just kill them once they joined the party (I'm horrible I know). I tried attacking them on the ship on potd solo, but they just out healed any damage I could do to them.
Boeroer
That gear is usually no option. You can't pick up companions and thus can't strip them. Maybe on death they drop it - but you need hefty sustained damage to kill them out of combat. baldurs_gate_2
Well, i don't think that is meant to be solo, because you actually have to add him / her to your party and in deadfire, you can avoid every group member, not like how it was in the first game. Dorftek
I usually kill whoever I want the gear from without recruiting them, this makes them hostile and there will be a fight. This can't be done on Eder tho who u can only get the gear from if u can out dmg his healing where u wake up on the ship. Monks can pull it off on potd because of how fast and dmging their fists are. Serafen can be found and killed in Fort Deadlight for his Handmortar. Maia Rua can be found and killed at the leader of brass citadel, her friends there don't mind if u kill her lol. Aloth is most easily killed outside of the governors in port maje if u don't want to wait until u get to Rusare who would have already done the task for u. Don't attempt Xoti in port maje, everyone will aggro u. Wait until u get to Neketaka, she can be found in a temple in sacred stairs. Those are the only ones I've killed I think. Oh right and Pallegina is just standing around in Queens Berth when u arrive waiting to be murdered, no one will mind. So you're rejecting them in the first meeting then finding and killing them later? This would be useful to know because a few of them have basically build defining weapons. I had been inviting them, though they never enter the party because it's solo, then like Boeroer pointed out I found I was unable to do enough damage to kill them once the were considered an ally. Metaturtle
Companions not in your active party still accrue injuries when being knocked out in ship battles. So if your character is able to survive ship boardings, you can treat the companions as cannon fodder who eventually end up a casualty not by your hands. Very useful information for solo. Keep up the good work. Oh right and Pallegina is just standing around in Queens Berth when u arrive waiting to be murdered, no one will mind. Why would they?

Yes exactly, reject them, hunt them down and kill them
