Who is Mirke?
Zap Gun For Hire replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
She's not recruitable. She has no dialogue for joining in the stringtables and I unlocked both the companion and sidekick achievements without her in the party. She's 'just' a cool and memorable NPC. Which isn't a bad thing, I'll point out. -

Mirke is NOT a recruitable sidekick. I checked her stringtable and there's no option to recruit her. And when I just finished a speedrun test on unlocking the achievement for recruiting all of the sidekicks, I got it after getting the four known sidekicks (Rekke, Fessina, Ydwin, and Konstanten). So whatever sites are saying Mirke is a sidekick look to be wrong. FWIW, the official wiki only lists 4 sidekicks as well. -
You say that like it's a good thing. --- One of things I liked about PoE I is that there were a couple of factions that, while they had warts, could be seen 'good', especially if one prodded them in the right direction. Hell, even the bastard faction had one fairly decent option. If all the factions are more warts than not (to put it mildly), that really doesn't appeal to me personally. After all, I want to deal with Real Life, I'll stick my head outside the door. Basically I want a faction that I can actually want to see succeed, not where I swallow my bile and look the other way.

I've done Fassina's quest, but I still can't get an option for her to join. Do I have to do any/more of the archmage stuff first before being given the option to recruit her? -
Deadfire will self-delete and not let you play again. Just kidding. Josh has said that the Eyeless killing everyone is one of the few player choice options to NOT carry over as he felt it wouldn't be fair to players who did complete the game without completing the White March. So feel free to use that save with confidence. No idea about Maneha as I haven't played enough of the game yet.

Nope. If it was, I wouldn't have started this topic. --- I also think part of it is... It's kinda boring on the nth playthrough. It's literally clickclickclick listenlistenlisten clickclickclick. Great for establishing mood. And when I really want to be immersed, I'll be glad it's there. But if I want to try out various things at the start of the game? Or just get on with it? Not so much. In short, it's great for role play. Not as much for game. Having it there is great for the former. Being able to bypass it by choice would be nice for the latter.

Okay, I'm not sure exactly which section to put this in, but since it isn't a bug per se, I'll put it here. I'd like to request a feature that allows us to either skip ahead straight to the conversation with the Pallid Knight (presuming the conversation has some sort of in-game consequence PAST the non-standard GAME OVER option), or bypass it altogether when creating a character. Don't get me wrong, on the first couple of playthroughs it's very immersive. But when I'm attempting to try out various new things at the beginning of the game, having to wade through that non-skippable intro can get to be a slog. clickclickclick listenlistenlisten clickclickclick I just want to be able to create my new character! Everything past the conversation with the Knight but before the PC "wakes up" is fine, I guess, as that's not very long (though being able to skip that as well might be nice). But the long walk before hand? Not so much. Not the biggest complaint in the world. But as someone who likes to tinker at the start of games, the time adds up. Thanks in advance for considering this, if you do, Obsidian.

Apparently there was an "extra" code, as the one donotgo reported was in the PDF version of the manual. At least according to reddit. === Also good news for everyone who has already started a game. If you save your current game, quit Deadfire, and then load Deadfire back up again, Cuthroat Cosmo will be added to your stash automatically when you load your save! No having to start a new game to get the last item, in other words.

Ok, so I've done a couple of starts of the game and so far I have just had a choice to save one of my crewmen (Chitupec) or or save some loot from Caed Nua. But the interesting thing is, there is another set of options available in the file 21_si_shipwreck.stringtable that I can't seem to trigger. Namely it appears possible to warn Chitupec of the crate falling in the first place or do other things involved with it. But I haven't got my head around the new scripting language that's being used in PEII so I'm not sure how they get triggered. I.e. is it a character trait/stat or how one handled the pirate situation before hand. Or if it is random. Or if it can be triggered at all. I know that the actual script that governs this is 21_si_shipwreck.conversationbundle, but that's about it. So I suppose my question is, has anyone been able to get the choice of: 1. Grab the crate. 2. Tackle Chitupec. 3. Warn Chitupec. to trigger, and if so, how? NOTE: This is separate from the: 1. Rescue Chitupec 2. Save the crate. option.

Be our Guinea Pig and find out! j/k: As long as you don't type "iroll20s" you'll be fine. (And even if you're not, disabling achievements doesn't carry over from one save game to the next.)

Hmmm. 47th code landed when we were on page 47. Obviously we need to make this thread 55 pages so we can get those last eight codes. SCIENCE!!!

As someone who has preloaded the game, I can say that each of these items are appearing one by one as separate DLCs over on Steam, as they get unlocked. Leads me to believe that the last item can easily be unlocked even after the game officially launches. It really just depends on when they shutdown the logbook, IMO. And even then, the whole thing can be released as a free DLC pack sometime down the line (for both GoG and Steam).
