It equals free look always - if you activate force sight, you just get to see it that way... or if you control Visas and switch to free look, since she sees only through force sight at all times - I love that they remembered to include that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interestingly enough, this is also true of Kreia.

Best class/prestige class combination
Darth Invictus replied to Jediphile's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The absolute best combination in my experience is Consular / Weapon Master (I suppose Consular / Marauder would work nicely too, but I'm not much into Dark Side stuff). You get the combat prowess of the Weapon Master, plus the full range of Force Focus, plus 15 levels worth of bonus powers, plus a massive base of FP to build on when you go prestige class. You also get the amazing Juyo form, which is reason enough to take Weapon Master / Marauder in any event. Getting a +3 to both your STR and WIS ain't a bad part of that deal either. Guardian / Watchman is my second favorite, because I love getting Sneak Attacks added onto Force Jump, not to mention being a gah-dam skill machine. Also, Watchmen get the Shien form earlier than Weapon Masters, and combining Shien with Master Critical Strike just plain rocks the casbah. (Of course, Weapon Masters get Ataru earlier and can combine that with Master Power Attack for perhaps an even greater effect). -

TSL: Jedi Robes, Armors, & Power Crystals
Darth Invictus replied to a topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Er, is it even possible to find most of these robes without a mod? I've been through the game numerous times and have never found any of the named robes, nor the Mentor armor. -
can somone answer this question for me please?
Darth Invictus replied to dongerman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Nope. It's for Jedi Guardians only. Even Sith Marauders and Jedi Weapon Masters don't get it (as my Consular found out to his dismay when he became a JWM). -
Mira & HK-47, Romantic Duo
Darth Invictus replied to Darth Invictus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Thank you, you've been helpful. My point is those dialogue options *do not appear*. I assume it's due to some wonkiness of the Influence system, but exactly how I don't know. -
The first time I played through, I got an exquisitely funny dialogue with HK-47 wherein I asked him what love was and he gave an impassioned description of kneecapping someone from 50 meters with a blaster rifle (or words to that effect). However, on subsequent playthroughs I have never gotten this dialogue option with him again. Does anyone know what the conditions are to get this question? Similarly, on my first time through I got a hilarious exchange between Handmaiden and Mira that showed Mira describing to a befuddled Handmaiden how best to get a man (if you've played as a female it's largely the same dialogue you get when you ask her if she understands men). Like the HK-47 question on love, I've never gotten this exchange again. Anyone know what the prerequisites are? Thanx!

Sara Kestelman - voice of Kreia
Darth Invictus replied to phiont's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Kreia, in my estimation, may well be the most skilfully crafted video game character to date. The moment when you confront the Jedi Council and she counterpoints their assertions about your handicap ("You were deafened ... " "You could hear ... "; "You were broken ... " "You were whole ... ") never fails to give me chills. So much of this is due to Kestelman's perform that she should receive some sort of special award for it. Bravo! -
Can We Move On, Please?
Darth Invictus replied to Darth Jebus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Truncated ending or no, I quite liked it and found it generally superior to the original, although of course lacking the original's freshness, which was probably unavoidable. You know, unaware of the endings that were excised, I found the ending that is present affecting and enjoyable. It certainly wasn't significantly better or worse than the original KOTOR's ending -- in fact I found the whole Trayus Academy sequence very reminiscent of the battle royale in the Star Forge -- and I liked Kreia's newsflashes of my companions and the worlds I'd visited. The parting shot was poignant and left me wanting a sequel. For me, they delivered ... but perhaps I'm simple. -
Handmaiden - unlocking "Tell me about Atris."
Darth Invictus replied to Azr1el's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think it's a glitch, actually. I've influenced Handmaiden both Light and Dark and lemme tell you -- I have never, not once, gotten an answer to this question *unless* I ask it during my first conversation with her (on the Ebon Hawk, not at the Academy). I actually think it's designed to be a relatively low-Influence question, since she's answered it without fail after a single influence gain ("Forget about Atton, we have plenty of room" or whatever the line is) ... but she has never answered it if I've asked it *after* that first conversation. Ever. It's not a terribly important conversational thread, though. You can turn her to a Jedi just fine without it. -
Interesting Tidbits...
Darth Invictus replied to Darth Invictus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Of course the Sith also destroyed Taris, Dantooine, and Telos before either game began, but that just strengthens your point. Both Jedi and Sith are running around pell mell blowing worlds into oblivion, so the common Republic citizen can hardly distinguish one from the other. I suppose my doubts probably stem from my conception of Malachor V pre-Mandalorian Wars ... to the Mandalorians it was a taboo world, so I imagined it as being an empty world except for the Trayus Academy itself, and thus not an act of destruction on the level of Taris or even Peragus. But I suppose it could just as easily have been a world as fully inhabited as Telos or Taris (though there is no evidence of that -- we see no displaced Malachor natives, nor are there any ruins on the planet other than buried Republic vessels and the intact Academy). I would *love* to know what Malachor V was like before the mass shadow generator, but I suppose that's just not in the cards. -
Interesting Tidbits...
Darth Invictus replied to Darth Invictus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ugh, that's right, the Sith bombed Telos. Shows me for posting so late at night. But still, Atton mentions the atrocities on other worlds, so the whole "Malachor was worse than anything" remains a bit of a head scratcher ... although I suppose the fact the Exile and Bao-Dur killed hundreds (thousands?) of Jedi and Republic soldiers alongside the Mandalorians might have something to do with that. I'm well aware of the buried dialogue files that reveal so much of the story ... I just think it's interesting (and more than a little perplexing) that crucial details are secreted in the oddest places around the game. I mean, think about it ... these loading screens are the only place Darth Nihilus' name is even *mentioned* outside of your quest log! I'm starting to believe that a content patch might not be such an unthinkable thing. -
Not to gainsay you, but I've never had any trouble getting the charges from him; I just make sure to ask him to join the militia before I repair the war droids. But hell, that's the nature of this game, isn't it? One man's never-fail strategy is another man's unfixable glitch. Ask me about getting all the Telos bounties sometime ... I have yet to see those work.

So I hit the dreaded dialogue bug during the apocalyptic showdown with Darth Sion. Since it was my third trip through the game I didn't bother reloading, but I did go to the dialogue screen ... and lo and behold I found *crucial* plot points buried in the loading screens. When I'm at Malachor V these things usually go too fast to read, and I rather wish they hadn't. My feelings on the game and ending notwithstanding (I'm generally positive), I cannot for the life of me figure out why these little factoids wouldn't have made it into dialogue somewhere ... they seem a trifle important. Bear with me as these are not exact quotes: 1) The Trayus Academy somehow survived the Malachor incident and drew the Jedi to its halls (obvious). 2) The Malachor incident is the greatest tragedy of the Mandalorian Wars, an atrocity far worse than anything the Mandalorians did (while this is pretty important for the Exile's story, I have a hard time believing it -- Telos alone seems on a comparable level with Malachor, and we know from Atton's remarks alone that Telos was far from the only world that the Mandalorians burnt). 3) The unusual gravitonic fields of the Malachor system are what made it possible for Bao-Dur to build the mass shadow generator in the first place (probably not important, but I feel the total lack of detail given to the mass shadow generator -- it REALLY should have been mentioned by name sometime during your chats with Bao-Dur -- makes even this tidbit juicy). 4) Traya, Sion, and Nihilus were drawn to the Trayus Academy and learned different techniques of the ancient Sith ... Sion learned pain, Nihilus learned hunger, and Traya learned betrayal only to be betrayed in turn (not surprising, but my goodness it sheds a bit of light on Nihilus ... if only there was more!). Check out the messages that pop up while you're on Malachor V...maybe even more detail of the story will emerge.

Sorry, this is incorrect. To get the thorium charges without killing Akkerre, you need to ask him to join the militia *before* you find his hydrospanner (I am not sure if the dialogue option shows up if you've already found it). Since you aren't holding his scam over his head, he'll offer to join the militia if you buy his thorium charges for 1000 credits. Considering how easy credits are to come by in this game, I tend to think it's worth it.

So I'm doing the Nar Shaddaa finale. Atton goes for his drink, gets bushwhacked by the Twin Suns ... except he must have done something right, because only ONE of the sisters turns hostile -- the other stays a regular NPC with a green name and a health bar over her head with no attack commands. But it gets better! She teams up with Atton and they BOTH annihilate the other sister. Alas, the game would progress no further after that and I was forced to reload. But it were pretty funny.

I've posted this in the forum to no avail, but I'll make mention of it here in the hopes a dev will see it ... I have had problems with NPCs getting no experience points while not in the party. These have included Mira, the Handmaiden, and T3-M4. The problem with the two former seemed to kick in after they became Jedi; with T3-M4 it occurred during the final Nar Shaddaa missions. Thank you.

Help -- Lost XP bug

Horace, I've encountered a very similar bug to what you describe re: the Handmaiden and Mira on the PC version. In my version neither Handmaiden nor T3-M4 got XP while on the Ebon Hawk once I began the final Nar Shaddaa missions (everything from your invitation to the Jekk'Jekk Tarr to Goto's Yacht). However, leaving the Handmaiden as a Soldier didn't help. Have you heard any more about this problem?

Help -- Lost XP bug
Darth Invictus replied to Darth Invictus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well that certainly sucked. After reloading an earlier game, the problem is just much worse -- no one gets any XP when on the Ebon Hawk. I've decided to just ditch the whole thing and start over after I've cooled down. Has ANYONE encountered this problem? It seems like a really unforgivable glitch. -
I just completed the lengthy final section of Nar Shaddaa (Atton's duel with the Twi'leks, Jekk-Jekk Tarr, then Mira in the hideout, then the warehouse, then Goto's Yacht) and when I regained access to my whole party the Handmaiden had received no experience for any of it (she was almost 4 levels behind). I can't find any way to fix this without going back to a much earlier save where she was still in line with everyone else, but even so I was hoping someone could tell me how such a bug gets triggered so I can avoid it in the future.
