Cut Content (part 2) - Kath Hounds sold out
Jambo replied to Torrentus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Say, how about that content that got cut out of the game? All of that wonderful, incredible, geniusly developed content that got cut from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords due to the scumbags at Lucas Arts putting a B.S. release date on the game, preventing the wonderful people at Obsidian from completing game, forcing them to make up a bunch of last minute filler material. How about that sh*t! I'll bet if BioWare took the job, was given the same time period to complete the game in and had the same deadline, Lucas Arts would have been a little more lenient. I say this because BioWare is tad bigger and has little more "authoritah." I know that this has been said before, but I get the feeling that Obsidian left all of the cut dialog, scripts and whatnot on the game disks on purpose. They wanted some curious little gamers to go treasure hunting, and damn the stuff that's been found is some of the best treasure I've ever seen, or heard. -
Cut Content (part 2) - Kath Hounds sold out
Jambo replied to Torrentus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, all I can is 14th to 21 in a 24 hour period is one hell of a drop, and that Amazon is one of the major sources of computer/video games, especially among other online stores. Personally, I couldn't care less if they decided not to make KotOR 3. Second sequels are always lame as hell and I'd much rather be disappointed that they didn't make it, than disappointed that I just spent $50 of my hard-earned money on four little plastic disks that I'd like to use as clay pigeons. -
I'm looking for a post. I can't remember the title of the thread or the name of the poster, but I do remember the content of the post. The poster speculated that the reason why the True Sith goaded the Mandalorians into starting a war with the Republic was so the Mandalorians would be wiped out and would not be a threat. And that the plot behind KotOR 2 was to eliminate all of the Jedi so that they too would not be a potential threat. And that the True Sith's plot behind all of this was to weaken their potential enemies so they could take over the galaxy. That isn't it work for word, but that's the idea that I got. Anyway, I thought it was an incredibly well thought out post, more so than this one, obviously. And I'm probably doing the original poster a disservice if this post doesn't reflect his/her's. I would have found the post already, but aparently I never posted in the same thread because I can't find the thread in any of "My Topics." If you happen to know what I'm talking about (Well, I'd be surprised) or if you happen to be that poster, let me know. P.S. Undestand that I feel like the biggest idiot posting a thread about a post I can't find (despite my best efforts).

Ideas for kotor 3? returning people? planets?
Jambo replied to Draken's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This, my friend, is what I call a good idea. Being able to start out as to completely different characters and even start the game in two different locations, albeit on the same planet, would really add to replayablilty and what would be cool is you could have a romance between the two if you choose for them to be the opposite sex, or even if you have them both be female. Hell yeah! I'll be honest with you, I've never been too terribly excited about all these hair-brained ideas about starting out as Revan or the exile in K3, but I really like this idea. It could work if they could fit it all onto to a DVD/R for Xbox. With PC, there's no limit to HOW big they make the damn game. But you have to consider that if they give you the capabilty to play one of two completely different characters, they might have to "make" room for two complelely different NPC's for the character that you don't choose. e.i. dialog for Revan if you're Exile and vice-versa. Oh, SH*T!!! I just realized something!!! It would still work, no matter what!!!! Even if one of them is Sith and the other is a Jedi, it would still WORK!!! Because they have to put aside their petty differences in believe and philosophy because they share the same enemy. That's what NPC's talked about Revan in K2, what I gathered is that Revan, as a Sith, had no intention of destroying the galaxy. He/she had the forsight to know that no one would benefit from that, neither Sith nor Jedi. I also get the idea that he/she didn't want to wipe out the Jedi because he/she wasn't a brute like Malak, by any stretch of the imagination. Both Jedi and Sith have to battle against a common enemy. Okay, okay. I'm calm now...breath in......breath out.....We need to come up with more ideas like this. It's a little scetchy, but clean it up a little bit, make a little more polished, more presentable and we've got ourselves a starting point. The thing about this idea is it keeps "the game" from asking way too many questions about the first two games. You start out as one of the characters, you decide which side of the force you leaned toward in K1 or K2. I imagine once you start a new game, you first get to decide which whether you want to be Revan or The Exile. Then you get to build up BOTH of them: select the model for each character, decide what class they each are, select their stats, skills and feats. AND give The Exile a name, that way even if you decide to play as Revan, when you encounter the exile, you would address he/she by his/her name. Because Revan would know one of his/her generals if he/she saw him/her. I like this idea because there's really no need to make Revan a surprise because the name is going to The Return of Revan. I don't recall which member came up with that, but it's a good name. Okay, I'm done. -

DAMN IT! it's back up to twenty. Well, I just wrote a review for it. Maybe that'll dissuade a few buyers. Really, we have nothing to worry about in terms of KotOR 3. If they're going to make it, then they've probably already made their decision. But if they haven't decided yet and they they call it off all of a sudden, then good riddance because who wants to go through a repeat of KotOR 2. Perhaps, this time around they won't put out an incomplete product. I've got my fingers crossed. -
no, I don't believe so, but I could be wrong. On a similar note, the amount of experience points you receive decreases as your level increases. I noticed this first in KotOR 1 when slaughtering Desert Wraids and again in the hidden tomb on Korriban doing the Hssiss trick. The Hssiss Lizards went from 450 to 375 to 300. I imagine that if you were feeling ballsy enough, you could hold back level-ups early on in the game so each kill gets you more experience points. So, in a way, yes, the more difficult the game is, the more experience points you get, but not in the way of the difficulty setting.

about having different dialog option for handmaiden, I know exactly way that is. I bought the Prima Guide from Wal-Mart and anyway, the appedix mentioned that on your third playthrough, you're supposed to get some extra dialog option with handmaiden. Unfortunately for me, I bought the guide a after I started my third playthrough, as a female. But maybe I'll get the extra dialog on my fifth playthrough as a male.

No one get me started on Disciple. He was such a pooner. I hated his voice with a passion. I never used him at all, even after I had the one and only conversation to turn him into a Jedi Consular. I just hate him. I hate him even more than I hated the entire planet of Manaan in KotOR 1. Once I get him, I just hate it because it reminds me that this is the pole-smoker who I'm stuck with instead of Handmaiden, who totally kicked ass. Besides, Handmaiden's a little easier on the eyes than THAT choade.
-
In case you don't know, that's from KotOR 1. But, he did say organic that time. I even double checked it in the written dialog window, just to make sure. Next time you go down to the Hrakert Station, take HK-47 with you, suggest to the mercenary that he go with you up to the surface and you will get that exact dialog, right down to the st-st-studdering when the mercenary responds. Trust me.

The List of Continuity Mistakes
Jambo replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
hey, Obsidian recycled a LOT of stuff from the first game. The items, mainly. They used the image for one item and used it for another. I was very dissappointed it the short cuts that they took. OH, OH, OH! Hey, does anyone remember that door on the Harbinger that leads to the Engines? How STUPID was THAT?! They used the EXACT same door that BioWare used for the doors in Lower City Taris, when there was nothing wrong with all of the other doors on the Harbinger. All of the doors match, except one. They did the same thing at the Exchange headquarters on Nar Shaddaa: All of the doors match except the door leading to the boss's office. That door was the exact same one that BioWare used for the Dreshdae colony on Korriban. It was stupid that they felt like they HAD to use stuff from the first game that was completely unnecessary, just because they didn't have to design it from scratch like BioWare did. For a lot of stuff, all they had to do was just cut-and-paste. When I came across stuff like that, I just felt cheated. O.K. I'm done bitching. -
Yeah, that's sounds extremely immature. What jerk would poke fun at you because you had an major glitch with a game that THEY developed? You know, I can imagine Snake from the Simpson's saying something to the effect of, "Dude! Your game is totally busted!" I'd be pissed if that happened to me and I saved without thinking, and then that "broken" message comes up.

The List of Continuity Mistakes
Jambo replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
To be honest, what I saw in my mind's eye, with just the discription that Canderous gave in the first game, somewhat resembled a beetle-like insect and hear I come to find out that that's what it was orginally supposed to look like. About the armour, I assume you're refering to the armour in the game that doesn't restrict Force Powers, with the stupid-looking flap than hangs down: don't get me started. It pained me just to look at that crap. I only wore it on my first play through. After that, ever piece of Jal Shey Armour (I think that's what it's called) that I came across, I just broke down into components or sold it to some unfortunate soul. About this thread being scary and the obsessive fans: Yes, it is and yes, we are! I don't think that I'm quite as obsessive as a few of the other people here, but that's just from my point of view. This thread is like a 12-car/truck pile-up. It's pretty damn messy, but you know you want to check it out just to see how bad/ugly it is. But now I'm involved in the 12-car/truck pile-up so I feel obigated to stick around until the "police" come by and sort everything out.....and I have to bitch at the other drivers. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
Jambo replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hey, great detective work, Sherlock! I'm pretty sure that a good number of us realize that. No one every said that it WAS a Viraga. Some people just chose to refer to it as such because it looks so much more like a Virage than a Basilisk War Droid. On side note, if you haven't even played the game yet, how the hell would you know what it looks like? I mean, for all you know, it could be IDENTICAL to a Virago, right down to the last detail. Maybe you should play the game so your arguement will carry more weight. Or maybe so you can at least put up a good arguement. -
Cut Content (part 2) - Kath Hounds sold out
Jambo replied to Torrentus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You know, I'm finding that a lot, if not all of the uncovered cut content, dialog in streamvoice folder, makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Specifically Streamvoice/852/852mand. That's some of the best cut dialog that I've ever found, except for the cut ending dialog. The way Canderous talked about what Revan told him about the Sith in the Unknow Regions, it just sent chills up my spine. -
Read what other person says, type up rebuttal, post. Not that difficult. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, a while after my last post, I realized that you guys were just cut-and-pasting other posts. Understand that I meant no offense. It just seemed like it was getting to the point that you and Ulicus's posts were looking like transcripts of telephone conversations. Oh, well. Forget I said anything. Happy posting!!!!!

The List of Continuity Mistakes
Jambo replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
OMG, finally a reply from someone who is neither insulting nor disagreeing with me. My wish came true. But seriously, I share your opinion in that the Basilisk War Box is more of a ship than a droid. Your reply really sums up my opinion of it. Apparently, I'm not very good at expressing myself. -
Well, after scanning through page 7, I have come to the conclusion that anyone that has the time to reply with posts that take up HALF OF AN ENTIRE PAGE must not have much of a social life and should probably get out more often. How do you guys do it? I know that those posts were from a week ago, and I have posted my share of replies, but never have I or will I reply with a post that takes up THAT much room. I guess I just don't have any desire to post a rebuttal to every single post I think is bullsh*t...all in the same reply.

What are these midichlorides that everyone's talking about? Damn! I need watch the trilogy! The fact that Anakin was genetically engineered to be a bad ass certainly doesn't gain him any points. That makes it sound like the only reason why "he's more powerful than Revan" is because of the genetic enhancement. Revan doesn't rely on any midichlorides to make him a better force user. He/she's all natural.
-
Personally, I think Revan was more powerful in that he was extremely intelligent. He was a tactician and a leader. Darth Vader was just brute with life support suit. Like someone else mentioned earlier, Vader was just a more powerful version of Malak. Actually, Vader was nothing more than Malak with prosthetic arms and a life support suit. "Hey, look at me. I'm so powerful that I lost my arms when I was younger. I'm so powerful that I'm on 24/7 life support." Okay, okay, he can swing around a weightless beam of energy, even when he's half death, I'll give him that. To be honest, Darth Vader was the bad guy that I was afraid of when I was 5 or 6. Revan is the bad guy that I'm afraid of now. The bad guy that he was, anyway. Even though Revan was/is still young, I believe that he/she could only become more powerful with age. Take 40-year-old Revan against 40-year-old Anakin/Vader and I think Revan would win. I realize that we're comparing a character from a game to a character from a movie...actually 6 movies, but what can you do? Hey, buddy, that whole movie blew. And so did attack of the clones. Hayden Christiansan's acting abilty ruined that entire movie for me. Yes, that was me that just said that. Every one of those prequels should've gone right down the sh*tter....and in the end, they did.

The List of Continuity Mistakes
Jambo replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Almost everything in SW defies the laws of physics. Or are lightsabers and hyperspace possible? <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Duh! Who doesn't already know that? I threw that in to just for the hell of it...and to see if someone would give a rebuttal. Honestly, I really don't care that half of the things that occur in the Star Wars Universe defy the laws of physics. That just makes thing more interesting, more entertaining. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
Jambo replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What it looks like is important, but you are correct, it did function as canderous said it would. It dropped straight from orbit like he said, butIt was just extremely disappointing because, well, it doesn't look like a droid. With exception of expert droid like T3-M4 and GO-TO and the like, the other droids tend to look like something. Whether it be humanoid or insect-like or somewhat resembling a living creature. The "Basilisk War Droid" depicted in KotOR 2 does not resemble anything...Well, okay, okay, I take that back. I does look like a school bus...and that's...um...something. -

Jambo replied to Torrentus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't know if this has been brought up already, but I found some sound files of HK-47 on Malachor V. It was what got cut from the Remote-GO-TO face off. Aparently, GO-TO arranged for some of his hired HK-50 droids to meet him on Malachor V. GO-TO brings this up when HK-47 finds GO-TO and Remote. says something like, "And while I find this small droid annoying in the extreme, I find my urge to shoot you takes a higher priority." When the HK-50's show up, the soon realize that they cannot kill HK-47 because of their self-preservation prorgraming. They end up killing GO-TO. But of course it could either way and it appears that this is no exception. Either HK-47 and the HK-50's kill GO-TO or the HK-50 never show up and somehow GO-TO fries HK-47 by himself. It's quite interesting. If anyone else wishes to listen to the sound files that has not already come across them, the dialog is in "sensorfi" in folder 901. Since it contains HK-47 dialog, you can expect some amount of humor. It's just hilarious the way HK-47 always refers to GO-TO as "fat one." -

Obviously you have been doing some selective reading. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have noticed than more that just couple of members have expressed displeasure in the way Obsidian made the "Basilisk War 'Droid'" look. Why are you and "keyboard-up-is-a**" ShadowPalpitine so up-idy about people stating that other people share the same opinion. But I now see the errors of my ways. I sincerely apologize for refering to those members as "people." My most Sincerest Apology EVER expressed, Jamin Koehn, a.k.a. "Jambo" -
I think you're a little confused. I never said that Kreia started the Mandalorian Wars. The True Sith in the Unknown Regions were never mentioned in the first KotOR. When Canderous said that "The Sith came to us with a proposition," refering to starting a war with the Republic, the pre-Revan and Malak, post-Exar Kun Sith are to whom he was refering. But what he didn't know was that those weren't the Sith that propositioned the Mandalorians, it was The True Sith of the Unknown Regions. Because they didn't know one type of Sith from another. You know they all look alike. lol. The way the dialog is worded in KotOR, I get the idea that everyone was completely unaware of the True Sith Empire in the Unknown Regions. I know it's kind of hard to think about what was talked about in KotOR 1 without having any preconceptions, but BioWare kept the storyline relatively simple (which was kind of nice) and there was no hinting that there was some other Sith Empire that I could find and I've beaten the 13 times.
