Yeah, I don't think it's that uncommon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi HKD Good to know I'm not going mad (well...).
-
Haven't quite a few demos been released after the actual game release, or am I going a bit mad? For some reason I seem to remember that the BG2 demo came after the game - but I might well be wrong...I don't generally pay a great deal of attention to demo releases.

From a purely gamer perspective - I find mobile phone games pretty horrible. Maybe it is a sign of aging...but really, I have enough aggravation using a mobile for texting... I played one sort of cute little platform game on my old mobile, but really the controls got quite annoying as the buttons were quite small. I certainly wouldn't pay to play a game on my mobile - that's what my DS and PSP are for. I just want a mobile phone to be exactly that - a phone. wanders off muttering about "youth of today" and the price of fish...

OT, but what happened to The Lair? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Save taking this thread off the rails completely, you can find the answers here.

*sigh* Oh well, I guess my bank account could do with the extra rest.

Centered on my desktop I've currently got the Charles Vess painting posted on his blog recently - http://greenmanpress.com/news/archives/48 - one of the images for the new Stardust hardcover.

The last few days I have mostly been listening to: Thea Gilmore - Harpo's Ghost - loving this almost as much as her previous work. Coraline Audiobook (read by Neil Gaiman).

Make love to me now you wonderful piece of manmeat! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know if I'll ever be able to repay the internet for all the disturbing mental images over the years... Good good.

I have yet to cancel my WoW account as my boyfriend plays, and so do some friends. When I mention cancelling my account, he makes sad faces, although really - I have only logged in once in the last month, and he is part of a regular raiding group that I'm not in, so he doesn't need me to play. Till WoW, MMOGs had only had had a six month or less lifespan for me - although SWG was only six months because of the boyfriend, again. Then - WoW has only lasted this long because I've been playing on and off and had more people bugging me to play. Without people I know playing, MMOGs have no pull whatsoever beyond character creation and the first few hours exploring the world/working out what's what. Other than the guilt factor, nothing keeps me playing. Not that WoW wasn't fun at any point - it was... I've come to the conclusion that, I should steer clear of MMOGs, I just don't get much out of them, and in reality I'm a single player gamer that enjoys the odd multi-player session with friends. That said, I'm certain I will be convinced to play Warhammer Online when it comes out. Such is my life. As far as FFXI goes - I tried it out, none of my friends were playing - I lasted all of a week before getting sick of it. I don't personally get into the whole equipment/PVP rank addiction - thankfully. I spend most of my time going "O RLY HOW NICE" when The Boy tells me what phat loot he obtained from the last Molten Core expedition. Anyway - if you don't want to play - don't play. I wouldn't put too much thought into it - that's where the trouble lies

Well if you still have all your old GBA stuff it plays that too. Although on the lite model the cart sticks out and catches on things. Wi Fi is also fun , you don't have to listen to anyone who dosnt have your friend codes. Kills the batteries very quickly though. There is a new Zelda, Mario , Metroid game , either coming out or already out so most of the classic Nintendo names are there. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are a very bad ShadowPaladin - you are not meant to add to the list of reasons to purchase one...And yes, I still have some of my GBA games...

I've been looking at the DS today, and the available games, and trying on one hand to justify spending the money on it, and then on the other hand trying to talk myself out of it on the grounds that I'm not likely to play it that much...Oh the confusion. Oddly, and on a vaguely related note I do regret selling my GameCube - sometimes a girl gets a craving for some Nintendo fun. I remember distinctly when they first came out, and I was out shopping with friends. One guy was all "OMG I Must get one of these awesome handhelds." and trying to work out how he could justify spending what was, at release, a significant chunk of cash on it. I couldn't see the attraction at the time. I like my handhelds to be just that really, I wouldn't want one with a phone tacked on...'s just odd...
-
I often find that I like the idea of handhelds more than I enjoy the reality. However, I loved my GameGear many moons ago, and I did derive a fair amount of enjoyment from my GBA. My PSP hasn't been too well used, but then I haven't been in a very generally "gamey" mood, and there haven't been any releases that spark my interest - bar puzzle games. A D&D game could be fun to dip into on the PSP. It really is a very nice handheld...

I really like As Heaven Is Wide <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really like the whole album, but I think Queer, Milk and Only Happy When It Rains are my particular favourites. Right now I am listening to the first Verve Remixed album. It is all kinds of awesome. Highlights: Is you is or is you ain't my baby - Dinah Washington (Rae & Christian Remix) Feeling Good - Nina Simone (Joe Claussell Remix) See-Line Woman - Nina Simone (Masters at Work remix) Strange Fruit - Billie Holiday (Tricky Remix)

Not amazingly far. I expect I will give it another chance sometime, but I really wasn't into it at all.

I'm certainly not a chap, but... I listen to music. I read, usually something by Neil Gaiman or Terry Pratchett if I'm feeling sad. I play with my dogs - puppy cuddles are the best for cheering you up. Watching one of my stock favourite films tends to work too.

I started to watch Equilibrium the other evening. I squealed with delight at the sight of Sean Bean, and then, in a surprise turn of events, turned the DVD off in favour of Ace Ventura. I didn't think I would ever abandon Sean for Jim Carrey. Sadly, Christian Bale's Matrix-style moves were just too much...

Currently (for the last day) listening to Garbage - Garbage. Feeling all nostalgic.
