  1. For those of us who are old, and remember a time when there was a Star Wars roleplaying before the D20 mania, one of the main force powers a Jedi used was meditation, not battle meditation, just plain old meditation. the Jedi would focus themselves and center their ability in the force. The opposing Darkside power was Rage, which I think was potrayed quite well, as Qui-gon focusing himself in quietitude while Maul was rampaging around like a caged animal.
  2. While I understand the rationale behind these string of 'We have unconditional love for you Obisidian! Don't leave us!' threads, we sound like desperate teenagers who keep yelling at a boy/girlfriend because they being unfair to us, and while our ranting may get out of hand, there is a reason (if not an excuse) for it and then when that wanting mate says fine I will leave, we cry and say we are sorry and it was all our fault. Well, I will be disappointed in the forums close. As disappointed as I sat there with jaw hanging open scratching my head in complete bemusement at the end of the game? Probably not. But let's face facts kiddies, everyone working at Obisidian are big boys and girls, and if they think that they are getting unfair critisism or even unusally rampant critisism, then they should consider career changes. The life of a game designer is to pour your heart and soul into a prodict and then have it based for every small defect upon its release. Doubly so when said defects grow beyond such a designation. Closing the forums will in my opinion be a big shot to Obsidian's creditabilty. You may blame, and rightly so, the flaws on other factors, but Obisidian chose to work with said evil publisher on a game they new would have a lot of hype and even a greater expectation than the first one. If the release NWN2 with half the problems that NWN came out with (all annoying, and some will say greater than KOTOR 2) they will have 10x the complaints then they did here. Are they then going to shut down the boards citing time managment issues? EDIT: While I cannot definately identify the species of Obisidian employess, I am pretty sure they are big boys and girls, not bUg boys and girls... *stare*
  3. Wow, this thread is almost as the one that announced the possibilty of a content patch. We are all such whores for this game that we sop up any info and cringe in fright at anything being taking away. While I make it a point to read all of any thread I comment in, I have to admit I skipped over the last 5 pages as very little seemed to be changing in the temprament of the posts, ranging from 'Shut up you whiners look what you did' to 'We love you Obsidian and your game completed my spirtual quest, do not shut the forums despite that fact that since your game was so good I have had little participation in of the threads since I am too busy feeling a state of euphoria to be able to successfully manuplate my keyboars' to 'Oh please, we are sorry for critisizing the obvious and glaring faults in the ending and will never do it again, please don't deprive us of the chance to share our feelings, as long as they are not offensive or overtly critical'. Please people, have some pride. Now perhaps the descision to shut these boards down is a responsible one. These are official Obsidian boards, hence as posters we expect at least some interaction from official Obisidian people. I will be honest, the attention that Bioware has paid to their forums has spoiled me in that respect. If they are unable for reasons beyond their control (as per Ferg's real life situation which he rightly judges more important than these boards, or perhaps they are even tired of being unable to answer complaints/offer suggestions due to contractual agreements and are tired of the feeling of impotence that accompanies that) to answer, then shutting the boards down is a good move. I will say I would be disappointed, if only in that this is the only board where Hades One has not been an insufferable GeekElite and has actually contributed something which I appreciated.
  4. Sorry to disappoint...but that wasn't me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> GASP! Can it be?!
  5. Also of note, if I remember correctly, in the Courthship of Princess Leia the Witches of Darthomir (sp) have purple contusions on their faces from using the dark side of the force, and the female heroine (whose name escapes) starts getting these same blemishes when she uses the force in anger.
  6. In the vein of NWN, for anyone interested, their are two modules that are part of or written as sequeals to the PS:T game by Beerfish, I beleive on is called in the Footsteps of Dante and the other is the Measure of a Man.
  7. OK, I load up my save game on Nars Shadda, and get go to choose my companions to leave the Ebon Hawk. However, I get no picutre of Aton, just a blank spot with the message 'I am broken, so very very broken'. Any thoughts?
  8. This is the same solution that I came to while trotting on Dantooine.
  9. Same problems with Dantooine, I blame those damned flying manta ray like jerks. Was running, no problems, started hickuping there, so I installed the 5.2 drivers, no I have some major wierdness as it opens in a window now and I can't seem to get it to run full screen. As aside, this is a sad state of affairs compared to the release of the original. Not that the original had any less problems, but bioware was at least a presence in the forums and had a patch almost immidiately to deal with the biggest of the nastiness.
