Romance/Friendships and party alignment
LordRaven replied to Smiling Bandit's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It seems to me that when you that no matter what Atton is a given for turning Jedi he is with you the longest and can be influenced by just talking to him a lot of the time. Handmaiden is the same way you never need to take her with you to turn her all you need to do is talk to her about her past and fight with her in sparing missions. The others must go in the field with you. I have been told by others on the board that loss of influence nets same results as influence gain. This is just not true. From what I can tell this is how influence works. Most of your companions are inherently good or maral char to start and if you run around treating people like a jerk most of them will be upset by this. EXAMPLE : small spoiler but not really: There are very few influence oppurtunitys in the game that do not have a side step option ( Meaning LS or DS ramifications ) So if I am a dark side master and want to maintain that staus throughout the game ( which you pretty much must do to complete the game aat that level) and I want to convert BOA DUR to be a dark jedi it is impossible to do and still maintain my dark lord status. -
Well the loot is random and there is no good loot in any of the caches or for that matter in any of the places that you need to blow stuff up to get to items. And if people do not want spoilers why are you posting in the spoiler section.

I don't think there's a teaser at the end. I watched the credits fully and didn't see any trailers. But there's a demo for Republic Commando though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> how do you get the demo for Republic Commando? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You go to options and it is in the options section of the start up screen It is really cool by the way

That's crazy I have never seen him do anything like that

Romance/Friendships and party alignment

I disagree it seems to me it is impossible to get all of your companions to change if you are DS you at least cannot be a DS master to do it. It seems that the only person who you can reverse influence is Atton. Everyone else you need to make LS choices in order to get them to gain influence with you. Once you do that there are not enough oppurtunitty's in the game to get DS points to become a DS master and still have all of the companions be Jedi. I have tried it 3 time now and it seems impossible. -
That's pretty interesting...I thought he couldn't wear any Jedi armor. It doesn't even matter to me, because I never turn him into a Jedi. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Bao turns into Jedi Guardian, he'll lose skill points right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am pretty sure he can not where any thing that a Jedi can wear since in the description it says cannot equip Bao Dur

Also it would not be wierd for something from Kotor to be refrenced in any Star Wars movie/game/comic book/novel/ pantyhose /toilet paper oops sorry started reading from my wifes grocery list for a second there but back to my point. Anything that Lucas puts his name on is considered cannon for the starwars universe which means any video game etc...... All of those char and so on exist in the Star Wars universe like they have been there all along.

It would be cool if you could get revans outfit. I twould have been cool if you could get it in KotOR 1.

How long did it take you?
LordRaven replied to KotOR_rules2004's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It only took me until I left Telos to get mine. I was heavy DS so after I left telos I went right to narshaddaa killed Lortra or whatevr his name is went back to the Ebon Hawk broke visas Lightsaber and then made mine. -
I still do not get why you get hanharr if you are DS it was so dumb. If you were going to do something like that it should have been a completly diffrent cast that you pick up if you are DS

The War ax is a horrible weapon

Yeah Hard is no joke it is not insanley hard but is a challange. But let's face it. This is a roleplaying game. It plays like an action game sometimes but it is a turn based fighting D@) system if your Char is a beast on paper he will be a beast in the game. I play a gurps Star Wars game and if My char progressed as quickly from EXP in that it would be hard for the storyteller to not have us fighting major baddies the whole time. It is a video game that is supposed to take you about 50hrs to play tops. Enjoy! It is still really fun and the story is cool too. That's why all of us dorks forsdake any type of social life or meaningful relationships to play through the thing three time in a row. And then we come and talk about it on this board. " While we should be working "
-
I use the first 3 letters of my lastname then first name for the first name. Then the remainder for the last. Me and a couple of friends do a SW gurps game and we named all of or Char in this way and the results were very star wars esk. Baizak Kley  From Zakk Bailey

LordRaven replied to KotorianRuler's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I see no reason to doubt that a 3 will be out. The franchise is very sucessful and I am sure they will continue to capitalize off of that sucess. It is just makes sense from a money making standpoint. We all know GL is about the dollar dollar$$$$$$ -
who has chosen a different prestige class?
LordRaven replied to Darth Gizka's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I agree that is the same setup I go with. -
Where do you set your STR?
LordRaven replied to Obireel Y Doncha's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah I never usually worry about strength if I have any left over points after buying wisdom etc I will dump it in strength. -
I agree Malak was the hardest. He was harder though depending on the type of PC you were. Soldier/Guarding not so bad Scoundral/Counsular Real Bad <{POST_SNAPBACK}> PS also spelling appears to be the toughest boss I am facing right now.

Now with certin scenerios. Like on dantooine when you are gaining/losing influence with Boa Dur. The part with the sensor that you find in the cave do I still need to let him check it out or do I not let him check it out to get the desired DS influence effect and the same with selling the sensor back to that guy by the speeders.

Cool then I can be as much of a jerk as I want to be.
-
So losing influence is the same as gaining influence?
-
Okay I have been all over the site looking for an answer to this question but was not able to find one so I am starting this post. When trying to make Atton, Bao Dur, Handmaiden, and Mira Jedi. Is it possible to train them if you take every darkside path? I have played through the game 3 times all as a LS char. Play through 1 was just not knowing anything about the new nuances of the influence and training system. Play through 2 I only turned Atton and Handmaiden as Jedi again as LS, and playthrough 3 I was able to train Atton, Bao Dur, Handmaiden, and Mira as Jedi again as LS. Now what I tried to do was after beating the third game, I started my fourth try from where I trained the last of my companions but then tried taking the dark path because I wanted to turn everyone dark and get a DS ending without having to do all the work again. The only problem with this was that by the time I trained all the companions I was already well through most of the major points of the game and by Malachor 5 I was only able to achive a grey alinment with myself and my companions. So back to my question. Is it possible to be DS and make all DS decisions and still train all companions to be Jedi. Or is it that the only way to train them is to be LS which would be really lame. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

f***ing random loot generator makes it impossible to know where anything is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually there are certain points in the game where you get the same items over and over again. You are guaranteed to find Orange in one of the footlockers in the Sith Academy on Korriban and you are guaranteed to find Viridian in the Onderon Museum (where you get your Ossus Keeper Robe). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The veridian one can be found in the museum of the onderon palace. You can steal it or complete the quest bit and the queen will give it to you.

Evryone needs to let go of the stereotypes. Why's a darkside brotha got's to have a Red Lightsaber.
