  1. I see today that now Marc Savard and Sergei Gonchar are going to be on the shelf for the next four to six weeks. I'm not sure if I can remember a season where so many bigger named players all went down for more than a week or two in October.
  2. The Alarm - The Stand This song has one of my favorite chants/ choruses of all time. come on down, and meet your maker come on down, and make the stand come on down, come on down come on down, we'll make the stand
  3. ^i want to see that
  4. Dustin Penner has been impressive so far this year.
  5. You ship that sexbox off to microsoftland for repairs yet? Modern Warfare 2 is less than a month away!

    meatshield for hire!

  6. Haha, that's like November to February!!!
  7. And that was Edmontons first snowfall over the weekend, right? There's usually tons of drivers that need to realize they need more time to do anything when they drive in the winter. After the first few week of it everyone seems to adjust, for the most part. I like your optimism, Alan. In my experience, dealing with insurance companies sucks. And is probably supposed to be sucky in nature to begin with. Just be glad that you weren't injured, and that the accident didn't happen in the parking lot. Alberta law states that accidents in lots are 50-50, no matter who is to blame. I think.
  8. Oldboy. Interesting, but really ****ed up. Adventureland. The lead does a better Micheal Cera impersonation than Micheal Cera.
  9. I don't have a clue, but how about that monumental collapse by Calgary last night? They squandered a five goal lead!
  10. I've never been that much of a fan of Zak Stortini, but tonight he really brought it. I don't want to use the word 'lucky' on his first goal. Lets just say the penalty killers may have made a little lapse leaving him completely open instead. But that second goal was pure guts and a fair bit of skill. Nice hustle, Huggy Bear! That was also the first time in a few years I can remember the Oilers beating Nashville in their barn. I'm liking Pat Quinn and his system so far. The players sure seem to be buying into it.
  11. Zombieland. Bill Murray has a great cameo. Kind of silly, kind of fun.
  12. Awesome! Edmonton managed to protect its one goal lead over the Habs tonight!
  13. You did read the part where it said they slashed each other in the back of the leg, right? How's that going to break someone's arm?
  14. I'm glad i have he, Thornton and Dan Boyle in my hockey pool.
  15. From the view I saw, it looked to me like it banked off his pad. And another weird goal that goes in off an Oiler defender. Again, I'm hoping they get this crap luck out of the way early.
  16. Heatley is +4 tonight against Columbus. And another tough night for the Oilers. Souray gets hurt, and they lose to Calgary with 1.5 seconds left! On the plus side, Edmontons top line finally got on the scoreboard. edit: Zoiks, make that +5!!
  17. Guess Heatley IS going to watch 20+ goals go in this year... I didn't think it would be by Thanksgiving, though.
  18. I've yet to see a Sharks game, how's Danny Heatley been playing? From what I've read, the Oilers seemed to pick up their first win of the season in sloppy fashion. But two points are still two points, even if Dallas gets one.
  19. The Poughkeepsie Tapes. I saw a trailer for this some time back and thought it could be quite frightening. Turns out, no, notsomuch. Bigger, Stronger, Faster. This one was a better choice. And GIJoe: The Rise Of Cobra. Not as horrible as I'd heard/expected. Take it for what it is, and it's tolerable.
  20. Tough loss for Edmonton tonight. Khabibulin misplayed the puck in the last minute of play for the game winner. I'm not going to complain, though. The Oilers played a hard, physical game. A few bad plays shouldn't take away from a great effort, especially for a team that looked so completely lost in the previous season. I'm somewhat impressed with the heart shown by more than a few dudes on the roster, like Dustin Penner and Sam Gagner.
  21. I think two more teams from that top grouping in the East played tonight. Carolina may be the long shot out of the four, but the Flyers looked ready for the season. Did I read right that Thomas Vokoun had 52 saves in Florida's victory over the 'Hawks? And it's good to see Adam Oates back in the league!
  22. I just picked up my old 360 from the courier company. Hey, does anyone want to buy a refurbished 360?
  23. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Oilers this season. Sure, the only big name we added was 'Bulin, but there's going to have to be a lot better effort from the entire team (not including Souray and Visnosvky) if they have any hopes of making the playoffs. Either way I'll still be rooting for them Saturday when they open the season against the Flamers. G'Oilers!!
  24. So according to the TSN article, he rejected both bids, but Basilles offer was turned down 'with prejudice'. And you're right, Volo, the NHL is still in the game to buy the team. If they come up with a better offer that pays off more creditors.
  25. Lol, I just read the judge residing over the Basille/ Coyotes deal ruled neither he nor the NHL should be allowed to buy the team.
