NHL is back
I can't wait for Big Bert to try to camp out in front of our net. First, Pronger is gonna whack his ankles with his stick. Then Bert will turn around and shove him. After that Bertuzzi will still be trying to screen the goalie, except Pronger will be there cross checking him in the back. Oh the goodness...

Unfortunately we only have two radio stations in our town. Country and top 40 crap. Eight matches between the two teams this season. Plus eight against the Canucks. It's going to be a really heated three way rivalry this year. Add the Avs to the list, and I can see the Northwest division being the most competitive out of them all. Don't forget, there was a lot of bad blood when the 'Nucks would come to town and spank our team, so I'm sure the Oil are looking for payback.

No Alanschu, I'm not residing in Sask. I am a born and bred Albertan. Actually I reside in the town that thinks its a city, Grande Prairie. I'm up north from you. And the hockey buzz is all over the province, man! Today at work my friend and I spent time planning out our hockey pool, and then tried to make playoff predictions. You're right though, this is one season where you can't say that team X is guaranteed a playoff spot, unlike the past few years.

NHL is back
And don't forget a career year for Fernando Pisani!! I tihnk tampa just sealed their own fate. Sean Burke is way too injury prone to carry a team to the cup. Maybe the tandem with John Grahame will pay off, but neither of them is really a solid number one.

Flipping Out like a Ninja
For those who can't get into the site, I saw that clip a few months ago at Wimp.com. I don't remember the name of the video, so you'll have to find that yourself.

NHL is back
From what I understand, Eldar, is that Steve Moore is still in the recovery phase. His broken vertebrae are healed, but he still is not able to work out to the level he used to. And he still suffers the effects of his concussion, with the headaches and such. And the Oilers resigned Marty Reasoner. I guess that shores up the centre position for the team. And Philly keeps signing people, amazing...

The Outdoor Life channel? That doesn't make a lot of sense. There's always pond hockey, I guess. But if it means more TV exposure , the NHL should go for it. The deal with NBC is pretty lame anyhow. Maybe Gary is onto something? I see Bob Clarke is still keeping busy. It's great that the Flyers have a giant defence, but Robert Esche might be the weak link in goal.

Thats a great pic of Malak, julianw!! It looks like he wants to behead someone. Badly. I tried another Visas pic tonight while the Cubs took another spanking but ended up throwing my sketchbook across the room. Maybe I should just stick to drawing Kreia.

I hate to disagree with you, Alanschu, but as much as I am a Bertuzzi supporter I still think he should have suspended for what he did, irreguardless of whether or not Moore was injured. I someone turns away from you and doesn't want to fight, just call him a **** and slash him on the back of his knee. He shouldn't have clubbed him from behind like that. Of course I also still think the dogpile afterwards is what broke his neck...

NHL is back
I can see how people could still be pissed at Big Bert for his actions against Colorado. Me myself, I think he has paid his penance. But then again I cheer for the Canucks quite a bit ( unless they play the Oilers , of course), so I am probabaly a little biased. I'm hoping all parties involved can move forward and let this be a reminder that hockey, while a professional sport, is still a game. Enough players are hurt during the course of a season without people injuring others intentionally. And the bit about Messier retiring was in the Sunday Sun if you can grab a hold of one, Alanschu. It said that the Moose is telling people he is retired and just hasn't made an official announcement. I would still prefer to see Peca as the top line center. Horcoff is good, and getting better, but I don't see him as a no.1 line kind of guy just yet. And if Hemsky scores more than five goals in the preseason, he should get top line status, but otherwise he should be a second line kind of guy. I would put Dvorak in place of Hemsky. And I read that NHL 2006 should be shipping sept.13 in North America. And the product review says it features the return of the create a player, which is cool, because I like to lead the league in goal scoring even though I am a defenceman...

That was a nice song, Mkreku. Thanks, I probably never would have heard that if not for your linky. It reminds me a little of Jewel. So far today I've been listening to: Lou Reed: Romeo had Juliet Teenage Fanclub: Alcoholiday The Replacements: I'll be you and today I read that the Pixies are putting out a live dvd in the first week of September. It is titled 'the pixies sell out'

The entire Western conference looks like a tough place to earn two points in. I can't/won't pick a winner until the puck drops on October the fifth, and even then I reserve the right to change my mind. And to me, Gretzky going behind the bench is nothing more than an attempt to sell season tickets. Lets face it, hockey is in rough shape in Arizona. I can't remember the last time a game was sold out in Phoenix, can anyone else?

Who knows, maybe GFjr. will dig Robert Reichel out of the mothballs. I'm not envious of anyone who is a Leaf fan this year ( sorry Mkreku). And they really look to be in a rough spot, being so close to the cap and all. It looks like they are going to have to trade someone to bring lesser priced players. But by that same point, most of the players under contract in TO are so pricey that I'm not too sure if anyone wants to trade for a Bryan McCabe or Ed Belfour. All I can say is good luck, Mkreku, cos your team is gonna need it.

Crowded House- Italian Plastic when you wake up with me, I'll be your glass of water, uh huh Therapy- Screamager And sorry Darth Drabek, I have no clue as to why Chuck D wore a Pirates hat all the time. My guess would be that he really wanted to be a pirate, with all the raping and pillaging as such...

I can't help with the anatomy bit, but you should try PMing Kaftan Barlast. He seems to be the resident photoshop ace on the boards. He talks about tablets as well sometimes but I don't really have a clue myself.

Didn't Forsberg build a rink in his hometown or something like that? And on an unrelated note, someone at work was telling me that Tie Domi had a bit of a run-in with former Toronto Gm Bill Watters. Words were said, people got mad and Domi walked out of an interview. Does anyone have any info on this? I can't seem to find any online.

No Kaftan, but sometimes teams pay people who play like ordinary folks. And really big money.

NHL is back
In the Edmonton Sun this morning they talk about Messier resigning with the Oilers. Or not. From the sound of the article, it appears the Mighty Moose has decided to call it quits... And Volourn, Pavel Bure is done like yesterdays dinner. His knees are shot. He couldn't pass the physical to play in 03/04. I don't think that anyone really expects Lindros to put up fifty points. Thirty five to forty , I think would be a solid return. Maybe the year off has helped. You just can't tell for sure until he puts his head down and tries to skate over the blue line...
