Horcoff made the top five with his 103 points. Peca was like 35th. I placed 81 this season. Next year I want to put up Bobby Orr like numbers, but I'd settle for Coffeys instead.
I like Pavement as well. My favorite song has to be Summer Babe (winter Version). I watched them live once. Interesting band. I made eye contact with the bass player for about half a minute.
I played the first few games on easy to get the rust out. After that I've been playing at the medium difficulty. I win most of my games, but still get spanked every few matches. **** you Toronto and New Jersey. Sorry for the venting.
I think my highest scoring game was like a 10-5 romp over Calgary in the first round of my current playoffs. You should watch out for March, Alan. Its arguably one of the tougher months in the schedule. I barely reached .500. With a four game losing streak with back to back losses against the Canucks sandwiched in between.
I simmed about ten or so games. I've been on holidays since Friday, so its left me a lot of time for hockey. When I do sim games I find I don't get any points.
Pronger had five, MAB had 3. Smith and Staios each had one. Ully and Semenov didn't find the twine at all. I should add a fair bit of my goals were empty netters. Although I did score two in a game back to back by skating behind a crowd in front of the net. It totally reminded me of the old days of NHL2000.
600 posts!
Those are decent. Salmeliman had two really good games when I put him on my top line while he had a hot streak. I've been trying to give everybody some ice time so the next season doesn't have a huge retrograde in their ratings. Except for my rearguards.
Here's what mine look like:
Smyth-Horcoff-Hemsky
Torres-Peca-Dvorak
the RPM line
fourth line left wing duties rotate then Stoll and Laraque
Pronger-Myself
Bergeron-Ulanov/Semenov
Smith-Staios
Horcoff ended up finishing as the top scorer, with 43-59/102. Peca hit 80 points while only missing 3 games with the flu. I of course ruled the d with 13-44/57. I am a terrible puck hog.
So Alanschu I assume you are using the Oilers. What are your lines like? Do you even bother to do dress Cory Cross? In my sim I traded him to St.Louis for Matt Walker, because he's half the salary. And he's from Beaverlodge, which is only about half an hour from my place.
I just finished the series and the bonus disk. The Jimmy Kimmel was very good, like Ender says. Kimmel interviewing Matthew Fox was the highpoint for me.
And after watching the entire run I think Ender made some valid points about Locke and Ethan. But now I think that the French Woman was Ethans accompice during the Claire abduction. I think perhaps Locke was distracting Jack as part of his whole 'destiny of the island' thing.
And who would have thought that
?
They had Scott Stevens' top 10 hits on TSN the other day. Ron Francis took a hurting and couldn't get up. As an old school Whaler fan I'm sad to see him go.
I like the hip checks as well. Although for some strange reason the ref likes to call those as 'tripping' against my team sometimes. MAB must be sleeping with the game designers. Fast as the wind and he can also take out Bertuzzi(?) with a big check. I just wish he had more than 3 goals on the season...
Tell me Mkreku, do you still have Ron Francis in your roster? If so how is he? I creamed him on the boards a few times during a loss to the Leafs but he still lit the lamp twice.
And howcome its virtually impossible to shake Mark Messier off the puck? I have been playing Igor Ulanov a lot in my sim season, and there isn't anyone he can't mow down. Except for the moose. Go figure. Bertuzzi goes down like a stack of pancakes but a 44 year old man burns me every time.
Peca and Reasoner on the PK is the bomb. Have you noticed that they made Georges Laraque an ironing board with skates? Talk about slow.
My last few games have been a real exercise in comeback wins. I go down 3-0 in the first period, then my team snoozes until the third period. If thats not Oiler hockey, I don't know what is...
I'm getting the hang of playing defence. Only one powerplay goal has passed through my crease in the last eighteen chances.
And what is up with the eastern teams? I was just spanked by Toronto! Toronto!
I, for one, would like to tip my hat to one of the greatest hockey players of our generation. Thanks for the memories, Mark Messier.
Who is left to retire? I haven't heard anything about Ron Francis lately.
