NHL 06 or NHL2k6?
I'm getting the hang of playing defence. Only one powerplay goal has passed through my crease in the last eighteen chances. And what is up with the eastern teams? I was just spanked by Toronto! Toronto!

I, for one, would like to tip my hat to one of the greatest hockey players of our generation. Thanks for the memories, Mark Messier. Who is left to retire? I haven't heard anything about Ron Francis lately.

NHL 06 or NHL2k6?
I was just violated by Boston 5-1. But i came back to have Mike Peca score the winna in overtime against the NYI. My character d man is second in scoring for his position. I find a lot of my games are high scoring as well. Most of my goals are coming as a result of one timers, but I'm getting a lot better at spinning around from the side of the net and scoring high after faking to get the goalie to commit low. A break is needed for me from this game, because my thumbs and wrists are getting mighty sore. And I can't see myself trying the hard level anytime soon. Most of the games I've played have been pretty close.

NHL 06 or NHL2k6?
I'm winless in my last three games, losing 6-4. 4-2 and 4-3 in overtime. But I'm having a great time doing so. I also scored a hat trick with Michael Peca ( it included a shorty too!).

NHL 06 or NHL2k6?
I've been playing 2006 for about six hours now. Some of the new moves are pretty cool of you can actually get a little bit of room to use them. So far, my created player has 2G 4A in nine games. I just bagged an empty netter to seal the win against the Flames. Good Stuff!! Graphically its alright, some of the player faces are pretty accurate. And I still have no clue about the open ice controls.

The Movie thread
I enjoyed Fight Club quite a bit. It does have some pacing issues but there isn't really a perfect movie out there, so what can you do? Lately I've been watching a lot of war movies, from Platoon to Kelly's Heroes to Heartbreak Ridge. I'm thinking about picking up Saving Private Ryan, but I might lean towards Apocalypse Now. Sometimes I find SPR creeps me out with those battle scenes.

NHL 06 or NHL2k6?
Most of the stores in Canada that I've seen advertising the game actually have the price reduced this year. At Future Shop 06 is going for 29.99 if you preorder over the internet. Thanks for the reviews.

And don't forget nothing has been confirmed with Kovalchuk yet either. The source is unreliable at best. I just read at TSN.com that Al MacInnis has decided to hang up his skates as well. Goalies and shot blocking forwards are breathing a sigh of relief. Does that make Eric Brewer the no.1 D man in St.Louis?

I remember that game. Other Kovalchuk highlights include his hairpulling match with Mike Comrie and of course, Ilyas acne.

I feel the same about Dougie. He was the last player for the Oilers who could say ' I'm changing the tide of this game right now, and I'll do it myself if I have to!' and back it up on a semiconsistant basis. Please don't admonish me Alanschu but I've been digging through Sportsnets Oiler forums and have been reading nasty things about the Doug Weight deal. Like how Kevin Lowe never even made him an offer to turn down. How much is true, who knows? I take it with a grain of salt but its still interesting. And don't get me started on the Tommy Salo/Mike Comrie feud...

Oh yeah, Guerin and his whopping contract still belong to the Stars.

The same with my club card savings. Lets hope Tony Amonte remembers how to skate.

So where are you from DT? And more importantly, how much is gas in your town? To keep this on topic, both Bill Guerin and Jason Smith were members of the 1995 Jersey team that won the cup. Smith did not play in the playoffs that year and only suited for the club twice during the regular season.
