  1. I think folks should just have to come up with something different. Although if someone, saaaayyyyy Fionavar, wanted to be Oenophile, I'd change mine to Wino of the order so he could take it.
  2. I really have to say, once again, that this is an awesome idea. Farudan, or whoever thought of it, deserves some real Obsidz luuuurve.
  3. Okay, I'd like to be the Oenophile of the Obsidian Order. I really like the ring of it and I certainly consume enough wine.
  4. Loma Linda California, USA right now. Las Vegas Nevada born and bred
  5. This is such an excellent idea to get the community cough up cash for the project. I just can't see spending more. I'll probably add another thirty-five bucks today, but that will be as a gift for someone else. That will bring my total up way higher than I can reasonably explain. ...But I'll definitely lift up a glass to the Order and feast them wherever and whenever we meet!
  6. I don't want it to be like DA:O at all in terms of the dungeons. I want a living, vibrant cavernous area with it's own ecosystem and everything else attendant to such an area. I'd like it as a stretch goal if the devs think it would really add to the game.
  7. To understand evil options in dialogue, all you have to do is be married for ten or twenty years. You'll be writing that dialogue from both perspectives no problem.
  8. Good job, you glorious bastard! I hope it leads to some good funding for the project!
  9. I never play evil characters if I have the choice. However, i was forced to do so in MotB and I have to say that good dialogue can make evil characters quite entertining. I think there are nuances and subtleies in human interaction that make evil options interesting, but the team must be dedicated to the dialouge and they must. not. thow. good. options. under. the. bus. They have to be as dedicated to providing intelligent good options as they are of providing intelligent evil ones.
  10. The problem that I see is a shadow game, where there's such a large dungeon complex that goes to the same areas and one overland which does the same things. I woulnd't want to see the devs committ so many resournces to two different areas that serve the same purpose only to find that half the players go one way and half go the other. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome to hav the replayabilty, but the time and effort would be a shame to waste on something that, by definition, half of the first time players would never see. IF they can do it so that folks see a significant part of both, that coudl be good.
  11. I wouldn't mind that system, aluminum, but the devs would have to be careful to make sure the answers wouldn't be sufficiently reasonable in order to let the player know what the outcome might be.
  12. I'd like a dungeon and I think it would add to the game. I trust that Obsidz qouldn't do it unless it would work well.
  13. No, nothing random. Anyhow, Sawyer is too much of a balance hound to allow it. He's enslaved to the gods of balance.
  14. No, that was definitely my favorite experience from BG1. In fact, that's really what made the game for me. I prefered it to the main story line. That and it gave my sneaky assed theief something to do.
  15. I liked the one... what was it...? White Plume Mountain where you found the spaceship and lasers? Geez, I have it somewhere around here.
  16. Okay, in this one case I can agree with you, you dirt grubbing ground pounding army puke. Maybe it's just the vino talkin', but I would like at least one mega-dungeon. NO, I don't want the whole game to be shaft crawling (get your mind out of the gutter), but one really *big* complex would be sweet.
  17. You neglect charisma and personality to your own detriment. EDIT: Sorry, I mean in PS:T.
  18. We'd probably get used to it. In many ways modern civilization outclasses the ancient gods, and most of us aren't being driven mad. In the case of those beings being human, someone would probably get funding to find out how they did that. I don't think it follows. Humanity managed to internalize superiority between people either by gaining an understanding of the workings of the universe or by being displaced or conquered by other people. During all that time, even in ancient times, there were atheists who made more or less the same arguments that atheists make today. I'm not putting down those arguments. Some of them are quite convincing, just ask Dostoevsky. I'm just saying that it would be different if there were mutable laws that could never be explained except by divine power. EDIT: Sadly, a bit lubricated right now, so I'll have to think about it tonight to see if that all makes sense tomorrow.
  19. Ya know, Monte, you Brit Bastard, I'm going to nuke your mage hunting ass with a lightning bolt if I ever see you. I will do so religiously. EDIT: What will you do if *every* class uses soul magic? hehe
  20. Actually, there are some people, not many but some, who will play with suboptimal stats just for the challeng and/or bragging rights.
  21. Actually, I'm always interested in Greek mythology and I am a Christian. On the other hand, there's a lot to debate in both examples, but neither one answers the question about atheism in a world with overt Gods. It's truly impossible to say what would happen if humanity were faced with beings who transcended normal physical laws, even if it were simply other humans.
  22. Yep, same here, Sen. I actually think Lionheart was a great idea that the design team kind of butchered. I was a mod at Interplay during development and folks went gonzo over it before and after release.
  23. Bad... just baaad! lol You can't have the Rhythm and Blues without no Soul. I like the soul based magic, but I will still miss that ol' black magic I used to do so well.
  24. You might be, but this is a new project and you've probably bought into the kickstarter and so you feel like you have a personal stake in it. It makes sense to be excited.
