  1. Ender said we're all 9th generation. I've got my character created. I'm just waiting to see how Ender wants it sent.
  2. To be fair, Ender has called Epiphany a liar. That's a term that should be reserved for something concrete. Most of what I've seen from both are arguments that don't really reside in the realm of "lies" or "truths." To make it worse, it's clear that we're dealing with partisans. I don't believe that mkreku, Epiphany, or Ender are lying about anything. I'm sure, however, that they're far too close to the issue to escape bias. Nevertheless, if we can keep from flame-mongering, I'm positive we'll end up with a great, if heated, discussion.
  3. Thank you, my numbered friend.
  4. Am I right in thinking there are no free points to give disciplines. That is, we only get dots by spending freebie points?
  5. Well, I searched for a quick reference of what the abilities meant. After managing to get through the mislabeled porn links, I found one which helped me at least. You might find it useful. http://www.augias.org/vtm/ability.htm
  6. Thanks, Anakin. That's how it looked to me also, but I wasn't sure.
  7. Okay, someone needs to explain this to me. I start with one dot in all my attributes, one dot in all three virtues, three dots to spend on attributes, and then fifty freebies? Is that right? Because the info in your first link, Ender, says somthing about 7 for primary, 5 for secondary, and 3 for tertiary. Now, how does that realate to my 50 freebies?
  8. The funny thing about living someplace is that you tend to learn a lot about those areas you go. I haven't been down on the strip for a long time. Like a lot of locals, I don't go there unless it's necessary. For that reason, I'm not going to second guess any cool themes you might have in mind. For all I know, they've changed it. Second of all, Vegas is a high profile city with a conspicuous night life. It's the perfect place for a vampire because the city is often busier at night than in the day. It's got a lot of glitz, but it's got some ugly areas of town also, and there are casinos everywhere. You can have more upscale areas like... umm... The District in Henderson and seedy areas like New Town. New Town is literally like you see in some films. Gun fights, murders, prostitution, etc. I've had the joy of visiting the place while on a ridiculous ride along. (My brother is a seargent in the Las Vegas Metro, and so I finally gave in and went on a ride along.) Anyhow, it gives variety. Finally, the desert is simply beautiful. I hav to admit that it's probably not as beautiful to some poor bastard who's stuck indoors all day, but the mountains and the basin make for wonderful sun rises and sunsets. Ender, I'm really looking forward to playing in a Vegas setting. I've lived all over the place, but Vegas has grown on me over the years. This is going to be soooo cool. ...And I managed to get another player for my local DnD group today. Woo Hoo!!! My PnP experience has taken a turn for the better recently.
  9. Apparently it's grown about 600% in the last 5-10 years, so it might look a bit different now ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I spend almost a third of every year in Las Vegas. The vast majority of my family lives there. Personally, though, I hate the strip. It'd probably be cool if I were a vampire, but it's just not the place for a good Catholic boy like me.
  10. I was born in Las Vegas in real life. Does that give me an advantage? Hey, I know the locations in Vegas rather well. That can't hurt me. I promise not to argue with the GM regarding stuff like location, though.
  11. Actually, that's a valid point for me. I use my current xbox more as media center and less for gaming. What hurt PS2 last time around might be what hurts xbox in the next generation.
  12. Likewise, I'll create a character and send it to you, Ender. Be a good fellow and let me know if I make any stupid mistakes I can fix. In DnD, you can screw yourself something fierce in the long haul by making bad decisions up front.
  13. Does that article answer the age old question: "why is it that Ghandi, who is supposed to love peace, always meets my civilization, demands 50 gold, and declares war... not necessarily in that order?"
  14. Give alan a break, you dog. At least he made an attempt! That's a sight better than the rest of us message board cowboys.
  15. Maybe some of you braniacs can come up with detailed examples! I am not a braniac, and therefore cannot give either detail or example.
  16. At least for the purposes of this discussion. You're an erudite fellow. Take a shot at a working definition. Just remember to duck.
  17. We still haven't defined story and you want gameplay? :D
  18. You know, Leningrad was a great level and the latter half of the expansion was quite good. I'd suggest it if you can get a reasonable price. You should have fun. I agree with SoE, the orphanage is spooky, but the early expansion didn't appeal to me as much as the last half.
  19. I'm trying to figure out why you deleted your post up above. Dammit?! Revenge, methinks! :D
  20. Well, if HoMM V is any good, maybe they'll produce a M&M X.
  21. Actually, in terms of support by purchasing their titles, I'm one of the biggest Troika fans out there. I waited a bit to buy Bloodlines. I bought Arcanum and ToEE right away. I even liked them. My biggest beef wasn't really bugs so much as attitude. The whole thing with Identify was just ridiculous. I still don't know whether that was a bug or a design decision. Apparently, neither do they.
  22. I thought everything meta posted was both bickering and spam. hahahaha
  23. meta, you doofus.
  24. Moreover, I can skip the first game and sit in on the sessions. I would be happy to be a non-participant observer for the campaign and, should a slot become available, I'd join in the actual play.
