You know it's bad around here when one of the most active threads in the place revolves around someone else's forum.

Good Lord! Anyhow, a magazine is quite nice. It's not like I can haul my computer into the bed and read these things before I sleep. On the other hand, I just can't see having all that around the house. I've got a bunch of old dnd books. Maybe I should ebay some of it. Anyone remember the old dnd boxed set? The one with the faint bluish tinge and a human fighting a dragon? For you youngsters, it came out BEFORE the red basic set. I still have that, although I don't nearly as much stuff as Sawyer does. I wouldn't know where to put it.

Question from fans -- How well did NWN2 end up selling?

Pidesco and I are trying to get this straight right now. I'm on xfire with him right now trying to get things straight.

My xfire name is xieu. Feel free to chat anytime, but sometimes I'm away, so don't think I'm ignoring you.

I use xfire all the time for voice chat. It works quite well.

I doubt I can have a server up and running by tomorrow, but I think the interested parties should get on xfire, ts, or ventrilo. As for the server, I'll look into it tomorrow. I'm sure I can set up a server, but it's another one of those things where I don't want to promise a lot of time. What I CAN do is make it available at various hours to let folks play. That should give you time to come up with a permanent solution.

I think I'll get a nice 42" TV. I've really had to juggle the difference in my mind between the monitor, tv, and xbox 360. I don't want a tv unless I'll use the xbox 360 a lot. However, my current xbox is also my dvd player. I'd like to get the tv/xbox 360 so I have a better dvd player, which means waiting until the hddvd is included in the xbox 360 bundle. I'm kind of at a loss because I don't want to get a monitor until I know whether I want an lcd or a crt. I'm leaning crt right now, but I don't want to rush. Meanwhile, I can get a plasma tv, but I'm leery of putting money into something that gets used for dvds and xbox games. I pretty much use Itunes for my songs these days, so I don't really care about my stuff on the xbox like I did in the past. Of course, if the xbox 360 lets me put my itunes on it and play them through my home theater system, the that might do the trick.

This was a lot of fun. Aredne was quite the little defender tonight. DON'T make fun of her outfit. It's silly to run around in underwear, but it's the best protection/spell buff clothing I have. Rat Bastard Blizzard.

xfire is much better. Even if folks can't voice chat, at least the chat chat is in realtime.

Yes, I went and wiped the floor with a level 67 tauren with my level 61 mage. Twice. Next time you think about causing mayhem in Loch Modan, make sure I don't have a friend on xfire telling me you're there! hahahaha

I've been thinking I'd create a module. I'm going to print out the cursed tutorials tomorrow and start researching. If I can figure out how to create a server in the interim, I'll do so and then leave it running on one of the computers. One thing you'll definitely need is voice chat. Typing stuff is a real pain. At least for me while I play and I type pretty fast.

I just thought this might add a little levity to the discussion. I was guffawing. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18237342/?GT1=9246 -

Of course it is. I don't suggest that the culture cannot change. I'm saying the culture has not, as yet, changed. In fact, incidents like the ones this week probably usher in such changes, although it's quite a bit easier to buy alcohol and cigarettes in the United States than it is to buy a gun and they have both proved to be quite deadly over time. -
WAR What is it GOOD FOR absolutely NOTHIN' say it AGAIN! That's a good Vietnam era song.

Don't turn into a lush, young man. ...Or you'll be like Walsh. That oughta scare you straight.

Heaven knows Gromnir can be a pit bull when it comes to this stuff. However, it really does undermine your point when you make a quote to defend your position and cite the wrong work. ...And it's ridiculous to think that your sparring partner won't make an issue out of it. For my part, I thought Gorgon made an error, but it was an honest mistake. I also understand that much of his underlying argument, and his best arguments altogether, really don't revolve around the constitution. At heart, he's making arguments against current US gun laws. That's fair enough. Like it or not, however, there is not yet enough of a movement to ban guns in the US. Maybe that will change with the recent shootings. Only time will tell. My position on firearms is this, I don't like them. I don't participate in the 'gun culture' that prizes firearms for their own instrinsic beauty or value. I don't attend gun shows and last fired a weapon some fifteen years ago. Maybe more. ...But I'm leery of giving up my right to bear arms. Personal rights sometimes come at the expense of personal safety. This is fitting. ...Because personal rights are the point of a democracy, not personal safety. In fact, why not ban speech or religion? I would actually feel guilty making that comparison if :Cant's avoiding an angry Eldar moment and toning down his rhetoric icon: only others had not cleverly associated gun ownership with slavery. Essentially, I think Aram is right. The right to bear arms, no matter what opinions foreigners might declare regarding our constitution, is part of the American psyche. The best that you can hope is that advocates of outright banning can take advantage of the recent tragedies to push their agenda. That's the idealistic argument. The practical reason we can't ban guns is because they're already there. Do we go house to house to search for the weapons that people already have? Would it then be a crime to possess something that's been in your family for generations? Some weapons are prized for their craftmanship and appearance. Do we insist that the owners disable them? ...And who will check? Banning guns will return us to the halcyon days of prohibition? Prohibiting guns would not end any better and perhaps even worse. -
Happy Birthday, Calax! Send me some cake.

If the constitution is a story of hypocrisy, then it is certainly a story later authors can amend. I'm not going to speak for Gromnir, as he can certainly speak for himself, but I will speak for the constitution. Let's take for granted that the constitution was all about hypocrisy and that it was flawed from the very beginning. mkreku wrongfully states that the constitution is too old and outdated to serve as the basis for law. The obvious answer is that the constitution can always be updated. It's just not easy to do so. We should be glad that it is not easy to amend the constitution. As for the compromise, you say that liberty used to apply exclusively to male white landowners? You say that illustrates some sort of point about hypocrisy? Indeed, I say it illustrates the fact that we have a living and vibrant constitution that, when the great mass of people exert itself, can be changed. Sometimes, those changes do not provide the outcome the great mass of people desired, at which point the constitution can be changed again. Not easily, though. Women don't get the vote one year and have it taken away the next. Hypocrisy? I love how small minds use the word compromise as if it is the utmost profanity. All things in government are compromise. In totalitarian governments, there is always a compromise between desire and resources. How far can the head of state go without eroding his own power and losing support that everyone, even the head of state in a totalitarian government needs? In democracies, compromise is not important. It's vital. Some of the compromises are certainly unsavory. That is also part of government. Finally, you say that the story of the American constitution starts in hypocrisy and ends in the logical conclusion. As I've already stated, the American constitution has not ended. It can be changed, either way, on any issue. It is not immutable. Even if you contend that the outcome is good but the beginning if flawed, you must understand, no matter how petty your desire to pour vitriol on the US Constitution, that we require a beginning to reach an end. I'll definitely go with Grim Fandango and PS:T. Blizzard is famed for its cinematics, which is a distinction they have earned. Blizzard cut-scenes and intro are truly excellent.

Some of my favorite sit-coms depict white people as physically inept and entirely lacking in street smarts. My point is that folks raise neither a hure nor cry when tv does something far more insulting, such as portraying white men as sexually inferior. I think, where this program depicts semitic people as terrorists, it is contemptible. Otherwise, it is merely sadly unfunny. I doubt I would laugh at it. I don't tend to laugh at racial based comedy, politically correct (such as the underlying suggestion that white men are physically inferior eunuchs) or politically incorrect (implying that arab immigrants are terrorists).

Is it just me, or does this sort of thing seem to happen to Valve a lot?
