  1. All joking aside, this cartoon is in poor taste. I just wonder how many folks would be up in arms if it were a white man depicted as physically inferior. ...Or under-endowed. The shorts seem ridiculously stupid to me, but the responses here are decidedly one sided. What a surprise.
  2. Thanks for the input. I'm definitely going to buy an HDTV. I just need to make sure I get the best one I can. Something under a thousand dollars sounds good. (okay. okay. maybe a PINCH over a thousand if push comes to shove.)
  3. I only have time for one board. Plus, going after folks with fire and tongs gives me heartburn. I remember the uproar regarding FO:BoS. hahahaha Still, I'm too lazy to go find trouble at the official forum. I'll just have to flame folks here instead.
  4. I challenge you to determine how much corporate tax he pays. I doubt HE knows; the hundreds of corporate entities that cross-invest in each other defeated international financiers years ago when he bid for some new asset ... But I'm more interested in your definition of nationality, if it isn't citizenship, what is it? Which beer you drink? I'm a global citizen. I drink beer from every nation.
  5. If he used an exploit to grief people, he got what he had coming to him when the ban stick came down.
  6. Reinstall the game, CrashGirl. I have to say, I really enjoyed the last part of the game. I did my run without reloading unless I got the chop, wich happened rarely on Stalker level. I was actually quite sloppy. For instance, I would loot bodies even though folks were shooting at me and then have to use bandages and med-kits. Even so, I had a decent number of bandages and med-kits until I got past that area with the long winding trail full of Monolith scum. Anyhow, in the city, my bandages ran out. I don't know if this is normal, but almost every wound I received resulted in a bleeding wound that required a bandage. I mean, virtually every time. I would take hardly any damage at all and STILL need to bandage. If I fell off the last few feet off stairs, I had a bleeder. Well, when I reliazed that my bandages were gone, I despaired. SO, I went on a bandage and med-kit run. I went back to the Freedom hold, killing folks along the way. Luckily for me, the Duty and Freedom people were fighting each other, which was great, since I could loot their bodies also. When I had over 80 bandages, I went back and finished with no problems.
  7. I thought as much, but I was all for keeping an open mind until I got the stuff. Frankly, much earlier we get a cut scene where I was hoping I was wrong, although it worked well so I didn't mind it. Nevertheless, I kept thinking that maybe I was wrong.
  8. I was thinking that. I found the documents and some sort of electrogizmo for opening a specific door. I should play again and go for that story arc. It seems almost certain to me that I am
  9. What a gyp. I got the "want to be rich" ending also. ...But that wasn't my motivating factor in the least. I mean, they should have given us at least a few choices at the end, because that was not at all the motivation for any of my actions throughout the game. I saw myself as trying to find the answer to a mystery or maybe looking for a way to shut down the zone.
  10. As you recall, I made a thread about monitors not long ago. You all convinced me to wait until the next batch of lcds since the current batch isn't quite up to snuff. In the meantime, I've decided that maybe I shouldn't worry about a new monitor at all. What I really need is a new television so that new xbox 360 won't be a waste. Now, I have an old crt tv. It's not hd. It's not pretty. ...And it's not big. I don't watch tv. I hate it with a passion, so there hasn't been any incentive to get anything better. Now, I'm thinking better of it. I'd like to get a great tv, but I'd like to keep the price under $1k. Any of you nerds have some sound advice on a good picture?
  11. Really, Vol. Where else could you find a utility to make that much extra space on your hard drive?
  12. You were on to something. ...And it's happy news, so everything is good. The screenshots don't particularly excite me. The epic levels were inevitable, as were prestige classes in the first game. However, it makes sense, in the current trend, that the game would end in epic levels. Actually, it all seems good except that I would have rather had the first game go to mid levels, the first expansion go to 20, and then wrap up a third act in epic levels. The howls would be deafening, to be sure. There was an outright cacophony when folks didn
  13. This is undoubtedly true. :Cant's earnest exrpession icon:
  14. Only, it was in a safe and there were two of the damned things when I went through. They sold for a lot. I don't know if it's a lot, but I've got some 60k right now. There's nothing really for me to buy, but since I'm only now getting into the juicy areas, that might change. Alls I can say is that everything got much easier when I figured out how to use the map, unload weapons, throw grenades, and (many thanks Crashgirl) toss bolts into electric fields.
  15. Isn't that the one you get for helping the mobile lab guy? I just finished, got the "Want to be rich" ending. No, I got the same one. In fact, it was exactly as you said. The radiation almost killed me and it was a real pain getting out. You had to climb these broken beams up to the ceiling and there was an electric field underneath that zapped you if you fell.
  16. Seriously I can't stand people who are somehow stupider than me. Clearly, you need not worry. EDIT: Ahh, in that case, I wasn't being offensive. Just a random tough guy.
  17. More WoW goodness. Aredne and her badass self in the Outlands. A young hunter and his trusted cat. That cat has best friend status. My wife plays Lluvia, and she is angry that she can't feed my pet, which she insists is a tiger because he has stripes and likes to swim. Go figure. Here is another one of Aredne in Darnasus. I jump around a lot while I play, which drives my wife crazy. Anyhow, I was jumping into the auction house when my head hit the upper floor. I hung suspended there. I thought the picture looked funny. I'll have to take some screenies of Stalker and show them sometime.

  19. So, how many WH40K people do we have here? Just looking for the vict-- I mean member who will start the 40k thread. :cant's sly grin icon:
  20. Damned with faint praise. I guess the sun is warm.
  21. Blood Money is truly classic. One of the best games I've played in a long time. I loved it. The ending was a bit hard, and there was one mission on a riverboat on which I never managed to get the highest rating at highest difficulty.
  22. They probably do, Oerwinde. I'm not putting down eb games. I'm just saying that they had the exact same information up for BG3 and that didn't turn out. It's not that I don't want to see the game. I do. I just want to see an official announcement.
  23. I dunno. Your group might be better off without me. :Cant's easy smile icon: I suppose we should start a thread dedicated to the idea and see how many people voice support. Just keep in mind that there will be those who voice disagreement at the idea. I'm game.
  24. I'm boring. I'm thrilled with the 40k idea. A lot. In fact, playing some Warhammer would be just what the PC doctor ordered.
  25. I don't think it's a hoax. Like Vol, I'm sure there will be an expansion. Like Tigranes, I'm not going to think too much of it until there is an official announcement.
