You don't want to be like a cat on a hot tin roof, do you? Burned once and never sets foot on it again, even in the cool evening hours. Of all the criticism, this most confounds me. I'm not trying to convince you to buy the game. I am hoping that you have some other reason than the one you state here to make the decision. If this is your only deal breaker, then I present you with an unbroken deal. MotB does not present the same thing as the NWN2 orc caves. Damn it, I'm trying to find the Tenessee Williams quote, but I can't.

People die all the time, I didn't know him or his music. So i'm supposed to feel bad because he was famous ? See, you feed a troll like Gorgon and he'll stick around. hahaha We should put a sign next to his posts: "Do not feed the Gorgon."

I dunno. I like arcane because it helps me manage my mana. I don't have the cool control tricks of frost and I don't output damage like fire, but I've managed to solo pretty much all of my levels. I think I'd go for fire next time, but that's certainly playing on the edge. Moire is 100% restoration. That means she's all about healing. Jack, if I ever take him out of the city again, needs a respec. I think I'll keep Peitho a beastmaster for the time being.

Well, you built a great character and had your fun then. Glad to see you're back in good health, though. I'd be jealous of all the cool gear, but I'd just sell it so that the guildies could buy stuff. Hmm, there's something wrong with that arrangement. Really, it takes dedication to get your character gear like that. I mean, I don't know if you should be "proud" of a computer game, but I could certainly understand a little self satisfaction. Mabye even a little smug self satisfaction. hehe

I guess I'll use what amounts to my current main, Moire. :D http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...eas&n=Moire My former main has, for a few levels now, been nothing more than a power leveler for other folks in my guild, which is to say a bunch of family and real life friends who have saddled me with the guild name of "The Nerd Herd." http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...as&n=Aredne She might not be much to look at, but she's gives every new guild member 300 gold and a set of bags. She's dished out over 3 grand to the guild, which is not a small amount of money for her. I know some folks manage to get rich quick, but 'red wasn't all that smart in her early life, so the money has been a struggle. Luckily, she has her epic mount, and there's plenty of time to make another few thousand if I even level her to 70 and go for an epic flying mount. She's so neglected, she only recently made herself a second mooncloth bag. Here's the guild auctioneer: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...amp;n=Jacksmith You'll notice very few blues on ol' Jackie. That's 'cause, like the rest of my characters, he's more likely to auction a blue than wear it. Finally, because he's probably my favorite character, even though I only play him about once a week with my wife and a friend up in Washington: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...as&n=Peitho Peitho means "I persuade." It seemed like a fitting name for a hunter. I have a whole slew of other characters of varying levels, but they're all just as cheap, with just as shabby equipment, as these guys.

Bioshock. Great game thus far. I'm actually replaying the first part up until the . I'll be playing WoW later with a bunch of other folks later.

I think I'll write up my Jay chat later today or tomorrow. You guys might enjoy getting an art team perspective.

Good Lord, Spider. I take it you didn't like it? hahaha It's good to get the straight scoop on these things. I hate embarrassing writing and embarrassing voice over work equally.
-
You people. Ugh. haha Oh well, I said my peace. Maybe I can actually avoid a lawsuit if the thread gets closed quickly enough.

Doofi. I actually like the news from BigBottom's post. That new optimization coming in the next patch will be quite good.

If your primary concern is combat difficulty, then you'll be quite happy with MotB. Not only is the story more interspersed with the battles, but the battles are much tougher. That doesn't even include the spirit eater mechanic which will make things difficult as well. The upshot is, if you'd rather have a game that is light on combat, I cannot recommend MotB. If you want a game that has a great story with challenging battles, then MotB is the game for you.

Sorry to double post, but you don't have to play the first NWN to understand NWN2 in the least. I know a lot of folks recommend NWN + expansions, and since you have the game you might want to play them also, but it is not necessary.

I skimmed the last page before I read this post, so I guess I don't have a fresh mindset. Let me say that MotB has a great deal of combat. Like Monte, I like to have a lot of combat in a game, and I find that fighting serves as a prominent feature in most PnP DnD games I've seen as well. However, I feel you in terms of the orc caves. Personally, I combat is interesting there, but is sometimes excessive in that the plot doesn

Well, if it ran like a badger on crack, it runs better now. However, I think it would plumb the depths of stupidity to pass over a great game like this because the engine could use more optimization. A lot of great games could have used engine optimization over the years. MotB is worth buying.

I see Olivier is here. He can comment on the state of the engine much better than I can.

I just want to see her french Madona.
-
Well, you know that Feargus Urquhart is Eldar's alt account, right?
-
You bought a pcu with the cast attached. :D

I went shopping to pick up things to fix the network at my folks/sister's network and my dad bought me Bioshock yesterday. I'm not even going to play it until I can sit down at home and play it in the dark. Woo Hoo!

Ah, don't feel so bad. I was on a city softball team once that lost every game that season. Some of the damned members were more eager to drink beer after the game than playing it. I hate those guys. What you guys need is a marty mcsorley. Some one to punish the other team for getting too close to your goalie. I would suggest alternating Alvin and Giovanni. One's quick and ones big and they're both meaner'n hell. Like Gorth says, forget fed-ex. Why deliver the mail when you can go postal? Dig the jersey.

I'm preordering it. I should receive one gratis for being on the team. I'll also buy a couple for friends as gifts. It's funny. When I first started working on it, someone asked me if he should buy it and I said, "if you liked NWN2, then I can't see where you'll go wrong." ...But I was increasingly impressed. As a result of my enthusiasm, two of my friends have purchased NWN2 just to play MotB. I don't know if it's going to run like a muskrat or whatever, but it's a damned good game and you guys will want to play it.

7-0? I told you guys that the peewee girlscout team was a tough bunch, but did you believe me? Noooooooo. seriously, you've got to be kidding. I'm an old guy with Asthma and I could do better than that! Hell, one of your players walks up and down the hall practicing soccer all day. Forget the heroics and kick the ball somewhere... like towards the other teams goalposts.
-
That's a loaded question, also. Really, I never even read my NDA and I don't know what all's entailed in signing it. I've just been going off of common sense and courtesy. Common sense tells me that I shouldn't discuss the state of the game and common courtesy obliges me to be tight lipped on the issue. However, I can give you a short answer. Yes. I would have bought it in the state it was when I left.

We should expect the Wii Version any day. They had to cut corners, though, so I can't account for the writing and the graphics, but the controls will be cool.

Pop, you swinehearted wretch! As I spend more time not working for Obsidz, I have less knowledge of what the hell's going on over there. It's not like any of them are going to keep me posted. Just keep your ear to the ground and I'm sure you'll have just as much information about the release date as I do.
