  1. yeah, who's the blonde chick?
  2. damn, who's the blonde chick?
  3. huh, i've already started. suck it n00b. see? that's foresight and dedication.
  4. like hordes of fricking munchkin locust, asking question after stupid question: "what is your favourite build for a dark sith maurader?" "will we be able to triple wield lightsabres like general grevious?" "i love bastila. will i be able to marry bastila in KOTOR2?"
  5. how about the bit where the jedi order's friends stage an intervention? and where the jedi order ends up in rehab because it can't admit it has a problem? nasty stuff.
  6. why? what happens in the next 2 months?
  7. that's bloody silly. since when did you have to be in perfect shape merely to have level 0? besides, i doubt you start KOTOR2 with a beer gut and a dodgy liver. rusty is one thing - maybe a -10% penalty to skills, etc - but level 0 is another. if the PC is a vet then this is someone who's not only undergone basic training but seen actual combat. and if they survived the mandalorian wars, then presumably they were pretty tough. the idea that they'd be busted back to level 0 is even stupider than "you wake up in a dungeon with all your items gone". i don't have a problem with starting KOTOR2 as a newb. but i'd rather they make you a proper newb and not a phony one for plot purposes.
  8. no, that sounds terrible. if you're revan in KOTOR2, then you should be from the get-go, not another bloody game where you discover that you're revan. if the protagonist of KOTOR2 is revan, it'll be bad enough that he/she is nerfed by another lame Bio excuse, without having to put up with the tedious plotting of the big reveal.
  9. strictly speaking, it has 1.8 million accounts, not actual members. speaking as someone who had about 20 aliases on the bio boards, that's a big difference.
  10. i still don't get how you can be a 'veteran' and start at level 0. it's one thing to have 'forgotten' how to use the force, but a veteran with 0 xp makes it sound like you also forgot how to walk and chew gum at the same time.
  11. there's 3 options i can see: (1) deal with it - the developers choose what happened and the particular ending you had in KOTOR1 is irrelevant. this would be slightly gutsy and the simplest way forward from a story point of view, although it would doubtless cause endless alienation to fans who followed the other path. i think Bio showed with HotU that they aren't above predetermining what happens with earlier storylines (c.f. all those whiny threads about what happens to stupid aribeth). at the same time, this particular course doesn't seem to gel with what's been said about the dialogue options establishing the previous outcome. (2) it's all equivocal - the developers fudge what happened in the fog of war to accomodate the possibility of both endings, e.g. "some say Revan betrayed the republic, others say Revan died trying to save it, etc yadda yadda". slightly easier for the fans but tougher to write for. (3) you decide - the developers leave the exact fate to your dialogue options. this seems best for the whiny fans and seems to be the approach they've actually taken, but it looks bloody hard to write for, without resorting to either fudging certain things (as per (2)) or predetermining them (as per (1)).
  12. actually, i think some of the other children are already better spellers than you are, Volourn.
  13. will this mean we wake up in a prison without any of our items too?
  14. maybe there's been more than one republic in that time... hell, the french revolution was only 215 years ago and france is already on its 5th republic.
  15. "forgetting" the force sounds almost as lame as the mind-wipe in KOTOR1. if they said that your PC's ability to use the force is diminished (as per episode 2), that might make more sense, but that still wouldn't explain why you (presumably) start off with 0XP. what i don't understand is why KOTOR2 just doesn't start you off as a proper newb, instead of these bloody stupid conceits.
  16. damn right she don't mind, and why should she?
  17. KOTOR2 should have the following mini-games: 1. the PC is trapped in a maze pursued by ghostly sith. occassionally the PC will hit a power point and be able to eat the sith for a limited time. 2. the PC is stuck in a tower block in a city, atop which is a giant gorilla hurling down barrels. 3. the PC has to cross a busy road and a river in order to get to the other side while wearing a frog suit, dodging cars, trucks and logs on the way.
  18. not if they're dead they won't. p.s. and as darque pointed out, obi wan didn't have any problem loaning his lightsabre to anakin to DW against dooku in episode 2.
  19. huh, even if Obsidian are darker (and Obsidian is pretty dark, hur hur), it's still a Lucasfilm production and a star wars game. so there are probably any number of limits to the darkness in KOTOR2.
  20. i hope one of the planets is the forest moon of endor. after all these years, there'd finally be a chance to kill some ewoks.
  21. betazed, vulcan, larry, curley and mo. in that order.
  22. same here. KOTOR's twist was forced and silly. i'd like to think that obsidian can do better than Bio on story, but i fear Bio's cliche squad will have the upper hand in whatever arrangement they've struck re KOTOR2.
  23. if they can wipe your memory, i don't think some hair and a missing jaw is too much of a stretch.
