  1. can't say i noticed, sorry. input? what are you, robbie the robot?
  2. yeah, msiatkes are the worst. i can't stand it when people make lazy msiatkes.
  3. Well, in a sense, yes. I'm posting from work. as am i, but i doubt i could claim it as part of my professional obligations. billing a client for 'posting on internet about star wars game' just wouldn't look good.
  4. professional? you mean you get paid for doing this? damn.
  5. that's a little surprising, coming from a guy who posts as much as you do. plus you're a self-confessed ****, so i thought'd you'd welcome the nerdy hordes.
  6. while we're acknowledging Bio's debt to PS:T, i think it extends beyond KOTOR1: the final chapter of HOTU (incidentally, the best thing they've done since the BG series ended) is essentially PS:T redux.
  7. why? i'd have thought you'd be happy to have more of your kind on these boards. **** fanboys are your kind of people, right?
  8. i left out movies that use amnesia for a plot twist - the list would be endless. the specific KOTOR1 twist - the protagonist discovers that he is actually the antagonist - has been done in at least 3 movies i can think of (thanks to whoever mentioned total recall - i'd forgotten that one). you could add 'identity' from 2003 to that list also, except that strictly speaking the protagonists discover both they and the antagonist are dissociative personalities of the same person, so not quite the same thing. OTOH the general KOTOR1 twist - the protagonist discovers something disturbing/unsettling about his past actions/identity of which he has no memory - is commonplace. at any rate, in CRPG terms, the specific twist has now been done enough to qualify as cliche - PS:T and KOTOR1 are enough.
  9. why would a dog keep another dog as a pet? is goofy a slave master?
  10. okay, but don't say i didn't warn ya: spoiler below angel heart and fight club.
  11. really? i can think of at least two hollywood films in the past 15 years with the exact same twist. i won't give the titles in case you ain't seen them, but their initials are AH and FC.
  12. I don't think that would be a problem, since they are using the 1st Kotor engine, which was created by bioware, I'm sure they had to licence it. not to mention all the content from KOTOR1. it would be impossible for Obsidian to do KOTOR2 without full rights to KOTOR1 story and characters. that's not to say that Obsidian will necessarily have a free hand (they probably have to run the story past the publishers for approval), but that worrying about using Revan, Bastila, et al, won't be an issue.
  13. Reporter: Don't you think it's dangerous to send civilians into space? Homer: I'll handle this... the only danger in space is if we land on that terrible Planet of the Apes... wait a minute. Statue of Liberty... that was OUR planet! YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!
  14. on that approach, the answer to "what can be learnt from HoW?" would be "almost everything". HoW did have remorhazes, though. you don't see that many remorhazes in CRPGs, so that would score 1 for HoW.
  15. there weren't many things to be learnt from HoW. except maybe that being based on a good game didn't necessarily entail a good expansion pack. steering back on-topic, i'm not surprised that the developers aren't disclosing much about the starting questions - i imagine they want all the latitude they can get story-wise, without having to commit themselves to something they posted on a discussion forum x months ago.
  16. are you sure? it's a pretty bloody big spoiler.
  17. yeah. i figure if i post enough, i can work my way up to postpimp.
  18. hey, thanks for the answers. you didn't answer the one about twilek pr0n, though. i guess that means you're saving it as a surprise for later, right?
  19. ha! i refer you to the special edition of ROTJ, where Lucas went back and put in cutscenes showing the celebrations in coruscant, tatooine, and bespin. it'd be pretty easy to do the same kind of thing in KOTOR2...
  20. so when pluto grows up, he will talk and wear clothes?
  21. some questions for the devs: any plans to fix the inventory interface? is Bioware involved at all? or is it just you and Lucasarts? will i be able to cut someone's arm off with a lightsabre this time? will what remains of the jedi council in KOTOR2 be as pompous and annoying as the one in KOTOR1? is enlargeable breast size a force power? will there be ewoks in KOTOR2? and if i buy my copy of KOTOR2 in germany, will they still be killable? if mickey's a mouse, and pluto's a dog, then what's goofy? twilek porn - yes or no?
  22. equally, i could boast "my post count is higher than yours" but that would only show how retarded i am. thanks, i put a lot of work into it.
  23. hmm. while we're parsing the press release for every last bit of info, i might as well point out a typo: "galaxies" is plural. the possessive form of "galaxy" is "galaxy's" unless, of course, there's more than galaxy whose fate hangs in the balance. which somehow i doubt.
  24. who's to say the one with the mask and the red lightsabre is evil? and the blonde chick is good? after all, that mask looks cool, with a kinda west african thing going on. whereas that blonde is suspiciously aryan.
