am not understanding the question. retrieval o' the sword of valor is the primary goal of chapter two. won't find it in camp. HA! Good Fun! -
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Part 2

terrible part is am not knowing if our game is busted and won't know until chapter four when a certain pivotal npc is required to advance quests. maybe won't know 'til later. game says we didn't save her, but we spoke to her same as usual in drezen after attaining level four mythic for angel, so... am level thirteen (perhaps 1/4 o' the way to fourteen) and am about to start blackwater, but have been doing crusade purposeful slow, and we already spent a day doing nothing save the aforementioned area. got at least a couple days before we make it to the end of chapter three. first world problems if ever there were one. we roll our eyes as folks jabber on 'bout the recent met gala-- who wore what and showed up with whom? who cares? 'course here we is getting annoyed by a pc game we knew would be bugged? ... unfortunate, recognition o' the triviality does not decrease our frustration. HA! Good Fun! -

personal we got a six month wait rule, but we contributed to the kickstarter and paid for beta, so would be kinda weird if after six months o' buggy beta testing we sudden decided the game were too unstable to play. aside, there is a new patch o' +9gb. no notes as yet. we got a couple extreme annoying bugs (missing feats for camellia and animal companions) and am dubious this patch will fix those issues. am having one possible game stopper nobody else has mentioned at owlcat boards, so am having even less confidence our biggest problem is gonna be addressed. replayed a portion o' the game many times trying to find a workaround to what may or may not be a serious roadblock for a mythic path am not wanting to play another few dozen hours only to find advancement hampered or stymied. HA! Good Fun! edit:https://steamcommunity.com/app/1184370/eventcomments/3044985412487813247/ pps another bug which ain't game breaking but is unfortunate is the inability to use ranged weapons in tb mode while mounted. is a known issue and has not been addressed the last couple patch iterations, which is hindering the usefulness o' our snapshot lann. on the positive side o' the ledger, am gonna assume camellia will be able to take the intimidating display hex. not sure if we need respec to fix. -

almost 3:30 am pst and there is an update o' ~3.5gb. am not certain what are the fixes. we had finished chapter two yesterday and were debating holding off on more wotr gaming until a few crusade bugs were addressed. mayhap the wait will be shorter than anticipated. (edit) patch notes. a few notables fixed. a few notables missing. HA! Good Fun! -

the question is less straightforward than it might appear to be at first glance. wotr provides so many options and one suspects a great many options are working properly or if they are not, most people won't realize if a roll that should be a functional 10% boost is only providing 8%. the thing is, based on board feedback, a few mythic paths are not advancing properly due to either quest issues or mechanics problems. also, if you are unlucky or unknowing and choose a broken class, spells or feats, then no doubt a wotr gaming experience will be frustrating. regardless, it is rare when the best advice regarding a pc game release would be other than delaying your initial purchase for a few months. there is a good chance the game will drop in price after six months or so (not always) and you most certainly will be playing a more stable product after a few robust patches have fixed many problems. for this individual, the game is not unplayable in its current state, but such is because our expectations were for the wotr release to be a functional additional beta stage. HA! Good Fun! ps am already having invested dozens of hours into the game and the end of chapter two (of six total chapters) is gonna happen sometime today. am suspecting less pokey players have gotten a fair bit deeper into the game. not unplayable, but not polished by any means and there is a few bugs which could result in significant frustration depending on your character and quest choices. -

can't use ranged weapons on a mount while in tb. is a number of tb quirks regarding mounted combat. a few is dispelled with a simple switch to rt for a second, but not all. in drezen we have had multiple party members drop through floors; that bug almost feels nostalgic. demonslayer favored enemies feature does not play well with other similar features. most obvious quirk is another oldie: sacred huntsmaster and demonslayer favored enemies features overlap different 'depending on which class gets fe first. and what's with the flying mug? etc. is a few minor crusade bugs so far but am given to understand they proliferate more than a little in act 3. oh, and is worth noting the upgraded army units current are in most instances not upgrades. would appear the base units were improved at some point by owlcat but they never bothered to give enhanced units a proportional power boost so now the base units often outperform the enhanced versions. reality is a harsh mistress. am recalling an owlcat developer mentioning pre beta that one thing they learned from kingmaker were to avoid the timer and so wotr quests and crusade management weren't gonna be near as punishing from a time management aspect as were the case in their previous title. then the beta happened and people advanced the calendar by 10 years to build sooper armies. owlcat solution: create a timer for crusade management. crude and lacking in creativity were the owlcat response to beta players predictable breaking the crusade/army management model, but such a response were not entirely unforeseeable. we didn't genuine expect a back to the drawing board approach, but am nevertheless disappointed by how blunt were the owlcat efforts. HA! Good Fun! -
is worth noting that the fact we are having a discussion 'bout cheesey and/or well developed crpg characters requires the recognition o' multiple improbabilities. consider your favorite all-time crpg companions. any o' them pre-ps:t? possible dogmeat, and is not 'cause he were well written. ps:t were the first game where companion development were a focus o' the title, and ps:t did not sell. chris avellone, for all our criticism, deserves a whole lotta credit for changing the fundamental crpg paradigm. chris took a chance and complete altered the way crpgs were made and he did so with a sales failure for black isle and interplay. 'course is questionable if the change(s) mr. avellone brought about woulda' stuck if not for the success o' bg2. bioware also deserves more credit than many is willing to offer. bg1 sold and sold well with a multitude o' companions who had little to offer beyond the four corners o' their character record sheet and a handful o' vo catch phrases. ps:t is released and does not sell well. so in spite o' folks such as Gromnir and others pushing for better character development o' the bg2 companions, what motivation were there for bio to do so save for fact that the biowarians were also fans o' ps:t regardless o' underwhelming sales? bio looked with envy 'pon what chris avellone achieved and wondered how to make such crpg storytelling marketable. sneer if you will, but game developers is in the business o' selling games. too many ps:t players were unable to enjoy the wall o' text dialogues from a few ps:t companions. solution: bioware implemented a loose three-line guideline for bg2 dialogues. just one example o' bio changes. primarily as a cost and time saving approach, black isle, the developer who made ps:t, released iwd before bg2 and they cut companions complete from their title. iwd ended up saving black isle's arse 'cause it sold well and were cheap. so what happens if bg2 has companions same old same old as bg1? diablo 2 is released during same time as bg2 and iwd and is worth recalling that the diablo clones were the most popular crpgs o' the day. does ps:t style companion development become a functional one off? regardless, an aspect o' crpg development most take for granted were hardly obvious back in early 2000. the fact we all assume companions should be developed beyond a cheesy catchphrase is the result o' improbabilities. just sayin' HA! Good Fun!
-
at least through chapter four, is nothing too significant lost by going full merc party. do the companion quests for the loot and then just leave 'em in camp is gonna short you a handful o' dialogue options you don't want anyways. but serious, is writing for a crpg and not a novel. by the very nature o' the medium you got limited dialogue-centric opportunities for developing character and then you drop those characters into a chosen one story where gods and demon lords are fighting and not just through proxies. tolkien addressed a similar issue by abandoning character development almost entirely. is almost no plot driven fantasy fiction being written nowadays and we wouldn't be talking 'bout cheesy characters if the tolkien approach were actual in vogue and embraced by owlcat. we would get bg level o' companion interaction and wouldn't think twice 'bout how coran were the most developed character, and a deadbeat dad at that. however, am gonna need repeat once more so is clear, am acknowledging owlcat writing efforts is at best eye-roll worthy. "writing o' the companions (writing period) were kinda sucktastic in kingmaker. does not bode well if one cares 'bout narrative issues. am thinking owlcat should kinda play to their hack n' slash strengths rather than getting themselves into a situation where enjoyment o' a title depends on quality o' writing."-- Gromnir, 12/5/2019 owlcat writing in kingmaker were not a highpoint o' the title, and wotr, by the very nature o' the story elements which is fixed via the contributions o' paizo, were making it so that anybody expecting other than cheese from owlcat's second title were optimistic beyond reason. ... from our pov, listening to people complain about owlcat taking the wrath of the righteous ap and making it cheesey is similar to listening to folks complain 'bout the acting and character development in pr0n. yes, the acting and character development in pr0n is almost w/o exception laughable, but is a curious complaint, no? HA! Good Fun!

am s'posing you could consider the following spoilery, but the following is the link to the pnp adventure path at paizo: https://paizo.com/wrathOfTheRighteous am not defending owlcat writing efforts. the thing is, with even cursory knowledge o' the pnp ap 'pon which the wrath pc game is based, would you expect the owlcat writers to focus on the human elements o' the story and growth of characters as people as 'posed to leaning into the archetypes? serious? is not as if owlcat imagined wrath into being. in its pnp incarnation, wrath is a munchkin's fantasy adventure showcasing the then new mythic rules from paizo. other than the second adventure installment, wrath is designed to be a rather linear and transparent excuse to throw epic cheese at a player. what woulda' made anybody believe owlcat writing efforts were gonna be transformative? we got favorite pathfinder ap, and wrath doesn't make the top ten list. in retrospect, am ok with owlcat's choice to do wrath 'cause am expecting we woulda' been mighty disappointed if they blundered their way through carrion crown, skull and shackles, hell's rebels, etc. @Vaeliorin am kinda feeling a disconnect as you observe you are not finding the game particular challenging, but there isn't enough stat boosting 1007? more such goodies would effective make the game even easier, yes? dunno. in the beta, by the time we were in the abyss, the stat boosting items were not rare, but it still made sense to diversify our party 'cause chances are the best stuff were limited. post drezen world map exploration also provides considerable treasure. be aware, if you are skipping the crusade/army management, you are making a mistake. there is significant loot to be found by conquering opposing armies and if nothing has changed, the best strength boosting item pre drezen is available via an army conflict. am personal just having reached level seven so the relevant battle for the strength belt is not appearing yet on our map, but as everything else is the same thus far, am assuming it will reveal itself in due time. should have multiple +2 items pre drezen and a few +4 including dex and strength. am a big fan o' animal companions and am typical having 'tween two or three in a given party configuration, and that is not including aivu. animal companions, 'cause they ain't as op as in kingmaker, is perhaps a bit underrated in wrath. am seeing folks bragging 'bout the extra attacks they get with some mutagenic warrior build but they ignore how a dog or leopard gets multiple attacks, trip and the critter may attack designated opponents distant from the player and act as a mobile meat shield if necessary. have teamwork feats to provide 'em outflank, seize the moment and tandem trip, as well as potential other options, makes multiple animal companions a serious power boost for a party. as such, if we were able to fully kit animal companions and our entire party with top tier stat boosting items it might be just a smidge unbalancing. aside: worst bug we has had to endure so far is cosmetic. our pc has a darker complexion. so too does sosiel. if you save your game under specific lighting conditions (or so am beginning to suspect) and then reload, sosiel and those with similar complexions become... chalky. if you do not have an earlier reload, you is stuck with your pc or sosiel looking like one o' the undead. sounds like a minor thing, and am supposing in the case o' sosiel we will deal with it, but we need to maintain a few save points just in case this happens again with our pc. am not wanting to spend +100 hours enduring self directed michael jackson jokes 'bout our character appearance. HA! Good Fun!

not very. for those angry the Court might kill roe, keep in mind a couple points: 1) from the moment roe were decided, there has been a whole lotta disagreement 'bout its legitimacy. please recall that rbg criticized the legal reasoning behind roe. unlike gun possession or speedy trial, abortion as a right were created by a handful of justices who were not clear or in agreement 'bout what part o' the Constitution created a new fundamental right and what limitations might exist for such a right. not a strong opinion and since 1973 there has been fears the decision could be overturned. based on nothing save legal merits, the continued existence o' roe for near fifty years is nothing short o' amazing. 2) Congress coulda' legislated a solution anytime over the past decades. this is not a Court problem save that Congressional cowardice has made it so. again, has been fears every decade since 1973 that roe might be overturned, and Congress didn't want any part in creating an abortion right which w/o legislative intervention could be vanished anytime by Justices who were not democratic elected and who is typical more concerned with legal principle than the real world impact o' expunging questionable precedent. many thousands o' women will suffer if there is a return to pre roe fumbduckery? is always a few Justices who take the image o' justice blindfolded extreme serious. remember your school lessons 'bout government? what is the role o' the Judiciary and what is the role o' Congress? took a decade for Congress following brown v. board of education to get off their collective arses and pass the civil rights acts. it's 2021 and Congress never addressed the problems created by roe. ... am not suggesting roe should be overturned, but nobody should be surprised if it is... overturn is not a slam dunk btw. HA! Good Fun!

ascendant element makes some o' the element issues moot, though admitted elemental barrage is also extreme powerful. acid maw is a first level druid/hunter spell and it counts as damage caused by the caster as 'posed to the animal companion. the spell has a decent duration at higher levels and your animal companion may spread the wealth as it were. is a kinda sneaky way to take advantage o' the already cheesy elemental barrage mythic feat. HA! Good Fun!

such is most assured a generalization, and again, we observed not only the possibility o' a foreign language article but the existence o' an outlier article making the claim you offered. an english language search does not impact or preclude the possible existence o' your story. we suggested the search as doing so reveals a multitude o' The Media not indulging in misleading title shenanigans and, in point o' fact, we did not see a misleading clickbait title during a perusal o' the first few pages o' a google news search for your proffered title. the media most assured weren't spreading misinformation. one. greek. source... maybe. you "heard people." great. HA! Good Fun!

that's the thing. the texas law ain't creating some kinda remote burden on maybe a few people somewheres. roe is current the law o' the land and says abortion is legal well beyond six weeks. the texas law criminalizes abortions past six weeks. is a conflict. the texas law don't even provide exemptions for those who were raped. am having difficulty explaining why the courts is willing to indulge procedural bs when so many facing an already hard choice is gonna need decide whether to risk criminalization.
-
should be less remote than forever. is a house o' cards built on contrived procedural bs, and is exact the kinda bs the Court ignored last year during the pandemic to grant various religious groups emergency relief from covid-19 restrictions. there is a 5th circuit decision, an administrative stay actually, which s'posed prevents other courts from interfering while certain legal questions is addressed. again, is procedural bs, and we can't see such silliness being carried out too long much less indefinite. SCOTUS could ignore the 5th circuit stay, but via a 5-4 shadow docket decision has chosen to remain silent. again, is procedural bs and am not certain how the 5th circuit stay could remain viable for more than a couple weeks w/o becoming presumptive unconstitutional, but am genuine surprised we are at this point, so... HA! Good Fun!
-
no. the thing is, the law makes it illegal to have an abortion past six weeks. regardless o' the texas bounty scheme, roe is triggered. the bounty scheme is a way to avoid the criminal courts and the protections defendants would receive in criminal court. from a practical pov, doesn't matter if the texas law is unconstitutional or that you are innocent o' any wrong doing. is expensive and time consuming fighting civil suits, and various conservative groups has already built up war chests in anticipation of going after violators o' the texas law. 'course none o' this would be an immediate concern if any 5th circuit court or SCOTUS did their job and blocked enforcement pending a future inevitable decision. HA! Good Fun!
-
again, you are gonna need a showing o' sufficient criminal intent/knowledge. if the uber driver drops off a young woman at an abortion clinic, maybe you are able to show the uber driver knew he were aiding in the commission o' a crime. maybe. even with strict liability offenses, there is a limit to how far the causal chain is extending. toxic waste dumping is illegal, and the state doesn't even care if you knew the stuff you were dumping is hazardous. you dump? you are liable. period. no intent needed. the thing is, we don't hold liable the guy who sold gasoline to the person who drove the truck which carried the toxic sludge. there is legal thresholds as to how expansive is the causal chain, but most o' the boogiemen being imagined is unlikely to ever be an issue. am doubting uber drivers is ever gonna be prosecuted 'cause is getting kinda remote and also for simple reason the uber drivers is gonna be asked to drop off passengers not at the clinics in question, but perhaps one block remote from the clinics. cell phone providers is even more remote. HA! Good Fun!

What are you Playing Now: Living the Game Life
Gromnir replied to Amentep's topic in Computer and Console
am recalling a discussion with a bioware developer a few years after bg2 development concluded. the developer mentioned how previous to bg2 development, bio developers (at least the writers and level designers) were required to replay bg1 entire. the developer in question conceded how playing the game were a painful slog until reaching the city of baldur's gate. 'course for the developer the suffering were less 'bout difficulty spikes than it were the widely spaced repetitive encounters and excessive reliance on mindless fed-ex quests, but even so, perhaps you feel better knowing even biowarians, only a short time removed from the initial release o' bg1, had difficulty playing the game w/o it feeling like a scene from ben hur HA! Good Fun! -
is a decent question even so. fifty years has seen a substantial amount o' inflation. $7 million in 2021 dollars. most estimates we has seen suggest bernie is worth $2million. as such bernie arguable has another another five million to go before risking the stain o' immorality. am thinking we mentioned earlier in the thread how if you wanna retire at 65 in 2021, then you likely need more than $1million and that is IF you can count on social security supplementing the rather smallish yearly roi and IF you is willing to live someplace affordable. anybody confident social security is gonna be as robust twenty years from today? $1million sounds like lots, and if you are young and stoopid and not considering retirement yet, or if you is the half of the US adult population with literal more debt then assets, one million is indeed a large amount o' cash. such a recognition should be terrifying most americans, but many o' us, 'cause it feels like there is nothing we are able to do 'bout it, push those fears down as we try and get to sleep at night. in the US, $1,000,000 is far less than it seems. if you are not aiming to be at least a millionaire, then you are doing it wrong. HA! Good Fun!
-
our only point is that if you make statements 'bout the percentage o' unregistered or illegal guns used in US crimes, you are likely gonna need rely on incomplete data. is not a criticism or show o' approval regarding any gun issue being discussed. such data should exist. such numbers should be readily available so that legislators and citizens may make informed decisions. no such data or evidence exits which is genuine reliable. am doing no more than recognizing how US crime stats, other than extreme broad generalizations, is gonna be matters o' conjecture more than fact, and "common sense" often leads to exact wrong conclusions. HA! Good Fun!
-
the texas law is unconstitutional until SCOTUS overturns roe. is not actual a profound or divisive legal question. there should be a 5th circuit court willing to put the texas law on hold until the this mess is addressed. current silence from 5th circuit and SCOTUS is unbecoming and unjust even if is Constitutional to delay. the easiest way to think o' the texas right to sue anybody in causal chain is to liken it to a bounty. texas effective deputized all citizens to root out the criminals who break the law and then to sue those criminals for what amounts to a $10k reward. as to employer giving money, criminal requires intent. give money must be accompanied with legal sufficient knowledge you is contributing to the commission of crime. HA! Good Fun!
-
stats related to gun crimes is less likely to be accurate as you get more granular. am knowing the issue has been discussed previous when addressing the number o' gun homicides in the US. the fbi tracks such data based on surveys supplied to them by the literal thousands o' state and local departments across the nation. we got a pretty good notion o' how many gun homicides there were in the US in 2018 or more remote, and the surveys does at least ask police departments to distinguish firearms used as blunt force weapons. shotguns, handguns and long rifles is all having separate categories, but assault rifle, since is such a fluid descriptor, is not part o' the fbi stats. you would think that numbers related to registered v. unregistered would be known. more important, and seeming more obvious, you would think numbers related to illegal possession o' a firearm in the commission o' a crime would be ez to track. have seen a couple guestimates 'bout unregistered firearms but the numbers is based on interviews and surveys with persons incarcerated in state and fed prisons, which obvious ignores the many criminals never caught. we didn't bother to check unregistered v. registered, and our personal knowledge which we has any confidence 'bout the issue is now dated beyond eight years remote, so perhaps somebody somewheres did a more comprehensive study with verifiable data. dunno. regardless, the more specific is your query regarding national crime stats, the more likely you is to be left with an unsatisfactory answer. our federal system which precludes the national government from exercising police power also makes tracking national crime data problematic. is no sinister cover up or anything similar. HA! Good Fun!
-
so? again, we observed the possibility such an article existed and specific queried language origin. missing forest for a single tree. generalize The Media from a single greek story when is literal dozens o' media news stories which present the issue w/o a misleading title is, at best unfair. serious, do a google search based on the title you provided. observe all the astrezenaca stories which, like the linked nytimes article, observe the need for US astrzeneca employees to need be vaccinated. is gonna take effort to find misleading titles. since we are on a logic trend, might also wanna check the hasty generalization logic fallacy. HA! Good Fun!
-
we put it into google (fixed the misspell) and got no results for that specific title. different language? maybe the title isn't quite as described? dunno. however, first article retrieved based on word search as 'posed to exact title were from npr It's The Vaccine That's Lost A Lot Of Trust. But AstraZeneca Still Has Its Fans the following article makes clear that US employees o' astrazeneca must be vaccinated even though they likely are unable to procure the astrazeneca https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/30/business/vaccine-mandate.html am s'posing its fun for some to pretend as if The Media is monolithic. at the very least doing so simplifies the blame game. regardless, finding the article in question is less ez than finding dozens which dispell any such confusion, so... is possible the article does exist, and am not doubting somewhere out there in the iterweb somewhere a blog post or fringe story with such a title exists, but is not a The Media thing. simple search o' news shows multitudes o' stories where the need for US astrazeneca employees to be vaccinated is presented w/o a misleading title. this is now a particular appropriate thread response. a is better than b a is better than c a is better than d ad infinitum formal logic is an elegant but incomplete method for reflecting 'pon the merits o' an argument, but is indeed useful. somebody tells you there is worse options than a and you will indeed be justified in heaping ridicule and scorn 'pon their logic. will never reach a point where you may make a conclusion 'bout the safety or efficacy o' a if the argument is that there is worse alternatives than a. options worse than horse jelly? ok. in the present context is as logical relevant as telling us one's preference regarding the pie v. cake conundrum. nevertheless, to be fair, we did a few second search on google and discovered beyond simple the possibility o' miscalculating human dosage from a product equines, the stuff in horse jelly in addition to the active ingredient may be toxic to humans. curious discovery: horses and humans is not same. is also an issue with even human quality ivermectin having a somewhat lengthy list o' known drug interactions which may be problematic for a person being treated for covid-19, and such were the reason for doctors balking at using the ivermectin in the aforementioned story involving judge involvement. regardless, if you are buying horse jelly as a treatment for active covid-19 infection or as a preventative medicine, then you is obvious afraid of covid-19 to some degree. choose horse jelly as 'posed to easily available mitigation and preventative options which is either complete benign or has been tested on many millions o' patients with an extreme low incidence o' side effects is not reasonable. not sure why somebody woulda' wanna argue such a point, but the world is a wide and wacky place, no? oh, and given the current trend o' willful weirdness, we checked illinois and delaware for vaccine verification protocols, just for funsies. https://coronavirus.delaware.gov/vaccine/ https://dph.illinois.gov/news/idph-launches-online-vax-verify-system https://dph.illinois.gov/vaxverify is a state-by-state thing, but delaware and illinois is most definite keeping records regarding vaccinations. that said, is likely nobody woulda' bothered to verify legitimacy o' chloe mrozak's credentials but for the misspelling. keeping her mouth shut once cops suspicion were aroused woulda' annoyed the local constabulary and no doubt convinced 'em she were guilty o' something, but am suspecting the gig were functional up at that point regardless. however, to be fair, is almost always best for people to keep their mouth shut when dealing with cops. you should provide police/authorities your id 'cause is no benefit in resisting such a proffer even if is not legal required. do not resist arrest, but if you believe you is being arrested, then make sure you ask if you are being arrested and state clear you are not complying voluntarily with an arrest even if you are going along peaceably. only other thing you need say is, "lawyer." no sweary. no threats. no explanations or claims o' innocence. HA! Good Fun! ps we misspelled delaware 2x in the 'bove post .
