  1. so far, pelosi has been getting to play as clubber lang. am not certain why cortez is included, but unless you have been living in a cave for over a month, pelosi has been clear winner o' the first two battles or rounds. round 1: https://www.apnews.com/30769167ab7a4ef9adf880d020b775dd round 2: https://www.npr.org/2019/02/14/694647564/congress-sprints-to-pass-border-security-package-with-trumps-support-unclear trump forced a shutdown 'cause he weren't satisfied with $1.6 billion for border security and fencing in december o' 2018. mid february 2019 and trump is gonna get $1.375 billion. oh, and turn back clock to mid march 2018 and trump woulda' been able to get $25 billion if he hadn't sudden did a 180 on seeming already agreed terms o' a bipartisan resolution. without question, trump is the worst presidential deal maker in our memory. "win" tends to be elastic for trump and trump followers. if a win is getting wall built, such a goal is, in all likelihood, already doomed. Court will ultimate decide national emergency silliness, and by the time such happens, 2020 elections is gonna be nearing resolution. national emergency effective ends chance o' wall building near future, save for to extent we described earlier in the thread. however, if "win" is for trump to look tough enough for the right-wing radio hosts to call off the dogs, so to speak, and convince trump's base he is still their guy, then... *shrug* am increasing pleased to admit our surprise at just how little the trump base expects from a trump presidency. is trump gonna find his inner rocky and miraculous transform for second fight? no, but not need to transform. only need for his base to see him as rocky and for democrats to once again choose a presidential candidate less popular than trump, which would seem implausible and improbable save for fact it already happened in 2016. HA! Good Fun!
  2. our two biggest us national-level concerns: debt crisis income inequality obama, in eight years, near doubles debt through his application o' misdirected deficit spending efforts and saw a significant acceleration o' income inequality. and yeah, obama isn't the guy to blame for income disparity increases. bill clinton is actual the primary villain for the widening income gap during obama's administration, but obama did little to try and fix the problem neither. is actual rare you are able to point to the President as the guy-to-blame for most economic matters. however, repeal glass-steagall and the like were efforts at bank deregulation spearheaded by bill clinton. yeah, Congress were complicit and bush efforts to reign in fannie-mae and freddie mac were a dismal failure, (credit or blame for trying and failing?) but is not hard to blame clinton when he is the guy who most public and private advocated lifting bank limits which had lasted for seven decades... limits put in place after the first great depression. even so, while is seeming minor in larger scheme, nasa gutting and initial campaign v. mccain is the stuff which bothered us most regarding obama. campaign issues went to quality and character o' the man and nasa... well, am admitting a certain romanticism when it comes to nasa. we can explain value o' nasa to long-term r&d and stem and whatnot, but am admitting to not being complete objective when it comes to us space program. but to more direct respond to gd, in our federal system, it shouldn't matter who comes next. responsibility for crafting legislation should fall to Congress more than next President. unfortunate, the torpor and indolence o' Congress has been increasing for many years. am knowing am repeating self, but will once again observe how is not an enumerated power o' chief executive, but as the most singular visible person in the fed govt, the President has disproportionate influence over the national agenda. with growth o' social media and the 24-hour news cycle, setting agenda has become more significant in recent years. even the most inane comments from a chief executive is gonna reach the ears o' citizens in near real-time. an overwhelming popular President with a mandate from the people would be able to motivate Congress through control o' national agenda, but 2019 US politics is far too divisive for a mandate from the people chief executive to be emerging anytime soon. save for possible national crisis (real one and not border myths) the 2020 President, whoever they is, will take office attempting to lead a deep divided nation. to get anything done at the fed level is gonna require a consensus builder, and am not seeing a consensus builder as appealing to the angry and partisan Americans who will be voting for President during the upcoming cycle. as such, am kinda approaching gd cynicism levels regarding fed even if am coming at such cynicism from a different direction. so, gd wins? huzzah. HA! Good Fun!
  3. kareem hunt to the browns were curious. not simple the pr ramifications which makes the pairing o' browns and hunt odd, but rb didn't appear to be a serious need in any event. chubb averaged 5.2 yds per carry in 9 starts last year and looked to be a nice rnd 2 pickup resulting in a legit workhorse rb for the browns. duke johnson also averaged 5.0 yds per carry as a change-o'-pace back. am probable gonna take some heat for admitting we don't believe hunt deserves an auto ban-for-life 'cause o' the incident. am not making excuse for hunt neither. hitting a woman is generally frowned 'pon by society, but is less meaningful to us personal. on the other hand, hit folks who cannot reasonable defend themselves offends our sensibilities. if kareem, a 200lb trained athlete, had struck some random teenage male who were mouthy and physical frail individual weighing ~100lbs, we would be no less disappointed with mr. hunt than when he struck the woman in the vid. am only marginal caring what were said to hunt which got him so angry. doesn't much matter to us as violence cannot be the appropriate response. and sure, we got a presumption o' relative helplessness when comparing men and women, but such is resulting from simple biological realities related to muscle mass and upper body strength. regardless, while the brutality o' the ray rice video were particular disturbing, the kareem hunt vid didn't shock us to the same degree. kareem hunt's actions were, in our mind, deplorable, but not necessarily deserving o' career end. however, am not certain what mr. hunt has said or done to convince the browns he has earned redemption. is not up to mr. hunt to prove to Gromnir he deserves another shot at a nfl career, but am hopeful there were more than a simple mea culpa and promise to do better. some kinda successful completion o' anger management and perhaps continued enrollment in an aa program? community service at a battered women's shelter? dunno. as an aside, am pretty sure we mentioned how we worked at a juvenile hall in the increasing distant past. we worked, for the most part, in the high security unit. the "kids" in our unit were typical incarcerated awaiting trial for serious offenses including murders and particular heinous sexual crimes. am recalling an occasion when one resident threatened our sister. we never shared personal details with residents, but is likely a fellow counselor mentioned something to either a resident or fellow counselor in earshot o' residents... musta' mentioned how we not only had a sister, but that she lived with us due to her medical issues. regardless, this resident threatened our sister in graphic details am unwilling to repeat, and he suggested his fellow gang members "on the outs" would follow us home from work one night to find out where we lived, and then they would do unspeakable things to our sister once we were no longer present. could tell he were not making an idle threat. we knew from reading his file, such a threat were plausible. ... is closest we have ever come to losing temper and physical assaulting somebody as a result o' anger. am not counting consensual fights, which we were involved in far too frequent as a youth, but as an adult, have never hit anybody 'cause o' something said to us. the juvenile hall incident were a close call. am having shared the anecdote from our past to illustrate how we were sore tempted to resort to violence in response to verbal threats and provocation. am understanding how is possible to hear words so antagonistic that a physical retort feels justified. as such, am not complete unsympathetic to folks who indulge such whims in the heat o' the moment. if we had beat on _______ after he threatened our sister, what punishment would we have deserved? should we have lost our job? we were simultaneous going to law school at time, so if we struck the 6' 190 lb kid, should such a mistake on our part have resulted in the kinda stain which woulda' prevented us from being admitted to the bar? would it have made a difference if the kid we hit had, instead o' being man-sized, were 5'7" and 140 lbs? am a smidge under 5'9", though when we played football, we were typical listed as 5'10" or even 5'11". weighed +215 at the time we worked at the hall and were stronger (but slower) than we were in college when we were third strongest (bench+military+squat total) guy on a pac 10 team, regardless o' position. as an adult with the kinda weight and strength advantage we possessed, were _______ functional defenseless? am recognizing a physical response to verbal or insignificant physical antagonism, is not always as a simple right v. wrong situation as we would wish it to be. is not an excuse. violence is not the right response to verbal provocation, period. however, what is correct response to such a wrong is a "depends" kinda scenario. am not thinking nfl punishments for such transgressions is simple and obvious. is not a legal question neither. whatever. more important, giants might be the big story for the 2019 draft. dolphins, broncos, redskins, jaguars and giants is teams most likely to choose a qb early in the draft. unless something happens during workouts and combine, none o' the qb options got consensus franchise qb grades. nevertheless, same as bears choosing trubisky a couple years ago, in 2019 some team (teams) is gonna trade up for a guy who got ify kinda projections insofar as ever being The Guy under center. dwayne haskins, daniel jones, drew lock and kyler murray all got high potential to go in the first round, and am suspecting at least one o' those guys goes top 5. giants pick 6. does giants pay to move up to guarantee they get their firstest choice, and if so, how far? is giants content to sit and wait at 6 for whichever qb might be available? does giants skip qb altogether and choose other needs if their first qb choice ain't available? etc. giants own the draft, right until one o' those other qb poor teams moves ahead o' the giants. HA! Good Fun!
  4. generalities lose sight of specifics. during obama admin, national debt near doubled, infrastructure spending (such as new deal approach to deficit spending) were curtailed, and taxes on business interests resulted in relative sluggish growth in spite o' huge increase in deficit spending. HA! Good Fun!
  5. Well, this is the 21st Century. Maybe she identifies as a cat? am not gonna judge her lifestyle choices. heck, she gots some kinda weird marking instinct we rare see in female canines. so, not only identifying as a cat, but male as well? "live and let live," says us. am only concerned when her lifestyle choices threaten life and/or limb o' random strangers. when is when? answer: too often. the thing is, in spite o' her age, she is an attractive dog with a fluffy coat-- folks feel compelled to try and pet her. HA! Good Fun!
  6. obama's idiotic attempts to fix the recession woes by vast increasing debt with huge deficit spending is exact what am crediting him. in addition to complete misguided foreign policy by obama which we have discussed ad nauseum (and am having no wish to revisit) am also never gonna forgive obama for gutting nasa. set goal of a mars mission by 2035... while cutting nasa budget by 20%? also didn't like how obama ran his campaign 'gainst mccain, but at least those choices were arguable strategic even if low and cheap. etc. obama were not our favorite President. in this day and age, am knowing it seems strange to dislike both obama and trump, but Gromnir is an intellectual free-agent. heck, we have even applauded a couple trump choices so is not as if am incapable o' separating our personal dislike for the flim-flam man occupying the oval office, from his policy decisions. HA! Good Fun!
  7. https://www.usnews.com/opinion/economic-intelligence/articles/2017-10-02/former-president-barack-obamas-real-economic-record-isnt-pretty the only way you get a decrease for obama is if you use starting point for obama in 2009 and do yearly comparisons. overall, obama has a serious deficit increase. blame bush for fiscal 2009, but rest is on obama. oh, and blame for bush 2009 is actual suspect as he were trying to deal with legacy o' clinton mistakes regarding banking deregulation with little help from Congress. bush tried to reign in deregulation efforts and had a veto overturned-- one o' his biggest political failures. obama has full support o' Congress and nevertheless expands deficit by a massive amount... oh, and same banking nightmares o' 2008 is emerging in 2019. don't be surprised if we get another real estate bubble burst in next couple years 'cause obama failed to fix actual problems while simultaneous vast increased deficit. HA! Good Fun!
  8. is a nice image, but our dogs, three of four, would go absolute bat-crap crazy if they were approached by a strange dog, while in a vulnerable condition, in a vet office. am not sure how they know, but we put dogs in the 97 chrysler minivan (our dog-specific motor transport... best purchase of last 10 years) with intent o' taking 'em to vet, and they know. apprehension becomes palpable on the trip to vet. one dog reacts to fear by becoming almost narcoleptic, which is nice. two dogs become agitated and lose bladder control and look for a corner in which to hide... then they try to dig further into the corner. crating them doesn't help much. the final dog, our oldest border collie, has anger issues. the old girl is a rescue (all save one o' our dogs is rescue) and has never become true socialized. the oldest border collie doesn't like anybody not family and at unspecific rare moments, am not certain she likes Gromnir much either. she loves to cuddle, right up until she doesn't. mercurial. none o' our dogs is dog people. two 'o our dogs like humans. one pooch is afraid o' everything. one pooch is always a hair's-breadth away from channeling her inner critical bill. got no idea how many near misses we have had with strangers who reach out to pet critical bill without permission. "it's ok. dogs like me." *sigh* HA! Good Fun!
  9. tried to watch a bit o' the trump el paso rally. would be so much easier to listen to trump inaccuracies if he looked like angelina jolie, no? am not sure why, but trump taking credit, again, for va choice (a deeply flawed bit o' congressional legislation) irritates us more than most o' his fibs. trump did not initiate or sponsor va choice. https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/arizona/politics/2014/06/05/va-scandal-mccain-sanders-reform-compromise/10021843/ trump says everybody thought va choice were impossible and nobody were doing anything 'bout the va situation 'til he got involved. if any specific people deserves credit and blame for va choice, it is mccain and sanders. "web of lies." were bipartisan legislation which almost nobody in house or senate voted against. were signed into law by obama. trump contribution were rubber stamping the continuation o' existing va choice. continuing to take credit... offends. and as far as the wall... *chuckle* finish the wall is the new slogan? ain't even got one new mile built. finish is a bit quixotic given the realities, no? https://www.newsweek.com/ann-coulter-donald-trump-border-wall-1328714 'course the real problems is just ahead for trump and is complete unrelated to wall or va or whatever. congressional investigations will be a real headache and mueller will be an annoyance, but am suspecting ny attorney general will be the most serious legal problem for trump long-term. ny ag office ain't gonna care who trump hires or fires and congressional partisan politics will be not even a blip on radar for ag office. however, the biggest issue for trump is gonna be china economic slowdown. for the past couple years, trump has been taking credit for US economy in spite o' fact his policies has had little impact thus far-- presidents always get too much blame for bad economy so am admitting is only fair for 'em to take undeserved credit. typical takes years for any presidential efforts to produce meaningful changes in economy save for consumer confidence, which should not be dismissed light. for example, obama massive deficit bloat is gonna be something multiple successive administrations will be needing address and such impact on economy will haunt presidents for years. more immediate, trump china policies is now exacerbating problems which were already developing and those birds is coming home to roost. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2019-01-22/biggest-risk-is-china-slowdown-says-institute-for-new-economic-thinking-s-turner-video if you thought last two years were a trip beyond the looking glass, you ain't seen nothing yet. HA! Good Fun!
  10. has been explained to us asian beef tastes different not so much 'cause o' fundamental differences 'tween cows, but 'cause o' way in which cows is fed. few folks here in the us has ever actual eaten beef which is fed on nothing save local roughages whereas most asian cows (with the exception o' japan) is more likely to be fed local roughages. us cows destined for plate as steak typically have a high percentage o' grain in their diet--corn, milo, oats and barley. such diet has a dramatic impact on the taste o' the beef, and such grains is not gonna be common fodder for asian cows. in our experience, eat steak from a hokkaido cow fed most on grains and is gonna taste near same as typical american beef cow. eat beef in se asia and you is gonna notice an oddness to beef which is gonna be complete foreign... 'less you has had beef raised on small ranches in the american se which were fed mostly local verdant grasses as 'posed to grains. asian beef, particularly from asian street vendors, tastes familiar... grassy. sharp? fishy grassy? we tend to talk with cooks and chefs wherever we go. is amazing how much folks will tell you if you simply ask e'm, particular if what you is asking is something 'bout which they know or like. admitted, most o' our time in asia has been korea, japan, taiwan, and singapore, so is less zebu and the like, but we also spent a fair amount o' time in the philippines and east timor and a bit o' time in china, cambodia, thailand and laos. have spent only a small 'mount o' time in indonesia and malaysia as there tends to be far fewer opportunities for a free speech/religion religion guy to be getting an invite from local universities and lawyer associations in those nations. no good excuse for having only passed through vietnam a couple times. regardless, explanation from local food experts matches our own experience from eating beef not raised for supermarket consumption. taste o' beef is not so much a result o' fundamental differences in cows but rather in differences in bovine diet. HA! Good Fun!
  11. doesn't look like anybody wants to answer your question... unless cdiaz most recent post qualifies as a functional response. if "one change" were missed when compiling the patch notes, and the aoe bug ain't the missing fix, then we might assume aoe bug has not been fixed? such logic doesn't technical preclude possibility more than one change were missed, but... regardless, am pointing out as am having similar curiosity insofar as a fix for the aoe weapon bug you identify. HA! Good Fun!
  12. Thanks for the links. I will delve into those! And regarding your original post, no Nick Bosa? He seems to be the prime edge rusher, and no 1 pick, on a lot of lists I've seen. Or you are wary of his injury? am not saying nick will be a bad de in the nfl by failing to mention him as the top overall guy. however, he is a smaller and slight slower version o' his brother. joey has made one pro bowl in three years; looked fantastic in 2017 but he rare got the double-team treatment from offenses. melvin ingram doesn't get the press outside of san diego, but he is the guy on the san diego dl getting the most attention from offenses. when 2017, 7th round pick issac rochelle filled in for an injured joey bosa this year, there wasn't much of a drop off in san diego productivity, particular as rochelle were actual superior in run support to bosa. is not fair to compare nick to joey, but is kinda impossible not to. joey is a very good de. nick looks like he could be almost as good as joey. on the other hand, quinnen williams looks like one o' the best interior dl prospects to come out o' the draft in the last +3 years. and yeah, the injury to nick bosa is a concern, albeit a minor one. HA! Good Fun!
  13. Has congress passed a budget for the building of said fence? there is another option. perhaps a rugby pitch instead? might baffle the locals. jonah lomu died in 2015. perhaps if gd builds it, he will come. HA! Good Fun!
  14. Literally unplayable We joke, but 4.0 & 4.1 broke a lot of things that either were never problems before or were previously diagnosed and fixed. That's quite frustrating as a player. (I've paused my current playthrough until some of the bigger issues get addressed.) Feels like they pushed out a major DLC and the turn-based update with too small a team on the back-end. Hopefully future patches that aren't associated with major content changes will be "cleaner." am similarly awaiting fixes to the emergent plague o' post 4.0 bugs before we attempt to continue our deadfire gaming. found our self becoming more than mild annoyed by broken aspects o' the game and decided against further deadfire time as it began to feel as if we were working as free qa as 'posed to enjoying leisure time. HA! Good Fun!
  15. how on earth does hawaii change nature o' the discussion and your use o' "pappy's bones" as a means o' delaying or stopping construction? *chuckle* given your response, am seeing where the butthurt is located. overuse o' "QQ" is signposting. shibboleth? ah well, seems you don't wanna discuss any political issues in the political thread. predictable but not surprising. however, to segway from the difficulties some have with reading comprehension... http://time.com/5518947/donald-trump-intelligence-briefings-national-security/ HA! Good Fun!
  16. well, if the dragon were generating billions more in income by employing hoard guards and construction workers for hoard housing and repair o' such housing, not to mention the predictable hoard of lawyer and cpa specialists who no doubt got particular expertise in hoard management, as well as hoard maintenance workers to polish gold and preserve artwork, then we would get closer to metaphor. also, if we are talking o' american billionaires, is likely the dragon would be donating a noteworthy portion o' the hoard to charity every year. sure, trump gives billionaires a bad name when it comes to charitable giving, but Americans is the most charitable people on the planet based on both total charity dollars and % o' gdp. am nowhere near billionaire status, but am giving ~30% every year, and will continue to do so in retirement (our projected $84k per year is actual $120k... which is why we need sit on a slight larger hoard) after already having given more than half all o' our money to a handful o' different charities. am not unique. as an aside, am 'gainst most o' the new democrat wealth taxes not 'cause we think such is a bad idea, but 'cause is so difficult to accurate value massive wealth on a yearly basis... which is why US has been relying on capital gains values for effective taxing the rich. the rich should be taxed more than they is, but am suspecting the more practical solution is to clamp down on capital gains loopholes than to try and try accurate value humongous wealth on a year-to-year basis. however, for funsies, and given title o' thread, smaug is arguable worth $62 billion. jeff bezos, by comparison, is worth 'tween $120 billion and $140 billion. smaug is thus perhaps only scratching top seven on list o' the true great wyrms o' middle-earth. HA! Good Fun!
  17. QQs and excessive punctuation and "very sad" appears to be needed for gifted, so is 'bout him being discombobulated as 'posed to Gromnir. if is unnecessary, we can stop, but don't want you to lose track as is so frequent the case. our father was cremated, so is inapplicable. on the other hand, if this were some kinda silly attempt to bait us, then we will make only the following observation: QQ hower, as a serious response to a childish query heavy with snark (can't expect too serious a response if you describe with "pappy's bones," eh?) am gonna observe how hinder construction based on presence o' remains o' relatives temporal proximate or remote is personal irrelevant as am having little emotional attachment to the remains o' the deceased. nevertheless, am self aware enough to recognize we would unapologetic use such an excuse on behalf o' clients or causes we believed in as a means delaying or stopping ill-considered constructions. would be irresponsible and unethical not to use every means. also, while we do not have the emotional makeup to be individual concerned 'bout the moldering evidence o' humans long dead save as data for physical anthropologists and the like, would be needing channel a level o' sociopath thankful alien to us to fail to recognize how different such stuff affects our fellow living humans. to discount impact o' a perceived violation o' earthly remains 'cause it don't bother Gromnir personal would be displaying a level o' callousness we hesitate to consider. as such, our concerns insofar as "pappy's bones" is a recognition such is not necessarily insular from our concerns 'bout the wellbeing o' the living. likely needed at least a couple exclamation points to generate comprehension, but C'est La Vie! HA! Good Fun!
  18. it is easy to get stuck in a predictable buff+buff+heal cycle with single-class priests. the reduced priestly spell catalog compared to poe further limits gameplay variation when one reflects 'pon reasonable expectations and previous experience. have made numerous observations 'bout problems and fixes for priests. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/108025-sell-me-on-a-fun-priest-multiclass/?p=2133580 https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/107375-couple-gripes-with-this-game-balancegameplay-not-quality-or-content/?p=2124589 https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/107079-are-priests-still-a-boring-superfluous-class/?p=2121395 https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/99362-what-is-your-worst-single-class-in-deadfire/page-3?do=findComment&comment=2022103 however, am not predicting any major changes for priests so far removed from initial game release. recognizing no new expansions is forthcoming, am foreseeing only minor balance patch alterations for deadfire priests. gonna need wait for poe3? probable. HA! Good Fun!
  19. sad. Fake News! to QQ 'cuse Gromnir pointed out silliness o' a hypothetical environmentalist protest 'cause examples is too remote from an imagined complaint is very bad! Terrible! need more eclamations or more caps? HA! Good Fun!
  20. thanks to mel kiper, draft prognostications became big business and analysis o' potential draft picks became paysite fodder. https://www.nfl.com/draft/home nfl is the obvious first source. keep in mind, mike mayock, who is now the gm for the raiders, were posting draft analysis at nfl.com only a few months past. is not as if mel kiper and todd mcshay from espn is gonna be offered a similar position anytime soon. is more than a couple quality contributors at nfl.com. mike lombardi (not related to vince) worked in nfl player personnel for many years before doing tv and radio commentating jobs. he contributes to bill simmons' new site, the ringer. to be honest, have never actual read lombardi stuff at the ringer, but will likely do so as the draft draws closer. if you like lists, a quality free site with multiple contributing experts who do lists is walter football. is kinda a fugly site w/o any bells and whistles. don't be dissuaded by the spartan layout o' the site. good free info. pff twitter and pff is also worth a look. much o' their content requires pay, but you will be able to get much for free if you loom 'round. HA! Good Fun!
  21. gonna need our universal translator FAKE NEWS! wouldn't be class action regardless, but is more misinformation from the bad media which makes seem as if environmental issues are fringe or resulting from quivering snowflakes weeping every time they see a single oil covered bird. terrible! very sad! https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/joshua-tree-national-park-could-take-200-300-years-recover-shutdown-180971379/ as Americans, we all have ownership in such places, and their damage and destruction may take centuries to repair, if such is even possible. as 'tween an imagined threat from objective decreasing illegal border crossing in wild and remote places 'long the border, and permanent damage to often irreplaceable national lands held in trust for americans and their children, and their children's children, the relative cost v. benefit balancing becomes simple. so, am having a hard time feeling bad if some china doll sensitive folks is gonna QQ 'cause their poster boy will take heat from right-wing media sources if his medieval solution to a legit but diminishing border crossing problem isn't solved by a democrat controlled house when the wh couldn't get the job done for two years when there were republican majorities in senate and house. QQ over environmentalists with real concerns to actual problems is fake news! sad. and is not simple esthetic concerns which motivate folks https://www.reuters.com/article/us-transcanada-pipeline-leak/keystone-pipeline-leak-in-south-dakota-about-double-previous-estimate-paper-idUSKBN1HE0T7 all it takes is one substantial leak into the missouri river and the mississippi all the way down to new orleans gets polluted. similar, wall issues has water right and water preservation implications as there is waterways along much o' the southern border... which would be apparent if one were to look at a map. there is gonna be water concerns particular with water diversions occuring along the texas border where lands is private owned and riparian rights is no freaking joke. am suspecting we didn't use enough exclamation points, capitalization and adverbs. HA! Good Fun!
  22. shady posted some time ago for barbeque, am gonna say we like memphis for pulled pork and central texas for most other. texas barbeque (other than east) is more 'bout the flavor o' the meat than the sauce. am not a fan o' barbeque which is too sweet or drowned in sauce. spend hours and hours doing low and slow cooking only to complete overwhelm meat with other flavors? doesn't appeal to our culinary aesthetic to prioritize end sauce. momo's meat market is our usual barbeque stop in sacramento... happens to be a few blocks up the street from our favorite breakfast spot. HA! Good Fun!
  23. Clearly didn't want them to lose. "In the heated era of the 'Catholics vs. Convicts' rivalry with Miami, an annoyed Hurricanes chaplain declared that God doesn't care who wins a football game. "I don't think God cares who wins, either," agreed then Fighting Irish coach Lou Holtz. "But His mother does."" such stuff is why we prefer college football to pro. HA! Good Fun!
  24. hmm. am thinking if jesus were 'round in 2019, he would be hanging out with shaggy and scooby in the mystery machine. and 'posed to wine, history's most famous hippy would no doubt be a fan o' colorado's new cash crop... and we don't mean sugar beets or wind farming neither. am suspecting 'stead o' "blood of christ," we would be getting slight different gospel telling. kinda a fun image. silver haired septuagenarian ladies in their sunday best, making their way up to the altar to share in a toke o' the "breath of christ." more serious is how we expect the wall kerfuffle to play out. invoke national emergency is only way trump gets even a pyrrhic victory outta this. is nowhere near enough public support for the wall to motivate Congress to support trump and and the wh refuses to compromise on the wall aspect o' border security. so, ultimate doomed national emergency strategy is the likeliest option. from a practical pov, trump is gonna need a show o' wall building before Court shuts down the process. to stave off Court intervention as long as possible, am predicting trump is gonna direct construction efforts begin on fed lands: wilderness preserves, parks, national monuments and department o' defense property. such lands is among the most inhospitable and wild places on the border and less in need o' barriers than in more populous areas, but to get wall started, wildlife refuges and national parks is gonna get fencing first. for all intents and purposes, standing requirement is gonna doom many park lands and wilderness refuges. is not as if individual democrat legislators may sue trump for plundering department o' defense or disaster relief coffers-- needs be an actual injured party suffering a real injury to bring a case. gonna need stretch the public trust doctrine to the limits to get more than a tro for wall building on national park lands. what a waste. only good we see come from this is the Court, and eventual Congress, will limit chief executive emergency powers so this kinda bass ackwards nonsense cannot happen in future. HA! Good Fun! ps good/bad news for texans is their stretch o' border is mostly private owned land. so, unlikely to get much initial new wall construction. however, if you genuine believe illegals and drug mules is flooding 'cross the border in places where they is primarily being challenged by rattlesnakes and scorpions 'stead o' border patrol, then once arizona and new mexico is largely fenced, the invasion o' terrorists-in-disguise and gang thugs on the southern border will be forced to go through texas, 'cause texas will, due to civil procedure issues, get fenced last.
  25. with another sb in the books, it is time to consider the upcoming draft. last year we predicted saquon barkley and quenton nelson as two surefire future all-pros. we also were not convinced any o' the top qbs were franchise material. baker mayfield looks to be proving us wrong, but time will tell. this year... hmmm. am not as certain o' all-pro status as we were with barkley and nelson, but he looks like a surefire top-three pick and is our choice for best player available in the draft. am also gonna point out the other de allen. josh allen is gonna get all the attention, but am thinking zach allen is much underrated. zach has great pass rushing skills and instincts, but he is also one o' the better 2019 dl prospects 'gainst the run. possible late first or early second round steal. he may not generate best rookie sack totals, but he will be a guy who could stay on the field for every snap as a rookie. in any event, am now looking forward to another draft and a new nfl season. HA! Good Fun!
