  1. Yeah, especially considering some of the "material" that has been posted. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Except my ideas right? Right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Only because you stole them ... from ME!
  2. HAL was ordered to lie IIRC, and that is what caused its weird behaviour. It's also a wink to Asimov and his Robots series. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mr R. Daneel Olivaw.
  3. Adolph Wilhelm August Karl Friedrich of Nassau-Weilburg His Royal Highness wishes to plea for the enlightened nations of Europe to seek the common good, and walk the path of peace together, to ultimate prosperity for all. It would be such a shame for any beautiful people to fall out over small issues, especially in this, the modern twentieth century. Grand Duke Adolphe of Luxembourg [Less than (1) day until the deadline for Spring 1901 moves: Wednesday 12 GST (approx. 12 hours from this post.).]
  4. Ah, but maybe films will more often be machinima than live actors ...
  5. The Edsel was meant to be a good idea, too.
  6. So, is there a way to get them to play while you're playing the game or do I have ot watch them separately? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just downloaded it; the movies are packed and require DivX5+ codex, which (v.6) is a free download from divx.com. Is System Shock worth playing first? (System Shock 2 looks and sounds awesome!)
  7. I hate Eidos for their support of that last Lara Croft abomination.
  8. It's a strategic game, as well as a tactical battle. Not everyone has the ability to concentrate for the lengths necessary to perform at the highest level in sport ... "
  9. What I like about US Football is that there must be a result, no matter what. I recall that there is a clause, burried deep in the statistics after how many yards of territory gained versus lost, passes made and dropped, etc, etc ... eventually, after all the statistics that can be measured are calculated, and assuming there is still a tie, they toss a coin to determine the result. No such thing as a draw.
  10. I reserve the right to tell anyone who shows intolerance or ignorance to shut it, regardless of social status, race, or religion. Indeed Eru. You can done enough to earn a place on the Brotherhood of Diplomats. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I...I don't know how to play. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Neither does Baley. j/k It's easy, the mechanics are simple. The game comes down to making alliances and who you break them with first. It's as much about playing poker as it is Risk (the boardgame).
  11. Why not just go to Somoa? Or Aruba! (The Dutch can't stop us!)
  12. Heard & McDonald Islands ?
  13. I dated someone who worked with Mother Teresa. She was Meh-hican. Beware of Montezuma's Revenge ...
  14. It has a dynamic link: the question mark in the address is used to parse variables, cf.: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b231/m3t...soc_450x100.gif is this picture (you may want to reply to this to check the syntax):
  15. There's some lovely filth down 'ere ...
  16. I don't believe the facilities are worth the investment ...
  17. :"> True, it's Feebs in IW, and scrip' means hustle or connive. Buddabing, buddabam!
  18. In space, no one can hear you scream. I saw Alien at school. That Chestbusting scene was talk of the boarding school from then, onwards ... ... Instant classic.
  19. It would have been worse if I hadn't seen it coming ...
  20. How can you write a sequel when you don't know the whole story that you want to continue? Even if you didn't want to play the game enough times to gain influence with everyone, to gain the complete plot and backgrounds, then you could have searched the fora for summaries.
  21. Yep, now the facial expressions are shown to be lacking! (No-one would believe Jack Nicholson's face looks like it does, if it were created on a video game first.) But it does make the point
  22. Not everything is about you. Where life has no value, death often has its price.
  23. That's a mixed metaphor, ain't it? Skeebs is from IW!
  24. Doesn't work like that. Either you are close to some other country's land, and they annex you, or you are taking someone's land, and they imprison you. You need your own armed forces (defence being the first order of business for any government), and they need to put up a decent fight to keep off the closest permanent member of the UN security council (either directly or by horse-trading favours with other members of the UNSC). A friend of mine, who is Eritrean, wants to build up that lovely part of the African Red Sea coastline ... the fact it has been in a state of perpetual war with neighbouring Ethiopia over its independence (granted in 1993) doesn't endear it to too many developed-world venture capitalists, though ...)
